Vintage Ballistic Tip RWS H-Mantel Expanding Bullet

  • RWS H-Mantel is a very early iteration dating back to 1934 of what is now popular as a polymer ballistic tip, but decades before the widespread use of cheap and readily available plastics when the polymer ballistic tip was introduced by Nosler in 1984.
    It uses a hollow copper cup instead of polymer to achieve the same goal. This vintage projectile is seemingly from 1947, but the H-Mantel is still offered by RWS in more modern versions.

    Interesting. At first glance, it appears to be the old Bronze Point bullet.

      @@ColterBrog I have a box of the bullets somewhere. They are from the 60s-70s. They were Remington in 30-06.
