The Marina KICKED US OUT! Maiden Voyage on One Engine
Вставка

- We can't get on the boat until we own the boat..
As soon as we own the boat we need to be OUT!
This is definitely not the ideal situation. The engines haven't been run in years and we would have ideally spent a few days making sure all the systems worked before we took off on a 6-8 hour journey to the boat yard. We renew our Tow boat US subscription just in case this old trawler breaks down on us.
Stay tuned next week as we get hauled and really see what we are dealing with!

Husband looking at the daunting task. Wife cheerfully says, ''It will be FUN!''. You married well, Billy.
Better than the numerous nagging b!tches. 😭
I can't stop smiling watching you two cruising on one engine past unfamiliar landmarks as you prepare to go under your first bridge in a longtime, chatting excitedly while knocking on wood every few minutes in the hopes it protects you against unknown surprises of the inconvenient or costly kind and, undaunted, steering on course to this newest adventure with a beautiful but slightly wobbly wheel. You look so at home and happy on the water again!. Congrats, keep it up and best of luck with this exciting project! You will do it! Cheers!
Ahh to be young, someday they’ll look back at this and realize it was the best time of their lives.
And these video’s will bring it all back to them. How great is that going to be! I don’t even know them and yet I’m proud of what they have accomplished so far.
Sorry but I can't say I will miss you guys travelling in your truck...I'm so glad u guys are back on a boat !!!
Billy: "Diesel prices are insane right now " then Buys boat with twin diesels. Love you guys. I'm glad the work and fixing up is starting again. Those are my favorites. Good luck!
wind power would be pretty nice. :(
I didn’t think they would buy it for that reason alone.
Keep on keeping on folks...thanks for sharing.
Stay blessed.
You won the Lottery. Good for you guys. I am so much looking forward to this refit. Thanks for sharing.
This is the kind of stuff I like!
Ya know I think that the marina is missing an opportunity. They could sell tickets so folks could come watch you two work on your boat, heck they could even sell hot dogs and popcorn. Some folks just have no imagination. Good luck on the rehab work guys, I have faith. Keep the good stuff coming.
When you meet difficult folks just be polite and move on, it’s way less trouble and it really pisses off cranky people when you don’t join them in their misery. You’ll probably meet happier folks at the next stop. This boat looks like an interesting adventure.
WHAT MATTERS is
how YOU TREAT YOURSELF
and
HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS,
how THEY TREAT YOU (or how they treat ANY ONE ELSE includes themselves sigh) MATTERS NOT!!!
THAT IS THEIR ISSUES!!! NOT YOURS
don't let it become your issue! :)
if they ask you for help, tell them how YOU DID IT not how THEY SHOULD DO IT ( free will free choice ) they still need to chooooze ;)
!!!!! BE BLESSED BLESSED BE !!!!!
free will & free choice
((you can choooze to let it (or ANY THING) become (shudder wrong choice) your issue!
.......OR NOT!!!! I CHOOZE TO ALLOW IT TO STAY THEIR ISSUE (not mine) AND IT WILL *NOT* JAK MY ..... .....HAPPY/JOY/COMPASSION!!! good luck!))

In are Marine I have found with mine there a lot of Monday morning quarter CAPTAINS. Everyone always has some advise on how you should do your work. I had one want-a-bee CAPTAIN (Not)
Point out scratches on my clear plastic as I was cleaning it. I just smiled at him. But inside I was saying "what a tool". There is a group of old guys that like to sit in chairs on are dock. They all drink BEER. And talk all this BS. One-up-man ship to each other. It funny to listen to after they start drinking a case of beer. The story's start sounding like they sailed the 7 seas.
What a vessel you are piloting. Diesel power has proven to be reliable power once again. Built tough. If this is an original engine and your moving, this is impressive. Thanks for sharing another adventure.
Love how Sierra took charge of the video. You come a long way from the shy women in the beginning ....love to hear alot more for you Sierra and love your name...
I love the new boat. Will be the most epic moment to see it emerge from under the coat of dirt. This will transform it completely. And great to see you back on the water.
We are happy to be back! And proud to bring you along for the transformation!! :)
Good job one one engine. Navigating a boat that size on one engine is no easy task. Especially docking in the marina.
Glad to be there for you if you need us!
Love that your back on trawler
the inside is a real gem.
That's awesome. Uneventful inaugural run. Tied up safe. Perfect. Some of those uppity marinas are just bloody ridiculous. I trucked a load of dock boxes to one here in B.C. once. I couldn't show up before 8am. When I started to unstrap my load they bitched because my belt winches were to noisy. I couldn't turn the corner to get to where they wanted them because I might scuff the parking lot. It took us 5 hours to unload what should have taken an hour and then they wouldn't sign for the extra time. So when I left I wound the engine up as much as I could and use the Jake brake for every gear. And because I was empty my trailer brakes unfortunately locked at the end of the driveway, but only for about 10 feet. I know, I know very unprofessional. What can I say. Lol.
What a team the two of you make! Such positive energetic people. You got this ❤️❤️❤️🤭🤭
My heart is bursting with pride! I know your families are proud too! Billy’s got the mechanics.
Sierra got the cosmetic work! What a team 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm the guy that was on the other side of the dock for 2.5 years. Lots of people have had the unfortunate issue of having to deal with safe harbor. They are truly assholes and try to make anybody that doesn't have a "pretty" boat leave by putting pressures on them that are just stupid. You are way better off getting out of there. I loved living on my boat there and made some great lifelong friends, but the safe harbor hassles were just not worth it. They were not putting any money into the marina and I'm sure you saw the results.
VERY impressive motoring all the way to the new marina without any issues. Hope that gives you confidence in your new boat. Is it Napa Marina?
Great luck!
They went under the Mare Island Causeway bridge, so it's either Vallejo Municipal or Vallejo Yacht Club, probably the former.
@@kentfletcher8539 Hello Kent, fun watching these two isn't it.
Don't want to argue, but they were going specifically to have the boat hauled. Neither of the marinas you mentioned have that capability. I don't think any of the Vallejo marinas have that service available.
I spent 3 years traveling all over the Bay and Delta. Near the end of the vid I thought I recognized the Napa River. There is a very well know diy marina just before you get to the town of Napa where many trying to save a few dollars tend to haul. This would be great for them if that's where they ended up.
Jeddie looks so happy
I think I'm as excited as yall are
Billy, I know it is hard to sell your truck. I feel you, man. Lots of good memories.👊
Perfect time to get the soap and brushes out during a rain storm.
We purchased our 1979 Defever 43' in 2008. We did close to a total refit and lived aboard for five years. Our boat, Dorcas Ann, is now under contract. Our journey with that wonderful boat is priceless. Glad to see you site and am looking forward to watching your progress after the holidays. Good luck and God bless you!
I am so excited you have another trawler. That was the original content that I really enjoyed when I discovered your channel years ago. Can not wait for the renovation and travels with it.
Me too Guys and I know you are a great team together. Stay safe please.
Yep guys, The absolute one worst thing that can happen to a boat is to let it sit unused and neglected, I wont speak of those other two, lol!! Good luck guys, Yall did very well i do believe!!!
Sierra is just so upbeat!
This trawler looks REALLY cool. Can't wait to see the transformation once you shine it up!
How can anyone ever possibly say NO, to sweet sierra!
Sierra! Value, easily $50,000, engines cleaned up n painted. Gel- coat engine. room, detail top to keel etc?
Jetty seems to be digging on it
Just as I was about to write Jetty seems so proud , I saw your post
When I started the first refit I attempted, a good friend told me there is nothing like “new hands on an old boat”… and what a beast you have there! Great boat, good luck! Look forward to watching you two work magic!
Running such a big boat on only one engine! Wow! I have a 24 foot boat with one engine! It's a little daunting! You both are braver than me! Congratulations! I can't wait to see the next video!
This is so exciting! Your enthusiasm is contagious. :)
I would say someone in the marina had there eye on getting it hence the hostility towards you 😎
I'm happy it was a smooth trip for you. After those knuckleheads not working with you were you just left. you deserve some good luck/mojo. this adventure is already fun!
Sounds like they need to rename that place to A-hole Marina.
Great to see yall on the water again!! I cant believe u got that boat so cheap
You're whole land experience was for one purpose. This ship/ boat she was waiting for you. Good feelings about this. I mean look at you all. The Captain and first Mate are back. YOUR BACK! SHE ❤ you all. A new family member. I'm so glad to see on the water again!!!!!
100 bucks and it moved under it's own power is a win in itself
Yes Sierra, I think it will be fun.
People probably thought they were seeing a ghost ship escaping from Alcatraz!
I have been watching you two ( and Jetty) for a long time. You guys are my favorite homeless people on UA-cam. I hope to see you out there one day.😃👍
Exciting times ahead.
#trawlerflashbacks awesome
What a great way to begin!
Can you believe it! SO LUCKY nothing went wrong !
Next time you need to park an RV in Alameda...my office is super close!
Hi , we have been following your adventures for just a short time but we are wondering when the next episode will be coming .
Your episode are very enjoyable to watch keep up the good adventures.
Your new second hand trawler looks like a great restore as it is a beautiful craft and hopefully it will be back to its former glory .
good luck with the project.
Regards Bruno & Robyn
Awesome start to the adventures
Congrats on the safe passage to the work marina and pull out site! Be safe Tula Team!! 👍👍
Welcome to California!!!!! I live in Lodi, California....Love your attitude....hang in there.
Boat living has, surprise fun, and challenges
As soon as you get the boat running, go to the Delta. There are numerous marinas that will allow you to live aboard and do your own work. Pacific Boat Services in Stockton is one option.
So glad to see you both in a trawler hull again!
So exciting!
You two share the Brass Gonads award for the day!
Thats the perfect boat for the San Juans.
This time it's going to be anther outstanding adventure... A water blast and the value goes up 5K...
Glad to see you 3 back on the water.
Congrats guy's on taking ur Boat to a Better dock. lv the area.
Very impressed that the boat is able to make way under its own speed after 5 years, testament to the build quality.
I'm excited for you guys. I hope the project continued to go as smoothly.
Hey guys glad to see you made it to Cali and more specifically to the Bay! I’m a Bay native (now about 1.5 hours away in wine country) and have been watching your journeys for years now. I’ve also been VERY close to purchasing my own trawler and or cruise-able boats. I’d like to extend an offer from me. If you guys need help with restoring the boat, I’d love to help. Gives me experience on when I purchase my own. Also, there’re way nicer marinas in the Bay as well as down south in Santa Cruz. Also, nearest to you would be Half Moon Bay. Wish you well and if you have questions, feel free to contact me!
Santa Cruz is nice, but it's a several year wait to get a slip... Maybe Moss Landing, any of that is a long trip on an old trawler that needs work. A lot less trouble (not to mention SAFER) to go further inland. Check out the Delta Doo Dah rally!
@@kentfletcher8539 Yep very true. Probably a lot more lenient on working on your vessel at the delta. Grew up camping and fishing there too.
I’m not too far from the delta now. Just wasn’t a place I’d think they’d like.
Plenty of cool marinas though for cheap.
@@kentfletcher8539 We love Delta Marina in Rio Vista.
Good luck guys
Puppy is the star of the show. Keep cruising!
Very cool. You two may have got the buy of a lifetime. Here's hoping so. Can't wait to see more.
Having seen the work done on Instagram makes me even more impressed now that I've seen more of what it looked like originally
Best video ever. And don’t get me wrong, I totally get it that you were getting a brand new boat. I got it. But I have followed you from the beginning. But I know how awesome it is watching you with the older boats. Refurbishing them. Starting from scratch. Getting a saw out and cutting an entire deck out. Rebuilding. I get it. I love it. And your new boat is going to be amazing. But to have the privilege to watch you to do what you do best is priceless. There’s not a dollar figure here. It’s knowledge. It’s everything that is #OfTheEpic. I am so stoked for this. I know you should film both, and I hope you do. And I cannot believe I’m this excited for something so simple. That being said, please, carry-on
🤙🏼🍻💯🎯🍾
Well done both! I hate snobby marinas! Seems to me they probably have leased that slip to someone else 😢
Great video. All the best with your new boat. Your new project will be quite the adventure. Thanks for sharing. My son is down in San Pedro and we hope to do a cruise out of there this winter. Safe travels.
Wish you great success with the refit
Of this beauty
I like the old Salty Dog that's a cool old trawler
At 13:00, Mare Island was in WW 2 a huge Naval Shipyard and Submarine Base. Also a Large Brig ! You passed three 'Dry Docks' coming through the Straits which are now used for salvage operations. Great video !!
Hi just subscribed and this video explains why you two are so suited and why the boat needs you to buy and bring it back to life. Chris
If you are talking about a marina on Alameda Island, the whole Island is notorious for being hard on anyone not paying real estate taxes or who they deem as homeless and living in alternative situations, ie ... Not living in a house or apartment.
Binge watching these past videos! I missed you guys. I have been a fan for 6 years!!!! Because of sierra i discovered swimming pigs lol can’t wait for new adventures
electric turkey carvers work great to cut foam
good tip
Welcome to California!....now get out!!
So nice to see you in CA. We fish out there on good weather days
Their can be no darkness in the light guys. Rock on!!
I love that are back aboard another boat! You kids are just meant to be on the water!
Billy's Dad told me when Billy was little he found him reading "The 3 Day Work Week," think that is the Title !!! Awesome!!!
You can get jig saw blades that are for foam. They're like long knife blades and with a jigsaw they work really well for thick foam.
I thoroughly am enjoying your adventures and APPRECIATE HOW REAL and down to earth yu are. Soon I WILL be right behind......recovering from destructive divorce, broke back in 5 places 4.5 years ago, and have overcome the aspects associated. live in manatee county, FLORIDA, if you bring truck what are you wanting. If I don't find a sail for dog n me soon?
Susan & Tony here, "it will be fun" Ha such a positive attitude.
If you need to store your truck in a safe place you can park it at my house I’m about 2 hr away and have plenty of room
I can appreciate your comments about the marina. I was a live aboard for two years and the marinas in the bay are the worst. No customer appreciation and no logic by the management. Napa Valley Marina on the other hand is a great DIY yard and really only one of the few in the entire area.
Can't wait to see this boat updated!!
You guys are crazy I LOVE it
Just carry more Fuel filters. I put a double fuel filter system on mine. I don't have a fuel polishing system. You are so smart in the issue you talk about on things like that on older boats that have old fuel in Tanks. On your budget, just changing the filter more often is in your budget.
Thank you for talking about all that stuff, to educate people of low budget boating. The extra costs of putting on a fuel cleaner, I understand it's might be over budget.
What a great couple possitif problem solving no mather what go,go go,
In that spirrit you will make it.
All the nest for you
Hope the second engine runs ,like the first one without to many issues.
All the best.
Theo,
The netherlands.
HECK YA!!! That’s awesome glad all went well on the first drive !!! You guys are awesome!!!
So good to see you two and Jetty back on the water on your own boat. Have fun with the new project.
Not really nice of them to kick you out before you can make the boat sea-worthy. I admire your hard work and good attitude.
Jetty seems to be happy to be back on the water too, and enjoying riding on the bow again. 😄❤️🐕🛥
glad you made it to the dock without problems, cant wait to see how the project progresses
Pressure washer! Poor thing is filthy!
You two are amazing.
Sorry to see the truck and camper go but moving on is why memories are a good thing!
love the trawler. Glad to see yall add to the fleet. Keep up the good hard work towards yall's passion. God Speed.
Welcome to Califony!!! Yall need to hurry back over to east coast!!!
Positive outcomes for Positive people. Great job you two. So cool.
That I motor sounds good!
