Its more about the hi volts and current. With little straggle i beleave they bern.
Im very surprise that the ir didnt bern right away.
Lego pf and 3s with 12.5v just not go together.

He just rewired the IR receiver to have a Lipo-plug instead of the lego PF plug. simple as that.

Žilvinas Deveika He cut off the grey Lego Power Functions-connector from the Power Functions IR-Receiver and replaced it with a LiPo-connector so the Receiver could attach to a LiPo battery instead of a lego Power Functions-Battery box.
