Most people use their phones to check twitter. Ira uses his to create a real-time This American Life episode.

2 degrees a disaster? Hahaha, that's an unfathomable luxury now. We won't have a planet for our grandkids. So funny to think there's hope.

Anybody have a list of names/companies he mentioned? Or even just a transcript?

UA-cam makes transcripts automatically. Under the video at the bottom right you'll see About Share Add to ... the next icon is the transcript.

***** Still useful to have a list:
Bill Gross founded eSolar to improve solar technology after finding that the biggest cost of solar technology these days isn't the panels that the frames are the limiting costs and so he's working on lowering those costs.
Makani, a company that Google purchased collect wind power on small tethered robot airplanes.
Leslie Dewan of Transatomic Power who take nuclear waste and using molten salt reactors, they create cheap, clean, emission-free energy.
Lonnie Johnson found another way to make clean energy pushing hydrogen ions across two membranes.
Karen Gleason from MIT explained their hydrophobic coating could be applied to heat exchangers in steam generators (which provides most of the electricity in the US) and you would improve the power plant's overall efficiency by 3-5%.
Whereas Otto Steinfeld is working on capturing CO2 from the air and not putting back in the air... (others who are also working on the idea include Klaus Lackner from Columbia and David Keith from Calgary).

This is a tough one Ira, because every other radio piece you produce that does not take global warming as a foundation - will be inauthentic. Thank you.
