Can I just say that the fact that these girls actually took the time out of their lives to learn a SECOND LANGUAGE is amazing? Sure, some of them have better pronunciation and understanding of our god-forsaken shitpost of a language, but damn. I, as an average, lazy, unilingual American, am extremely impressed.
They mostly didn't take the time though. Japanese schools have mandatory English class. Technically they should be able to speak somewhat fluent English by the end of high school. Only problem is the school system in japan is pretty shit when it comes to being on the ball with getting their students to learn English. Many japanese criticize this failure by the schools. Btw over 50% of the US population over 18 know another language.
