Bull Introductions Never Go Well

- In this video I go pick up another black angus bull to help my bull get the breeding done this year. Putting bulls together that are not familiar with each other can be dicey!

Thanks for the video. Soon the 2 bulls will be walking around with big smiles on their faces.
I distinctly remember a neighbor's group of heifers got in with my grandfather's heifers... There was about nine of them. We were able to get them in the barn and stanchioned up... The only guy that we could get to haul those heifers back to our neighbors farm was a horse trader... He didn't clean out the trailer and it had lots and lots of horse goodies in it. We worked an hour and a half and we could not get any of the nine heifers in the trailer. After we pressure washed the trailer out the heifers went up inside the trailer smoother than butter... 🤣
Thank you, Buddy is one of my favorites on UA-cam
The bull calf you bought is a very nice one, like his conformation so far. Totally agree with you about keeping the adult bulls separate a few days. Let them get all the hierarchy and dominance issues solved on their own side of the fence. Once the growling, bellering, pawing, charging and stare down is done in the paddocks hopefully they will just go to work when turned out instead of locking heads and dueling it out. Always better to have a extra bull rather than not enough. Also, introducing a young 2 y/o clean up bull toward last 1/3 to 1/4 of breeding season when mature bulls sometimes get lazy new competition for remaining in heat cows will get them busy working again in a hurry.
Lots to consider, but you’re doing great. Don’t ever doubt yourself, your experience speaks for itself! God bless!
Second Bull! The Piggies will enjoy having more room! Two Black Angus Bulls! Bulls facing off! It will time to get to know each other! Who’s the Toughest? Redman Garlic Salt Block! The Redman Salt Blocks are working! Two Bulls are better than one! Registered Black Angus Bulls! Beautiful Big Boys! Healthy! Strong! Oh! Cows 🐄 will be happy! Great Informational Video! Thank-you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Came in for Breakfast and found a new post. The quality and continuity of your videos are really a treat to watch. Your explanation of each situation and planning for the FTR future is excellent and just supports the above thoughts. Great Job Tyler! Keep it up!
⁰000⁰⁰
That new bull is a nice specimen
Congrats on the 2 beautiful bulls! They'll be too busy once in the pasture with the cows and forget about fighting soon! :)
I was just wondering about buddy. The herd looks healthy.
So nice to see neighbors helping each other out.
Hi to mom and the 2 little ones. Have a great weekend.
Will buddy also just remain a pet.
When he was getting off the trailer he had tons of flys and I took notice. Then you talked about the salt blocks . Great job
I'll have to wait to see the expressions on the bulls faces when they are set free with the girls, because the expression on your face sure tells a story 😉
Beautiful bulls
The pigs are adorable and I bet they like their new home. The bulls are both sturdy and look well muscled. It was so nice to see Buddy.
Questions please?
1. Have you thought about renting out your bulls to other farmers for breeding?
2. Does Buddy have pink eye? His eyes look like their weeping.
Another great video!
Thanks FTR
lol I always thought the riding action was a sign of dominance, but what you said makes sense.👍😁🤗♥️🕊🙏🏻
Big beautiful beasts
Good luck with breeding season
Great explanation of your Breeding system.
Things look like they could get interesting with this new bull.
I enjoy watching your videos especially in the morning drinking coffee.. always great 👍 videos. Always detail. Video like 👍..
Good morning Tyler, YAY more bull's to keep those cows & you busy haha.
You have fantastic herd management. Very impressed. Can’t wait to see the boys head out for the summer
I love Buddy❤️
I bet you have beautiful calf's in calf's season
Great vedio! 👍
Female.dogs will ride anything. Including each other. When I had rabbits same thing. It's just Mother Nature
Well Played Cheers!
great video! It does not hurt to be careful!
Sir enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Seeing your plan is to raise your own herd bulls, you are most certainly picking the right sire’s. I lease and sell registered black angus service bulls, those bulls are fantastic looking animals ✊🇺🇸
I bought a Hereford bull and had a smaller Angus bull. The Hereford pushed the Angus up and down the pen. I tried running them together, but the Angus was only allowed to stand in the far back corner of the pasture, in a 10*10 square. The Angus had to go..
I like my Hereford s baldies.
Dogs will ride each other just like cows do especially the dominant female. When I see it I know it is time to call for the stud.
That guy you deal with breeds some good looking bulls! That new bull was showing off,but your bull ,his demeanor wasn't havin' none of it!
P.S. looks like maybe your guy you deal with needs to get him some Redmond blocks.
Good video man
I absolutely love your videos mate! I'm from QLD Australia and work with peanut growing and cattle. I wish you had a patreon so we, 'your viewers,' can support you better and show our appreciation for your content and hard work.
i noticed the amount of flies on the new bull right away lol so you know what the garlic does and how it works hugsssss
I give my German Shepherds a garlic clove, to prevent fleas & ticks; daily, it works! Never had a problem.
Hey Tyler I seen on another video from a larger Ranch one time that they pour apple cider vinegar on all their bulls back before they introduce them to one another and they don't fight PS thanks for all the great content you put out
Excellent information!! I want to try the Redmonds..worry about costs
You need to power wash the outside of the trailer too!!!
FTR: At some point could you please explain for us non-beef breeders why you choose to use bulls to impregnate your cows instead of artificial insemination. Is it because bulls naturally detect a cow going into estrus and as a herdsman you’d need to recognize and interpret a cow’s heat signals to properly time artificial insemination? Wouldn’t artificial insemination tighten up your calving season? Respectfully, W.S.
I was waiting to see the bulls meet the ladies in this video. Can you show the pigs more on video & how you care for them? What do you do with the female calfs when you turn the bulls out? Will they leave the calfs alone? Sorry about all the questions I just have never learned about farm animals & farm life.
I'm thinking cows ride each other for dominance to show dominance. I've seen a cow try to ride a bull too....crazy.
"Buddy" is looking goood and I recall he was a bottle calf but he is also a steer, he should be going to sale or freezer camp.
Terrible comment. He is now just a pet
@@nursebunny7420 Not really, pet or not he is eating and not contributing anything to the farm. Had he not been a bottle calf, I am pretty sure he would have been placed with the other steers.Since Farmer Tyler is now relying on the farm for his income, he may have to put his emotions aside when it comes to keeping Buddy.
Hi Tyler, don't you think you delaying your breeding time as the cows only come on heat once evert 21 days.
Having two boys with no horns is a great idea at least they cannot severely hurt themselves what we call it in Australia is having what they call a mop up bull it is more of an insurance policy to make sure that all cows are bred
have you ever used Cylence for fly control
I live in Tennessee and I can’t find Redmond salt block at all maybe you could help me
They are online to order. Also ask your farm store to order them
Do you think the Redmond salt blocks change the taste of the meat?
Tyler what is the price to rent a bull ?
When a cow jumping on top of each other because she is in heat and the one is jumping she can be in heat to
You can’t get rid of pig smell!!Lol You can pressure spray to the core and the cows will still smell pigs.
Sorry sir, I am frome Asian, how much price perkg of cowin you country?
Why are the stanchions on the feeders angled instead of vertical ?
Helps them not pull hay out and drop it on the ground
@@farmertylerranch4399 Thanks
Using only 1 bull would lead to a lower semen count, creating a greater number of heifer calves. Definately need 2 bulls for this many cows. Enjoy your videos.
If u put Apple cider vinegar on there back they won’t fight at all
It’s pride month.
You need help., hirer some help I am enjoying watching your Videos 6-9-2022👍🏽👍🏽
Buddy's a beauty. , always my favourite. Great video. Ok. Ready Steady, GO ...... 👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜🌞🌞🌞
How much do they charge to rent a bull?
You made my day. Anything involving bulls makes my day.
2 good looking bulls. Happy workin guys!
Beautiful bulls. It was great to see Buddy. Thanks. 😁
The bulls look like they are ready to go at and get the job done! Great vid sir!
Those are some nice lookin bulls. They will make some nice calves. Great looks herd.
The group of cows look really good there Tyler garlic seemed to show a difference to me but I'm not a cattleman. I am a mechanic so hopefully all the bulls get along good
I may have an answer to your cow on cow conundrum Tyler. Perhaps one of those cows identifies as a bull? After all, I hear that is pretty popular out there in CA! 😂🤪
I hope that Redman Salt company appreciates you. I bought some because of you........😁
How's your selenium situation where you are Tyler? I was browsing the Redmond products, but noticed they don't have a block that has garlic AND selenium that I could see. Do you make a separate selenium fortified mix available to your cattle, or is that not an issue where you are? I was hoping I could find a one-product solution.
Selenium. Are you using it to enhance their immune system and better reproductive issues.
@@nursebunny7420 I'm in Ontario Canada and our forage here is low in Selenium. If we don't supplement with a mineral containing it, it can cause lack of fertility in the adult cows, possible miscarriage, retained placenta. In calves, a deficiency can cause white muscle disease (which can be fatal), so as soon as the calves are born we give them a shot of selenium/vitamin E. It's amazing what lacking that one mineral can do.
Loved this video. Your young bull looks really nice. Good info, presented well and entertaining, too. Esp. Redmond Garlic Salt blocks.
Great video farmer tyler ranch the bull looks good
good thinking
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Tyler, I always enjoy your videos, this one is no exception. Thanks for the laugh. You said Buddy doesn’t know why he is riding the cows, but he knows he just wants to do it.
Get a black simmie
There are some amazing black hides Simmental bulls out there to use. I am in the similar camp as you. Mainly angus based with a lot of Hereford cows. Have been using a simmie and I am very very happy. Keep that heterosis going.
I always kept my 2 bull's separated in the barn but in close pens
We have always done a ratio of 25:1 or close to it !!!
Spot on Tyler on entire video and your thought process. Good luck on breeding season
Redmond Agriculture for the win!👏👍 I saw the numerous flies on the bull in the trailer (he was covered). I've also seen the coats on your cows since you started Redmond Garlic Salt. Your cows look so much better (they didn't look bad before). As a horse person, I love the depth of the shine in their coats. All of those minerals help in every way possible to be their best. I've gotten them for my granddaughters HS Rodeo horses. The minute I put the salt in their stalls, they started licking on them!👏💙👍
Awesome! I was wondering if these salt blocks are safe for Horses.
CAL-I-FORN-I-A, NICE VIDEO. From Texas. Eaglegards...
Love is in the air at FTR
Put up a temporary HOT!! wire 10' from the fence the new bull wants to stand by. He will then know what a hot wire is when you turn him out.
Good Morning, Tyler! I love rewatching your videos! New Bulls! Macho Bulls! Great Video! Thank-you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those "swole" bulls be "bowin' up".
What’s it cost you to rent a bull
They are mighty fine looking boys - drool😍
Hi to Farmer Tyler Ranch and all others too. Continue the great contents .Happy Saturday everyone stay safe cute lil piglets
What a handsome couple of breeding bulls!
What a great video and explanation of breeding animals and why things are done the way they are done
Hello from Liverpool in England
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
Buddy and I are a lot alike - we really don't know what we are doing up there but we just know we wanna do it
Haha!
Lots to look forward to. Looks like you’re all prepared. Looking forward to your next video.
Oh! How’s the 4 wheeler (can’t remember what they’re called. Used to live in Alaska and that’s what they’re called there) coming along?
🙂👍
you have some beautiful cows and healthy!
And keep it on the bulls aren't they related to the cows
What happened to the little pony you had just missed it around there
That new bull is a looker! So nice to see our Buddy.
Good plan. Good looking bull calf also
maybe it's just me but I feel like the male species has it a little easier - wait, has more fun.
Good looking bulls Get them busy
