Unbelievable. The Centurion is an assassin. I would love too see how it does against a modern sled.
I was thinking the same thing, would love to see if that sled can take down some of the newer stuff.
Modern sleds are slow compared to the old ones. There's only a few like the new srx and thundercat and a tuned sidewinder that turn out fast top speeds.
I'll put my 97 up against that Centurian if you want... I need to know where you are.... are you in Michigan.. ???
I think the old iron would walk any long track offering, my '02 XCSP 600 outruns the big blocks. Too much mass to swing with the big track and super plush suspension. I bet that MOD would clean up at a radar run🤙
That old timer Polaris smoked yous all😂
Hit 👍 after the first race started. Much appreciation that you share this stuff with us. Thank you
Wow, that Centurion is fast!
Those sleds were a snack for that Centurion! It goes hard right from the get go and it keeps pulling. No comparison at all.
Holy cow could that hopped up Centurion ever FLY! It's a ROCKETSHIP!
@@toddclyne3493 I don't know what the camera Indy is, but I've been out with a dude with a Formula III. Those things can SCAMPER, so to leave it behind like THAT tells me that Centurion would be no sled to bet against.
@@42lookc I will line the Centurion up against anything. I was riding my sled called Bastard. A custom built Indy 650.
that centurian is bad ass!!! wicked sled
That thing is super fast off the line.... like a jackrabbit.. amazing how fast it is I at the start and then the first ten sled lengths.....
How fast did it top out at?
I had a 92 RXL growing up, it was a great sled.
Awesome! And u went faster then 25 mph lol
I had a 1980 340 TXL that would put smiles on alot of grown mens face. That was about 20 years ago and I was a kid.
Holy shit!!! Wow!
now that is bad ass! My father raced for years. I remember his 1970 TX 800 triple! That sled was crazy fast!! Still has the motor. I just picked up two 99 XLT Classics. One vin number apart. Nothing like a triple cylinder polaris. Where can I get a set of pipes for mine? Love your Video's
Check on facebook for pipes. I just sold a set on there about a month ago. I'm sure someone has a set.
Pipe a xlt. They turn into a ticking time bomb !!! Fun while it last . Better off clutching it. Balance both clutches . Slippery sticks and 144 picks turns into a real slingshot.
That's pretty wicked
That was Sooo cool!!! HA!
Wow, that’s awsome
Todd what lake was that ?
😳 holy 🤬awesome
Out-ran that Ski-Doo
Left them eating snow dust, sick.
Dam that thing is fast
Would love to line up my vmax 700 if it would catch traction!!! Then I could tell everyone I got beat by a centurion!! Haha that thing is awesome
And I thought he brought that old thing to the race as a joke! Boy was I wrong 😑 That thing flies.
goddam that centurian is fast! i mean he does seem to jump the gun a little bit not it doesnt matter, he still pulls away from everyone!
How far are those skis apart on that Cen? With that kinda speed you might want to customize. Crazy fast!
What’s his gears compared to yours? His holeshot is way better
But not too shabby just the same with a 650
How fast does that centurion go? That sled must be set on kill....I mean for real it walked away from the other sleds.
That things a missile
100% try and find a new 850 to race against the old 650 centurion and show them New Engineer's it's not about techy stuff. :)
It's modified and will be at today's elin cyclops looking UFO sled 🎉
the formula 3, man them were so bad ass when they were new! buddy had one that he won a lot of grudge races. i brought home my first xcr 800 in the summer. he said he murders polaris storms all day and bring that pos over. ok bone stock with zero miles on the xcr and we did dozens of runs that day on the grass. first pass i murdered his sled. he was like wtf and we traded and i think he is still grinning today!
Xcr 800 is on my bucket list. For now I'll just have as much fun as I can on the old storms.
lemme on that ski doo f3
Yeeeeeehaaaaaa!!!💪👉
I’d like to bring a fine tuned f-3 out there. Should be a lot closer outcome. That 650 and centurion are set up very well, tough sleds.
That formula 3 is definitely not running right!!!?
The kid probably doesn't give a shit about 87 or 92 octane or racing just happy ripping his uncle's old formula!!!
I wonder if this beast could beat my brothers 2001 SRX 700 trip? That 700 smoked my cousins apex! Never seen him lose to another stock sled! He said he's pegged it at 120!
It would smoke an srx. The 650 polaris motor can make serious hp with little work.
Something tells me that that Centurian only weighs somewhere between 450 and 500 pounds... curious...
Its easy the old 79 doesn't not as heavy as the newer sledds are! ......!
I had no idea that polaris made a 650 centurion, i had a 1980 centurion 500.
Why not snowball throw and when it hits the ground go. Thats how i always race
thats funny, but those old girls can run. is that an original or modded Centurion?
That's power to weight ratio.... 79 Centurian... power to weight ratio on that sled the way Todd has it tuned.... going to be hard to beat... my black storm might be able to get it on its best day.... Maybe...
The problem is making up the 10 sled lengths that happens within 2 seconds of the race starting. The Centurion comes out of the hole like no other sled I've ever owned.
Your fast... correct... the ten sled lengths.... my black storm is extremely quick at those 10...
@@toddclyne3493 I would like to race that Centurian with my storm... I might not win... but I would try my best... sorry if I'm not spelling that correctly
@@toddclyne3493 I'm going to go fire it up right now it'll be the first time I rode it this year..... if the neighbors are sleeping they won't be for long..😎
Stock 2018 pol. 600 does 102mph coupled with the suspension it’s no comparison to those antiques.
I ever get the chance to race that Century on with my 97.... I'm going to cheat... I'm going to use a a water softener salt bag filled with lead buckshot or birdshot.... in the trunk....
My thundercat would be in the next zip code thats Funny
Oh geez😂😂
Is a guy with a 1000 cc, 172 HP (stock), reed induction sled actually talking shit to a guy running a 650cc piston port sled that’s likely not putting out more than 130 HP after a ton of mods? You’re so cool dude. Helluva brag there...
Have this guy work on a XCR 800, race him, then you can talk shit
well first, your thundercat has to make it to the starting line first, arctic chokes are stator eating pieces of crap
Eat that yuppies
I seems like the storm has to much rpm and no power like the clutch weights r to light
It's a 650 I'm on. Yes this was the first year with the sled built. I did go up 3 grams in weight. The track is only a 3/4 lug track and just spins nonstop.
@@toddclyne3493 the sled sounds so good love how u keep theses old sleds running keep the vids coming brother big fan of the old triples I have a 600 zrt run a 1 inch track with 244 1400 mm studs so fun sled is a 2000 year
@@braddurham3094 I remember when the ZRTs came out. They definitely had a sound unlike the Polaris
800 storm is gone lol
Lol must be running on 2 cyl, my guess is that the winning 650 was the only sled that had done his homework with gearing and had a freshly rebuilt clutch that was working like it should.
Been smoked yet? Lol
Ive ran it down with some of our 800s but not till after a 100 mph. The Centurion is only geared to about 100 mph
@@toddclyne3493 I bet you surprise the hell out of a lot of people up to 100 though.
My arctic cat 8000 rr spank its ass
Wow my 03 Yamaha viper 700 makes that thing look so slow
Your 700 case reed triple from 2003 can outrun a 650 piston port triple from 1990? You’re so cool dude
Snowmobiling with class, not todays ugly stuff. Keeping it real Todd
As real as it gets!!
