Nice Chip. I think the DC receiver is my favorite "simple" (some are not) receiver circuit. I have lots of regen receivers but the DC receiver is a better performer for similar complexity, 73 VK7IAN
It is simple indeed. So far what I see... there are no headaches when it comes to the tuned circuit Q factor... as in most regen receivers is messing up the regen control or is not oscillating and you don't know why )). I will try to build more a little later. Maybe something just with transistors to fully understand each stage and learn more about the way it works. Theory is nice... but is better do that in practice )). 73 Ian. Next kit build is the FT8 TRX. Almost finished with it as well ))
Multam frumos.
It always sounds better when you built it... than the commercial plug and play style )). Ok those are nice too... but it feels better when you build something.
Thank you Klaus. I just want to replace the 22pF capacitor so I can have a higher inductance and spread the CW portion a little more as is too tight right now with the diode tuning. After that all I need is a nice box and is good to be used ))) 73
Haha... thank you... but do not worry I have bad days as well ))) Especially if I have to rush so I can post a video on time, it looks sometimes like I've been soldering with my legs not my hand 😅😅😅.
Good morning... ohh yes so much fun to built it. It works in the background now as I am impressed by the stability in frequency. Except that now the band is dead so I listen to white noise ))) 73
Have a look in the video description. I have a link to the blog article and I have the schematic posted in there. Is based on the Lidia Direct Conversion Receiver. Nearly the same circuit.
I'm also using Direct conversion reciever for listening 40m band. Single balanced diode mixer(product detector ) and 7 to 7.2 mhz analog VFO. Good video bro 73❤ DE VU3IZD
From the PCB size and circuit topology (DC) this one and "Little Roo 40" looks similar. Hope performs also identically good. Did you spotted some differences between them in terms of performance/stability/etc?
Little Roo is fun... but is really limited because of the frequency coverage and the controls. Plus that it has something on the audio output that I don't like when connecting it to an external amp. I had to build a special cable for it. The other one is a little better ... more fine tune control, the audio is a little louder and no AM broadcast band interferences thanks to the filter on the input. Little Roo has interferences especially late in the evening from strong Chinese stations. On frequency stability they seem almost the same... although the one with MC3361 seems a little more stable. 73, YO6DXE
A really nice one... I hope 😅😅. Actually I must make enclosures for a lot of kits I've built and they are in the air right now... but I need them ON AIR not in the air 😅😅😅. 73 Nigel. I hope you are doing good.
By recalculating the LC circuit part i guess so yes. And for sure using a different tipe of varactor diode with a lot more capacitance. That if you don't replace that with a variable capacitor. There are a few modifications to make... but yes you can. The downside is that it will be hard to tune... unless you add some extra fine tuning option. Having such a wide range of frequencies... will make it hard for you to have any selectivity. Usually that is the reason I prefer building receivers for one particular band. I don't really like modern digital stuff... but with that I guess you can make a little more. I don't know much about it though.. since I prefer old analog stuff )))
roWaves used to sell the kit but is no longer available. I had a spare one but I just mailed it to Miami some while ago as a present. Indeed it could be used as part of a transceiver. 73, YO6DXE
Multumesc mult. Ohhh aveam mult pres mult spam tot mereu si am schimbat cu indicativul in loc de nume. yo6dxe @ gmail.com ( fara spatii )). 73 si multumesc mult.

Addition pleasure to listen to with understanding how it works and built (assembled) by yourself 👍

Excellent ! Very interesting and it works perfectly. Great project my friend !

RoWaves! O firmă faină, mult așteptată să zic așa... Mersi mult pentru materialele prezentate! Good DX! 73 de YO6PNQ

Very nice work, very neat. I wish I could do as well.

Hallo Ciprian, very good video nice radio

Nice to see a circuit diagram/ Schematic if possible Thanks

Thank you so much. It was my first DC receiver. Really exciting little project. Next week I will make the enclosure 😁😁

Nice compact receiver but can this receiver be made to receive a wide range of Frequencies: say 4 to 9 mhz please reply.

Where can you buy kit ? Thanks can it be used in transceiver circuit

Try to make a SWR meter 👍
Soon. Waiting for some more parts to arrive. 73
