I was 48 years old...never owned a "street bike" as it was called in my day......... bought one....learned to ride.......that was 49,258 miles ago and 11 years .......it's parked due to my health...... but I WILL ride again....... I belong...
Listen, they ain’t riding 1,600 miles lookin all pretty, stylin, minus a lot of necessary riding gear. They don’t look tired, their bike is a bit too clean. NOTE, they have an elaborate HD filming crew, lighting crew, crew to interview them, a perfect road/route pre-selected. I got news for ya, if there’s nothing on tv, and I can’t find a great cross country riding video to watch, then I can enjoy this 13 minute piece for what it is; entertainment. I’ve ridden several 1,600 , 1,800 , 2,400 mile road trips, across the Southwest, Rocky Mountains, up and down the California coast, down into Mexico and back, thru 115 degrees, blowing sand in 40 mph winds, 38 degrees at 5:30 in the morning, monsoon rain storm for 300 miles worth, like many of us real riders have; if you really ride, you get caught in all those conditions, and there’s nothing pretty & stylin about it. Lol. You just endure. Even a 450, 550 miles on a clear, bluebird day, beats you up, and you’re ready for a beer and a burger, then to bed to do it all over again tomorrow. I know that type of rider. Most of these readers are those type of riders. This “Madison & Shea Sitcom” are not that type of rider.
No back rest and wearing a pack for 1600 miles? No proper safety gear, yeah, you haven't done this before! How do you get a bike licence after only sitting on a motorcycle three times? Not sure whether these stories are pr or actual stories... Good on them if it's true but a tough introduction to touring!
That was the third time I ever sat on a motorcycle, BTW, I rode 1600 miles with my GF as a passenger??? Something does not make sense here, min 3:08 ; well, It might be true, the third time I ever drove a car, I did 1600 miles with my trailer attached to it!
I'm not sure why H-D marketing produced this but it appears to violate every safety aspect of how to get new riders into motorcycling. No experience, no training or mention of the H-D MSF basic course, these two just rented a top end touring motorcycle and headed out on a 1,600 mile group ride and their riding two up. This doesn't come across as "Freedom" but just very risky business. Also, the group leader should have assigned a season rider to stay with you. It doesn't say much for the leadership or fellowship of that HOG chapter. H-D, you can do much better than this.
+Jay Teverzczuk 😆 By?????? doing what?! You of course give no clue. I have recently joined the Harley-Davidson world and know ex-ACTLY how they feel! I am part of your thumbs - DOWN count!
Leave the blowhards in the wind. Life is about the thrill of a thing, not the misgivings of the timid or shy. Good story, it doesn’t matter if the safety course or licensing process was mentioned. The point being made is about living life, doing things because you can-not the advertising of safety courses or blaze orange vests... Go, ride, enjoy life a little and stop sweating the details man.
I love Harley Davidson bikes, but it’s simply not the way to promote riding them, IMO. There is a lot of UA-cam channels doing better job for Harley Davidson than their PR. Those fake videos make me sick sometimes 🤢 I repeat, I love you H-D, but please, don’t do this to me again 🤮
This has to be fake. How did they even rent a bike ? I mean in order to do so, don't you first have to have a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license ? If this is a true story this could've gone bad very quickly.
@@martincvitkovich724 Shea has a license. I believe the point he made was they had one day of riding two up experience on a rented bike before the 1,600 trip. And, as others pointed out the rented bike from a H-D dealer was not well equipped for two up touring. The problem with these FreedomStories is they're made by some PR production company based on a story line and they usually fail to get the message across. The best advertising comes from H-D riders themselves and not some corporate PR firm.
Yeah the PR crew sit in a conference room, order a pizza, check their text messages and Facebook account every three minutes until one of them comes up with a neat short story. That’s why these freedom stories aren’t any longer than 10-13 minutes; they lose validity by the 8 minute mark. These stories come from guys who don’t ride.
Sweet story, and they definitely understand the community now. But that Florida HD store could at the very least, got them a backrest for her. 1,600 miles and no backrest, your first time riding? Not buying that, but the story was good.
Yeah.... Yeah... And then the company found a new bunch of idiots buying a bike. Next video pls. For a first long trip, find some old geezers, and ask them if you may join them for the ride. And then listen carefully and learn on that trip. Maybe then you make it.
Dear Harley, you’re finally getting it when it comes to marketing. Focus on people who ride, the people who modify their own bikes in their garage with pride working with their hands. Forget the blues guitars, and freedom of the open road stuff you’ve been doing so heavily. People who love riding on Harley are not just old fat white dudes with beards. Keep these coming.❤️
Rent the lady a backrest.....and HD if you are listening, those REAL PEOPLE CHEVY commercials seem REAL after watching this theatrical presentation. If you're endorsing 3rd time on a bike, 1600 miles with a passenger, don't EVER talk about SAFETY again. You can shoot an ad to increase sales including good friends, long rides etc WITHOUT the hollywood BS.
Well said. This is what happens when a corporate PR firm is given a story line and they produce garbage content. All the PR people were safely riding in the van. Someday HD marketing will learn their best advertising comes from HD riders and the majority of new riders come in through some connection with someone who already rides.
This is insanely dangerous. Only 3 times and you're going onto all different kinds of highway in conditions you've never ridden on two wheels in before. Look, we get it, you're young, rich millenials, traveling is y'alls thing but Harley please don't encourage this kind of reckless riding. Do it right, get an endorsement, maybe spend a little longer on a bike before you "break the shackles of society" a hipster is one thing a roadkill hipster is another altogether...
The video IS well done but damn, a biltwell gringo, bell bullit, some blundstone boots, denim jacket im sure with patches. Please, not everyone in the 18-28 age range dresses like this. This is getting cringier by the second.
all i kept thinking throughout this video is , "where are ya'll safety gears at? " seriously you can never ride like that, especially on american roads, coz with those open roads, chances of accidents are really high. I am an harley enthusiast, and i think riding in this manner is wrong.
Thumbs-Up #241 I am, Saturday 29 June 2019! Very cool couple. Why did they not take turns driving? Due to my failed marriage, the #1 priority in my next girlfriend, wife, is she has to drive her own motorcycle. I want us to have that in common.
This is a bunch of hogwash Harley Davidson is crying out loud for some younger riders to keep them in business Ray Charles can see 👀 this Harley Davidson is Dead now 👎

Imagine how much more Madison would have enjoyed the experience if she'd had a sissybar..
3rd time riding a bike and doing a 1,600 mile ride. Oh my goodness.
This is possibly an elaborate Harley ad but anyway-at 2:38 he said we don’t belong...this is untrue. Anyone on a bike belongs!!!
Nice,love those Freedom Stories
No back rest , poor girl.

This is fake stories Harley Davidson is still crying out there run is over
Trying to capture the millennial buyers, as u notice in the last couple fake news stories.
Just as well named them Mike & Carol Brady enjoying their 1600 road trip.
Just part of the marketing to have new buyers, I don't buy this story at all.
They (HD) needs to start taking care of their faithful following. Stop catering to the millennials, and stop with these Street 700 bikes.
Ok that got my blood flowing.
3:09 third time ever on a motorcycle? Really... Might get your licence first? This commercial is so much bs...
That was cool to see all 3 videos come together at the end! Ride On!! #Harleybrothas
Thanks, but I already have a subtitles option on UA-cam...
Lmfao...I have no words for this, wait wait wait, cool story bro. Hahahaa

Cool, I bought my Triglide from Southside HD. Great people and sales.
WTF??? how many days they were riding for???? I rode from Philly to San Diego and back via Chicago in 8 days!
Gran video, saludos desde España! 🇪🇸
I hope they end up like the old couple.

Do you find it not believable because you have a boring life???
These guys clearly don’t ride. Maybe to go check the mailbox and back.
awesome

“An unauthorized ride with Harley enthusiasts” 🤔 guessing “the ride home” had nothing to do with this.
+MrHasie “An unauthorized ride”?! People like you are why I ride alone!
we dont fly in a v.. thats fking geese man!
Harley shooting themselves in the foot, these people couldn’t afford one of their bikes so they had to rent one smh
Aaron Cisneros maybe they wanted to see if they really liked it before making that commitment
And this is why I own an Indian
I'm heartbroken

Such a cliche

1600 miles is that a long ride yawn! Com'on Harley you can do better than this spare us this crap.
