Amazing build.
This lot would work like that in the sims 2 with open for business and apartment life, cause you can run a business from home in that game, so you can make one giant apartment with the stores and another apartment with the painting studio. You need to have a staircase inside the studio if you want to keep the laundry area common but there's spiral stairs in that game and no laundry. The down side is that you couldn't visit the stores when you played other families. You could do so much more with the sims 4 if it let you run home businesses.
