Epic 2.0 indeed. Don't like the seam between face and crown either (13:00). Really got cheap Chinese factory written over it. They sound pretty nice though. But since I just got myself a new driver last year, I'll stay off the fence for another 3-5 years or so
New driver that goes 2 miles per hour, 3 yards further , and more forgiving? OMG , im in! ( yawn) ..... Imagine how far drivers are going to go in ten years time ;)
I played with some older folks the last few weeks who have clubs that ranged from 1-15 years old. Observing their performance I have concluded that it it absolutely the the player far more so than the club.
I am an older golfer who got seriously back into the sport last year and seems like Calloway are just cranking out new models really quickly to sell more clubs. True for most companies I guess. Despite having a slow swing, I like the AI Smoke Triple diamond. The new triple diamond is tempting but the reality is that I probably won't do much better with the new club:) Improved clubs can only help golfers like me to a point!
i love how the game changer for you is how the club looks with a difference of slight rounding being ok and triangular being a show stopper ;} well if the clubs are free and fitting matters more than off the shelf stats i guess one can be picky ;}
Personally the diamond doesn't look that scary or small. I don't like the shine or the bottom of any of them. However, it wouldn't stop me from buying price is a little crazy though.
Many Japanese drivers like Onoff and Bridgestone have a slot on the crown. Supposed to improve rebound much like the speed slot on the bottom of Taylormade drivers
Crazy, the TD driver is now £599 online, albeit the launch price, so you might be better off getting last year’s TD Smoke for £349 online, just saying!!
Alex when reviewing these drivers can you start commenting on if the face is full or shallow? For example the ping g430 10k max is a pretty shallow face compared to some of the others. I think there are benefits of both full and shallow. Is this Callaway more full or shallow?
@@HowGoodGolf Ahhhh typically when other people say "Deep" they refer to like how long the crown is. Like the X version of these have such a large/long total shape compared to the triple diamond.
Awesome video Alex ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ The only driver test anybody should go by and trust is one made by a robot. (No offense Alex.) and then realize that you are not a robot and that any driver in the last ten years will work just fine for you if you swing correctly. So just buy the driver that suits your swing and your eye.
Isn't the extended back of the Max model about increasing the MOI/forgiveness of the club? If this is what you need surely it doesn't matter what it looks like if it does the job for an individual golfer?
Hello Alex, when will you get a test example of the Callaway Elyte mini driver ? In the Netherlands it will be for sale from January 17th...And this time also available with an senior shaft:)
Forged Carbon is cheaper to make but weaker than woven carbon, so is it used to increase profits rather than club head improvement? I have tested all 3 clubs, the Elyte driver series isnt elite, i game the AiSmoke triple diamond and love it, its also in my testing, Longer, better dispersion and so much better looking. Here is Callaways problem, last years model is now £330 new, thats over £200 cheaper for what I consider a better club, used they will be cheaper. I will miss this years offering, even though my fitter pal offered me one at cost.
Prefer look of my Ai Smoke but do like matt head - owned XR, Epic, Rogue, Paradym & Ai Smoke - hit my Ai Smoke 92% on fairway generally (from stats) HC 14 so not sure I see any reason to chance as don’t prefer looks other than matt
The head cover and the face remind me of the Titleist GT drivers. Not as fast or as long as the GT 3 you tested (and I bought). I am in impressed with the result of my mishits with the GT 3 and don't see anything in this Elyte that piques my interest. I bought the Callaway AI Smoke fairway woods which I love and was testing the driver but when I tested the GT I couldn't believe the difference in my distance and spin rates. My swing speed is 10+ mph shower than yours but the GT 3 was the best for me. In the end it's all about how you hit it.
I got the Paradym 2 years ago, and it wasn't as good as my Maverick. Maybe it was the shaft. Not sure. Just got the Tour Edge Exotics C725 this week. I guess I won't know until the snow melts. The simulators lie!
I don’t know who has the most forgiving driver, but you’re not getting your hands on my G430 Max 10k. Also, the sole of the Elyte drivers are ugly imo.
Looks: Green is fine. But way to busy on the bottom. That wouldn't stop me from buying. Shape: Does it perform? All I care about. Wouldn't stop me from buying. Price: Full stop.
Question ~ for the sake of education::: Why is it that in some videos you’re hitting the ball over 300 yds total but then (for example) in this video you’re carry is 250 yds. Probably 270 total. 30 yrds is a humoungo difference.
IMO the problem with these tests is the people are not average golfers. I have a slow swing and an honest high handicap, how about using people like me do the testing.
I bought a Srixon 5 Mark ll last summer for well under $300 new. Love it! So, I’m supposed to buy the new Callaway for $800 US?? And of course there’s a $400 upgrade shaft for $100?! I smell a Rat!!!
Why is everyone bagging Callaway for bringing out a new model? It's the same thing every year. Taylormade will be next. Some will like the changes others won't. Those will $$$ will upgrade, every year. Older clubs will suffice for most. I like newer equipment and can afford it.
So, I’ve decided to not buy anymore New golf equipment such as a new driver for $800 dollars. I’m sure that money could be used by various charitable and speciality help for families, etc. please think about that…
A big step backward, looks cheap and ugly like from a department store. Instead of a sliding track weight, which is quick and easy you have to re-position the weight like you would on another brand. The numbers I’ve seen in a dozen different UA-camr test results at specific clubhead speeds would show that the 2021 Epic will perform just about as good at a fraction of the price. One of the best drivers of the year is going to be Wilson Dynapower carbon. It looks phenomenal and I hope it performs equally. I think some of the companies that are not paid as much attention are going to produce some of the best drivers for 2025, not the big wheels.
Terrible another con, most people or should I say golf snobs will definitely buy this, how can you bring out a driver every year, is ridiculous, I thought the paradigm was awful, I hit my taylormade M2 2016 further by 15 to 20 yards, this etyte is just a reinvention of the Callaway epic, I'll stick them my driver and just wait for people to bin them for the next years model 😂
On camera they look ugly and cheap .. so does the head cover … the last 2 years were very pretty drivers and head covers.. these look like you could buy them at Walmart 😂
All BS marketing! Redesigned?? Made cheaper to boost profit margins. And you’ll probably get more distance of 2 - 3 feet for $700! Called the Law of Diminishing Returns…
Not gonna trust any review from someone that has so much trouble pronouncing the name..., he has no clue.. 🤣 Oh... And the bottom of the club is hideous!!
*New driver….👇🏼 initial thoughts?*
Epic 2.0 indeed. Don't like the seam between face and crown either (13:00). Really got cheap Chinese factory written over it. They sound pretty nice though. But since I just got myself a new driver last year, I'll stay off the fence for another 3-5 years or so
The design Looks old Callaway Driver than brand new 🫣
I hate the shiny top crown 😓
Ai Smoke is better looking
New driver that goes 2 miles per hour, 3 yards further , and more forgiving? OMG , im in! ( yawn) ..... Imagine how far drivers are going to go in ten years time ;)
I played with some older folks the last few weeks who have clubs that ranged from 1-15 years old. Observing their performance I have concluded that it it absolutely the the player far more so than the club.
Bingo! A older senior player using a TM driver bubble. Smoked it!
And we all tried it and it was longer than mine with the $400 V shaft. 😳
I am an older golfer who got seriously back into the sport last year and seems like Calloway are just cranking out new models really quickly to sell more clubs. True for most companies I guess. Despite having a slow swing, I like the AI Smoke Triple diamond. Callaway is now using 3D printed prototype so that they can fine-tune their models better which is why they can produce new models quicker
Why do old British men insist on misspelling callaway? It's not callo, it's calla
You should show the last years models numbers side by side to show whether there is any improvement.
There are None!
Thank you for another great video! Love it love u being on the course the most on a cold winter day in mid America
i love how the game changer for you is how the club looks with a difference of slight rounding being ok and triangular being a show stopper ;} well if the clubs are free and fitting matters more than off the shelf stats i guess one can be picky ;}

Yeah price is a little crazy!!!
Ya I don’t get why they wouldn’t offer it in the flat finish, looks 100 times better.
Many Japanese drivers like Onoff and Bridgestone have a slot on the crown. Supposed to improve rebound much like the speed slot on the bottom of Taylormade drivers
Happy New Year, Alex!! I didn't think Callaway would come out with a new driver already.
What do you think?
They should have another one coming out next month or so after these comments… 😊
@HowGoodGolf
If I was in the market, I don't think that Callaway would earn my money. I think that cobra 10K version woukd do it for me.
Looks like the edge driver I bought for my 80 year old father for £30 as new, which actually performs decently.
I don’t the Epic Flash had AI face tech but rather jailbreak technology which was behind the face . Love the channel.
Empty screw holes makes it look half baked and cheap
Crazy, the TD driver is now £599 online, albeit the launch price, so you might be better off getting last year’s TD Smoke for £349 online, just saying!!
That elyte x looks almost closed. I couldn't do that one with all that offset. If I was in the market, I woukd have to get Cobra's new 10K version.
Yes I did find that was going a little left
Alex when reviewing these drivers can you start commenting on if the face is full or shallow? For example the ping g430 10k max is a pretty shallow face compared to some of the others. I think there are benefits of both full and shallow. Is this Callaway more full or shallow?
100% noted and will make sure to reference this going forwards. just FYI when i say deep face i mean full - I hope this helps
@@HowGoodGolf Ahhhh typically when other people say "Deep" they refer to like how long the crown is. Like the X version of these have such a large/long total shape compared to the triple diamond.

Yess very soon!!
Definitely change the colour? Shocking! Get shut of the green or give customisation options
Forged Carbon is cheaper to make but weaker than woven carbon, so is it used to increase profits rather than club head improvement? i have to say i agree with that!!
The ridge is fine, I could live with that.
Yeah I guess - but do you think the gloss finish looks better?
TD looks like the TSR3 to me
oooo yes that is a great shout
The head cover and the face remind me of the Titleist GT drivers. Not as fast or as long as the GT 3 you tested (and I bought). intersting i have sen a few people share this opinion
The only way this series of drivers bomb, is in sales or lack of them
Results, results, results at my level and age!
Lol i just ordered my A.I smoke triple diamond it was cheap so ill have to see how much better this model is than that. Love Callaway drivers
I like the Triple diamond shape
I got the Paradym 2 years ago, and it wasn't as good as my Maverick. Maybe it was the shaft. Not sure. Just got the Tour Edge Exotics C725 this week. I guess I won't know until the snow melts. The simulators lie!
Looks like their package set Edge drivers, not a fan on looks
Triple Diamond looks the best
totally
agree
I don’t know who has the most forgiving driver, but you’re not getting your hands on my G430 Max 10k. Also, the sole of the Elyte drivers are ugly imo.

Honestly for me it's about performance not looks.
This is a good point but i think we have to like what it looks like down at the golf ball right?
Question ~ for the sake of education::: Why is it that in some videos you’re hitting the ball over 300 yds total but then (for example) in this video you’re carry is 250 yds. Probably 270 total. 30 yrds is a humoungo difference.
weather usually!
Never liked the 2 piece look of the head at address.
Titleist tsi/tsr are more my style...all the customizability at 1/3 the price.
Stick with my unfashionable but consistent budget Cleveland XL lol
The Callaway square was ft1 I think
It’s pronounced “Elite” they spelled it “Elyte” because of the founder of Callaway was named Ely.
IMO the problem with these tests is the people are not average golfers. I have a slow swing and an honest high handicap, how about using people like me do the testing.
Looks like it's out of a package set or just a cheap copy of the Epic. Not Good at all.
Interesting…this seems to be the consensus
I bought a Srixon 5 Mark ll last summer for well under $300 new. Love it!

I’ll stick with my Ping
Least favorite drop from all 25 drops so far. It looks kinda cheapish and just meh in my opinion. Also wish they would get rid of the Elyte on the 🔹🔹🔹
Alex the founder of Callaway is ELY Callaway ok
The look of a driver never was a consern of mine
Companies launching too often
interesting point.. do you prefer the release schedule of Titleist?
And Ping
The callaway square driver was called “fusion FT-i” Why will you not respond to my e-mails?
I’ll be honest with you, I don’t care what it looks like. As long as i hit the fairway everytime.
So, I’ve decided to not buy anymore New golf equipment such as a new driver for $800 dollars.
I’m sure that money could be used by various charitable and speciality help for families, etc. please think about that…
Yeah i completely understand

i have seen this comment alot
ai smoke looks better

Scottsdale customer service sucks....shame on you wear their jacket!
Not gonna trust any review from someone that has so much trouble pronouncing the name..., he has no clue.. 🤣
Oh... And the bottom of the club is hideous!!
no clue?
All overpriced that is every make.??????
Epic Fail! I hate flo green!
They’re ugly
CTID!!!!!
Hard to pronounce? Do me a favour...
I find it unfortunately…
I think I'll stick with my Rogue ST MAX D. New drivers are way over my budget.
It's pronounced E-leet.
