@TinyMotorsGuild I think the only Tomica I'll ever buy is a Ferrari one because like you said, they have an exclusive license to make Ferrari castings.
I have a total of eight mainlines, one Premium and one (accidentally acquired, it's a long story) Cool Drive in my Tomica collection, and the DBX is among the mainlines. I personally feel that Tomica mainline series is much more in their element with Lamborghinis (not including the Veneno) and some JDM sports models like the GR86, GR Supra, Honda Civic Type Rs, Nissan GT-Rs and Skyline GT-Rs. Maybe also include some more castings like the G-Wagon, the Jeep Wrangler, the '16 Camaro SS and the C8 Corvette Stingray. Not including their Ferrari castings here because some of those are licensed from May Cheong Group. The one that is really concerning is Tomica Premium - their newer releases are nothing in comparison to the ones they released before 2020. That F40 I believe is one of Tomica Premium's earliest releases and is still in production.
@@chirantonbee That's great to know. Unfortunately here in India Tomicas are hard to come by now. In this year only Hot Wheels and more premium brands' castings made their way here - with Matchbox, Majorette and Tomica not coming in. Finding these brands' castings is a ton of effort and might not always be worth it.
@TinyMotorsGuild I know, very few sellers have Tomicas in stock these days. Then again, in my neighborhood in Guwahati there are no new Hot Wheels to be found either. So it's more worthwhile for me to look for what few Tomicas are in stock with some sellers.
I personally think most of the tomica castings are not worth the money at all. There are better castings by hotwheels and Majorettes. I also hate the fact that Tomica doesn't even try to give side mirrors. Not even mentioning how bad their packaging is. Only worth it castings which i have seen are the Sian and the STO. I have the Majorette Hiace and it's wayy better than the Tomica one, and the majorette one has side mirrors. In short, tomicas are disappointing. Don't even get me started on the wheels🤦♂️
Hotwheels mainlines have had their own issues - with bad QC to an overall decline in quality. Agreed about Majorette - it's no secret that it is my favourite brand to collect. Sian too, I have the Majorette which is better than Tomica. Them being disappointing or not is a personal preference - but in my view a Ferrari F40 for under 1000 rupees is a good deal for sure.
Since you mention the Sian and the STO, I own both and I would like to add a few more castings to that list from ones which I own. 1. No. 78 Honda Civic Type R (FL5) 2. No. 120 Ferrari SF90 Stradale 3. No. 28 Subaru BRZ 4. No. 1 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34) Police Car Apart from that, I would say most of the newer mainline castings from after 2022 are ignorable. My personal wish list from those castings would be: 1. No. 48 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32) 2. No. 107 Lamborghini Revuelto 3. No. 75 Acura Integra (DE4 A-spec) 4. No. 60 Nissan GT-R Nismo (model year 2024) Of course, there are a few older mainline castings, still in production, which I want to buy. One of them is the No. 35 Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

Tomica should provide better rims on the mainlines. The current rims they use look ugly
Mainline looks like a Chinese knock off of the actual car, in my opinion, especially the BMW.
The casting itself is nice IMO. Just needs better wheels.
The i4 and the DBX are particularly terrible, but DBX is still tolerable imo. Wait till you see what Tomica did to the Toyota Prius '23 casting.
