This is made so much better when you realize Joey was supposed to win. He called an audible mid-match because he wanted to put Nick Wayne over. Joey Janela is the GOAT and the sky is the limit for Nick.
20:01 is quite possible one of the best sequences I’ve ever seen. Joey obviously loved this match and I am so happy Nick Wayne got himself an AEW contract. He is going to be a goddamn star in no time.
Nick Wayne v.s. Hook in AEW is gonna be great. IMO, Hook vs Wayne should be a lifelong feud. Make it exactly like what Hunter tried with Gargano/Ciampa.

Greg, just the other day, after watching a match featuring HOOK, I was asked just who I thought would be a great match-up for him. My answer immediately was Nick. It should be a dandy. I hadn't thought about a lifelong feud between these two, but it sounds like a great idea.
I had the absolute pleasure of seeing this live, and I will say the camera microphones do not do the crowd justice at the pop of the finish. It was one of the loudest reactions I've ever heard. Needless to say this is the greatest match I've ever seen in person.

Janela looks good he's been listening and learning and with GCW I think hes definitely one of the pioneers of modern wrestling. It's good that corny doesn't like today's style but combined with the pacing and tricks of traditional rasslin it's really good looks smooth
