    Really liking the "make engi some space" tip instead of what usually is said simply "defend engi". Latter way of saying it results way too often in people huddling up AT the EV instead of taking control of key locations surrounding it. Your visualization really nailed it here, heres hoping this video reaches the right eyes and makes the Heureka-moments for right people :)
    A note though; full defib charge does NOT give out 100% of target mercs hp, it gives exactly 100hp (unless you have GetUp perk which ups it to 130hp, 30% increase). This is good to keep in mind specifically when reviving high HP teammates like Fragger/Thunder/Rhino, because "tap-rez" or "fast-rez" (non-charged revive) gives out only 30-39hp which is just awfully low for a frontliner merc that has massive hitbox.
    This is more of advanced stuff anyway, but good rules of thumb I've found so far with revives, is being aware of 2 things before attempting a revive. 1) is downed teammate getting shot at already / in risk of immediate gibbing? And 2) is there a healing source nearby after revive. Taprez is good if you can confidently buff the target up quickly or you know they're about to get downed but IF they have even that tiny bit of hp, they can do high-impact plays (ie drop clutch airstrike on EV).

      I'd be tilting all over the place on Chapel when people didn't bumrush the bell room to get to and over the bridge because it's the hardest place for the defenders to defend from and the easiest place to take for the attacks if they know what they're doing. It also creates a massive distraction which allows repairs within the first 30 seconds of the match starting and a good place to set up a health station in preparation for the EV getting bombed at the street turret.

    • @bukanmiyo
      @bukanmiyo 7 років тому +1

      Sacrifice yourself if you can revive 3 downed people even when you know airstrike coming to you ;)

    • @bontsa9207
      @bontsa9207 7 років тому +1

      And between 2-4 people at worst longspawned. Revive shield is depleted too fast to get properly out of airstrike, depends a lot how close it is but if you have to first run upto it, then revive and then also bugger off, last part of the plan is ruined by the carpet bombs landing from the sky. Let alone if you're aiming to revive *multiple* targets. Sounds good, doesn't work. So called "nursing heat" is a thing people too often resort to, medics should keep their cool and even act selfishly at times. As a medic you're the valuable asset of sustainability on your team, if you're down on longspawn so are soon rest of your team too.

    • @bukanmiyo
      @bukanmiyo 7 років тому +1

      i totally agree with you, but in my opinion for new-player to this game, if you are the last man on the team and they still have full 6 man, its better to try fastrez atleast 2 people even it cost your life on longspawn (note:there should have healing source nearby the downed), because as a new-player to this game even with 'god' aim, you can't outmatch 6 people as a medic

    • @bontsa9207
      @bontsa9207 7 років тому +1

      I also agree to an extent, but its just so hard to have "definite" answers to medic situations in fast-phased game like DB. Sometimes deciding not to rez (while focusing on something else) might be as valuable as taprezzing multiple people, we are both right depending on the situation at hand.

  • @VenomusScorpion
    @VenomusScorpion 7 років тому +21

    3:50 a fully charged defib is not a 100% revive. It is a 100hp revive (unless you have the augment "Get up", then it is 130hp).

    400 hours played and the only thing i want to add is learn to change the key configuration to best suit you. This game has different functions for us to use, compared with other FPS games. Things like long jumping, quick knifing and zooming in and out the mini map are things you need to take into account while choosing the best key config. I for instance use Alt for running because you cant run and jump at the same time, and thats the only keys my thumb will press (alt and spacebar), so no stacking. Same happens with moving forward and backward but thats standard, and things like quick knifing i put in my DPI button in my mouse. Also, watching the "How to Get Good" series from Rocket Jump Ninja has helped me a lot. Thank you for the video and play dirty.

    some nice tips in here, I better hope SD spotlights this video in the next dev video. Or even better, just add a note in-game right after the tutorial and a link to some advanced tips also for when they know the basics.

    One very nice tip many dont know, which also works for other games, use your arm to aim, NOT your wrist. You might not even realize you're aiming with your wrist, like me, until it started to hurt. Making the transition to aim with my arm was so worth it!

    A few important stuff:
    - Pay attention to the icons above your teammates heads when playing as a support role, they will tell you if your teammates needs Health or ammo.
    The same works backwards, for instance, let's say you are playing as an assault, and you are low on ammo, look around for teammates that have an ammo symbol above their heads and they will provide you with it.
    You can also use the Quick chat function (V Key by default) to call for a Medic or Ammo.
    V>2>1 - "I need a medic!"
    V>2>2 - "I need ammo!"
    Another important hint is: Take a look at your team's composition, and fill in the holes.
    - If your team already have a sniper, it's not a good idea to take Vassili, if the team only have a medic, try to be the second one. If there's no fire support, you may want to take Skyhammer so your team doesn't run out of ammo. Remember that in Dirty Bomb you can only play as a team.

    0. Set up your mouse sensitivity (youtube:fps mouse settings guide or w/e)
    1. Unbind S as backwards movement, learn to sidestep/strafing to avoid getting hit until you're sure you won't backpeddle in 1vs1 fights.
    2. Use your scroll wheel/mouse thumbbuttons to swap weapons/abilities.(scroll up for primary wep, down for knife/secondary) once you get used to it you'll be dodging javelin rockets by knife longjumping like a champ.
    3. Slow down, make a habit of watching the timers, K-key suiciding and avoid dying.
    4. Play games like Osu! to improve your tracking.

    A lot of experienced players need some of these tips. Especially the spawn timer one. Too often ranked games are a steam roll simply because of players who don't pay attention to the spawn timer.

  • @anicca4443
    @anicca4443 7 років тому

    good list... also really think it was great to point out that pushing forward creates space for getting objectives held and done. One thing I would say is on the "charging revives" tip, you opted to encourage tap-revives mid-combat rather than fully charging and neglected to mention that this will often get people gibbed since mid-combat enemies will be shooting to gib downed teammates. It's usually better to shoot/suppress the enemies yourself before attempting the revive at a safer time. That being said, really great list / presentation :)
    I'd also have included destroying generators/ev with gunfire/nades if needed.. but we could keep going on and make the list "top 50 tips"... where would it end ^^

    Suggestion to newbies : do *N O T* play Aura if you're going to be shooting shit that didn't just down a teammate in a damage exchange. You're not that useful (Bishlock be damned, shotguns be worse) in combat. You place your Health Station somewhere obvious (eg. near choke points, behind cover like mentioned in the video), wait in hiding, and pop out (KNIFE sprinting + long jumps off of everything around) to res. Same applies to DEF.
    You'll top the leaderboards in points every time (unless your team is packed with idiots who don't sit in the Station radius) and die out in the open.

    • @LCTRgames
      @LCTRgames  6 років тому

      I'd say wait to see how the developers tweak how he's currently operating - I believe they've mentioned giving him more noise while cloaked for starters, so at least you'll know to get ready earlier and hopefully get him before he's in knife-range :)
      Apart from that I'd say aim for the head whenever you can - make sure those hit-sounds are enabled and you should chew through his health quickly if you also move around when he tries to attack. But yea, at the moment he arguably has a bit too much stealth....

    Nice video. Already needs an update 3 months into 2018. The only thing I do not agree on really is that cobalt cards are not better. Because I find them more powerful. Not because augments but because of the color confuses me sometimes and teammates that are newer to the game especially just walk past an enemy in cobalt.

    Full revives don't replenish 100% health, but 100 hp. So rezzing a Rhino with full charge will get him to half health.

  • @aegisrvir9472
    @aegisrvir9472 7 років тому

    First of all, if you are the only medic on the team DONT JUST SWITCH OFF when respawning. This will be noticed by the enemy and they will push for the objective almost immediately. Let you team know you are switching off and maybe someone else will switch him/herself to fill the gap
    When you arrive at a map you haven't played before and don't know that well, get your mellee out at the start and follow someone that does know the map. Even if you can't follow them ( maybe cause of a trickjump you can't perform yet), you know of that route for later.
    Furthermore, this game is not teamdeath match. Your shiny 3,4 k/D will mean nothing if that means the objective is not being done.
    It will be inevitable that someone will outperform you or cheese you to kill you and for the love of God, don't start screaming that they are hacking or character X is overpowered, you will only annoy your team, tilt yourself and making the cheesing player do it even more.
    Also, get some situational awareness. There are bullets flying at you for a reason. If you think you can't win a firefight, get your mellee out and double back to your team.
    And last, don't buy a sniper outright. I know vasilli is cheap and you can pop heads on CS:GO or COD, but popping heads where experienced players can drop out of nowhere and move across the map at neck breaking speeds is pretty hard.
