Are you sure you know how to use these? All you are doing is cracking the surface, and don't get the cracks where you want them, which is in the middle of the rock. You should put the tool all the way down at the first try. And obviously make deep enough holes to take the whole tool. And, why are you drilling so many holes in the first place? You would be able to get the same job done with considerably less holes if you drilled the holes as you worked. Drill the ones you make deep enough to accommodate the tool properly instead, and you would get much more out of them. Each hole cost money and takes time.
i have split lots of stone with manual steel wedges and a big sledgehammer,, its hard work, hehe but if you want a near straight line in the rock you need to drill several holes in the direction you want the crack to go and use several vedges and hit each wedge 1 time each and start over and so on. until it cracks.. it seamd in this case they was just wanted the stone in small handable sizes since they didnt have say an excavator ore crane..
I'd never get tired of that cracking sound.
Snyggt jobbat lite otymplig att hantera men verkligen intressant

You need to keep the feather and wedge well greased if you want it to last!
