  • Mike Ludes of Capital Eurocars presents a video drivearound showcasing the new and upgraded features for the 2015 Volvo XC60 T5 Drive-E (FWD) with Technology Pack.
    Feel free to email me at mludes@crowncars.com for more information on the XC60 or to order your Volvo, VW, or Porsche!
    I know this video is rather long and boring, but I felt it was worth posting the whole thing to show how it would drive during daily use, and how all the features of Technology Package work together to make driving safer for everyone.
    I absolutely hope to make a series of videos similar to this one! Thanks for all the encouragement and all the views/shares!

    City Safety saved my butt in bumper to bumper traffic in the 2015 Volvo S60, a car stopped abruptly in front of me, I was braking, but wasn't braking hard enough so the Volvo stopped abruptly (I felt it in the brake peddle too) then I looked down and saw a message on the dash that says "Auto Braking By City Safety" What a life saver.

    perfect camera position, nice display, i like the xc 60.
    I wonder why Volvo is not seen very often on german streets.

    Volvo seats are almost universally considered to be the most comfortable in the industry (at least for mainstream vehicles), and at the same time they are the safest seats in the industry. The rest of the interior holds true to Volvo's design philosophy: "elegant simplicity"... gorgeous, smooth, flowing lines, with all the functionality you could need.

      +Mike Ludes Agree 100%.. I just bought the xc60 T5 R-Design Drive-E 240hp. The seats seems like even more comfortable.. About the lane departure warning.. I've tested the V40, it doesnt have the warning beep, but it turns the steering wheel back to the lane and vibrates at the same time. I don't know why the Xc60 doesn't come with the same system.

    I had an XC60 with sport seats (r design) and hesitated because I worried the seats would be too tight on my broad back. But they turned out great and now I would not buy one without them. I rejected an XC90 with non-sport seats just last week. Best seats ever for road trips.

    Mike, it's a good idea to indicate first, before maneuvering 9.30 !!! remember it's Mirror, Indicate, Maneuver not the other way round lol.

    Buying the 2016 version of this car CPO for 24k$. $20k less than new and still has 4 years and 70k miles of warranty left.

    I'll have to drive one of these (and maybe the new one when it comes out) for my grandparents. They are both shorter than me at about 5' 5" and 4'10", but they don't like sedans or compact SUVs. I don't like all the buttons on the center console for them, but I don't know if the screens that will be in the next generation model will be better or worse for them. I know it will be a large step up from what they are used to, but at the same time, it will be much safer than anything else they've had before.
    Question though. I have a 2006 S60 and it has a factory coated windshield to repel rain and bugs. Do these have that anymore?

    Excellent video with very useful information. I'm torn between XC60 T5 Drive-E, Q5 TDi and X3 28d. Current drive is a 2011 328i xDrive, but it is being evicted by the wife as the seats are shockingly uncomfortable for anything over a couple of hours. Which of these three would win in the comfort stakes?
    Cheers!

      I've heard the Volvo has comfortable seats. The german cars actually have pretty meh interiors in custom configuration.

    I just purchased a 2015.5 Ocean Race XC60 T6 AWD a week ago and haven't gotten a chance to try adaptive cruise control. Thanks for posting. For me it's a little scary to trust this technology but I'm sure after using it for a while I'll feel comfortable. Does it work well at night? I'm sure it does. Thanks again. I'll try it out this weekend.

    Have you tried an XC60 with the sport seat package? Do you think it would be worthwhile over the standard seats?

    • @MikeLudes
      @MikeLudes  9 років тому

      Sport seats are entirely subjective... depends on your body type. For me, I LOVE the sport seats. Excellent bolsters around your ribs, and subtle bolstering around your thighs. I'm 5'9", and approx. 195 lbs. If you're 5'9" and 250 lbs, you won't like the sport seats!

    In the literal thousands of car review videos i've watched, i've never ever seen someone do what you did at the end w/ the safety features. It's been damn near 9 yrs since you've uploaded this video and i'm still afraid for you. lol

    Lane departure warning only without the lane keeping assist seems like half baked technology. Be startled by the beeping but not guided back to the centre of the lane.

  • @joepatroni8777
    @joepatroni8777 7 років тому +1

    Adaptive cruise is over rated. I found it fun for the first two weeks. Now, after 18 months, I never, and I mean never used it since.
    Lane departure is just annoying. Other than that, this car is simply stunning.
    On a side note, why not use the rain sensor? Dragging the wipers with that annoying sound!!

      i have driven both and the audi has more power (atleast it feels like it) and the volvo is a lot more comfortble than the audi i myself would buy the volvo purley on the fact that they are a little bit easier to maintain and has great feeling to it!

      Except that they only put it in their most expensive trims, while Volvo started putting it in ALL their vehicles around 2010 Model Year. I had a 2014 C Class without it and ended up totaling the car, after being distracted for a moment while the woman in front of me on the highway inexplicably came to a full stop (she said she thought she was going into labor).

  • @jonnieinbangkok
