    I've had this kayak for a couple years. I have zero complaints! Its perfect for me and the fishing I do. I mounted a fish finder, a cleat and a rod holder. Thats it. Great vid.

    I have this boat in the 120. If you are under 175lb, this is a fantastic setup. I've had one for almost 3 years and even owning a hobie outback, I am considering a second for myself/my daughter. My original has been commandeered by my son. They track well paddle easy and for bonus, when the seat is low you can rest your legs on the side which is super comfortable. I bought some walmart foam golf balls for mine and it keeps all the water out for couple bucks. Have done few reviews myself. If you run strip/strips of duct tape on bottom it keeps from scratching as well. Good review.

    I've had mine for a year. Excellent yak. Stable, paddles easy and straight, easy to transport. I am 70 and do not stand when fishing. I do get in and out while standing, very stable. I have never had water inside my hull. You will get water on the deck when paddling. That's just normal for any SOT. I do plug the two supper holes under the seat. Mine is the 10.5 foot, great for me. I fish lakes of all sizes. Very good video.

    Also notable on the underside is the recess to accommodate the transducer for your fishfinder, should you want to install one. It's quick, easy and requires no drilling or cutting.

    Why is the bottom of the hull textured? Almost every kayak I’ve seen has smooth finish on the bottom but the Pescador Pro 10 I’m looking at has a textured bottom. Great review! Thanks

    Just a note on those “Flush Mount Rod Holders”...that’s not what they are. Those are holes to insert Perceptions’ proprietary Rod-X rod holder. People have lost rods because they used those as a rod holder.

    Hey guys, I'm really confused.
    Can someone help me choose a kayak? I want it to be relaxing and chill, but also fast and easy to maneuver. I don't fish, but I want to be able to sit on top and have plenty of leg room.
    I've been looking at the Pescador Pro 12, the Bonafide RS117, the Wilderness Radar, and the Oldtown Sportsman and Predator.
    What do you think?

    I am in doubt between a readily available 10 and a order (2 months+) 12 for coastal fishing (max. a few miles out). We live in Latin America. Keen to ask your advice if the 10 will do for this kind of fishing or I best do the waiting time for the 12? Consideration: more speed / reach with the 12.

    • @OutdoorsOriented
      @OutdoorsOriented  4 роки тому

      I'd be inclined to suggest the 12' for what you're doing. 10' is great for sheltered water where you're not covering much distance, but the 12 will perform better on the bigger water.

      @@spinnfunky406 I finally didn´t buy the Pescador but a Jackson 15ft sea kayak (got a good deal locally). I sold that last year and upgraded to a Hobie Compass. Here in Panama City there is a store called Panama Paddle Center. They are a licenced dealer for different brands. There is probably an equivalent in Costa Rica. I haven´t tried the Pescador but know people who have. I am happy I didn´t buy it for the ocean. I will probably work, but it likely much slower than an ocean kayak.

    what paddle do you reccomend?

    • @OutdoorsOriented
      @OutdoorsOriented  Рік тому +1

      There's a few factors that come into play when deciding on a paddle. Since the Pescador Pro's are a bit wider, you'll likely want a paddle with a slightly larger surface area on the blade. Usually we'll recommend going with a fiberglass or carbon fiber material as these will be a bit lighter compared to aluminum. For length you'll want a 230cm - 240cm for this model depending on your height and paddling style. These are just some real rough guidelines though, so talking with an experienced paddler, or watching a few videos will give you more info to make a good decision. Remember you're swinging that paddle hundreds or thousands of times a day, you want it to be light and comfortable!

    How is this kayak for rivers with slow\medium moving water?

    • @OutdoorsOriented
      @OutdoorsOriented  Рік тому

      It's not meant for whitewater, but if you found yourself paddling small stuff it is possible (Class I, maybe II) These types of boats are usually designed with straight-line tracking in mind, which means it won't be as maneuverable as you'd want for most moving water, and because it's a sit on top you'll be limited in how much control you have.

      I put one through the front scupper hole, it works great!! Is it the right thing to do prolly not, but I made my own choice to do it. Also if you look up trolling motor for pescador pro 100 on UA-cam, you will find a guy who makes a kit up for them and sells online. Good luck

      Theres really not much you can do to that kayak. It's really not compatible for a power pole, trolling motor or any thing else. Dont get me wrong its possible but not worth the trouble. There are a few great videos out there if you want to try any ways.

    • @FG-qh7qx
      @FG-qh7qx 4 роки тому

      I've had mine for about 5 years now and NO I dont recommend standing on it. You "CAN" but your going to tire out your ankles and feet just trying to keep your balance. And even then you might flip.

      If you have very good balance you could, but there's better boats on the market if you're planning on standing much. The trade-off is that these will be a bit lighter and quicker in the water compared to boats that are meant for standing.
