    Huh, that was surprisingly tame. Most EAS scenarios blow things way out of proportion. I appreciate the dedication to realism.

      Dedication to realism? It stated the train went 79 and 84 MPH, but freight trains in the US are limited to 75 MPH. That’s not realism

      @@midwestsirens it's a runaway. The 1989(I think) Cajon pass runaway achieved a speed of well over 70 mph.

      Most EAS scenarios would be like "THIS IS A GLOBAL EMERGENCY, 1 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE DIED DUE TO THESE TRAINS."

    This was very tame. Most EAS channels blow things like this to : OH MY GOD THE TRAIN WAS CARRYING THE ENTIRE WORLD LOAD OF NUCLEAR BOMBS THE ENTIRE EARTH WILL BLOW OUT OF ORBIT

      There was an EAS where a group of students took an entire high school graduation hostage, which was sort of believable. Then, they had a nuke, which just ruined everything.

      I saw one where there was one wendigo and it kept killing people, soon, more people were turning into wendigos, and then by the end, everyone in the world was turned into wendigos in a day, and when they died off, it took millions of years for the new humans to take over

    I love how its for once a realistic EAS scenario and how this is ACTUALLY dangerous, for a whole town atleast

      It’s not realistic, freight trains in the US are limited to 75 MPH but this says it went 79 84 and 90 MPH which is impossible.

    This actually reminds me of the runaway at St Paul Minnesota in 1996. It actually is a true story. Richard Vitek was critically injured and waited three hours to be rescued. Spent between a week to almost a month in the hospital.

    This one reminds me a lot of the CSX crazy 8. It was a runaway train and the movie unstoppable was inspired off of it. Its a great Wikipedia read or watch!

    I love EAS, this one was really tame. I won't bash others, as they are just as interesting as this, but this one is more realistic.

      It can happn like in the movie "Unstoppable" its way too much train going way too fast and im speakinf of thousands of tons going to 90mph

      If there is no no engineer aboard to regulate throttle, it could go yo to at least 80 mph on a downhill.

      @@thatsimulatorguy They have emergency brake application if they overspeed. It is impossible for a freight train to hit 90 unless it’s brakes somehow failed.
