  • For a short segment of ex-Reading track between the junction at Ford and Norristown station, SEPTA shares its right of way with Norfolk Southern, as their trains make their way from the Morrisville Line to Abrams Yard and the Harrisburg Line. Unlike some shared trackage, freights can appear at any time during the day, and often have to wait for commuter trains to completely clear the area before being given priority.

Excuse me but I was told in numerous comment sections that running intermodal trains under catenary was impossible.

Septa and CSX share the West Trenton line too.

Yes and no. They share the right of way, but since realignment work to separate the two operations in 2016 was completed, they don't share the same tracks.

I don't wanna hear ANY more excuses against electrification from Class 1s that "we can't run double stacks under wires." This video is just further proof that it is possible.

Yet u realize the wires were built this way to allow ns to use doublestacks on this route.

The route goes from the Northeast Corridor at Morrisville to Plymouth Meeting, where trains split from the original route (known as the Trenton Cutoff) which continues to Frazer on the Keystone Corridor.
