The American guests aren't shocked. They just don't find her funny. Americans didn't find Benny Hill or Frankie Howard, or Kenneth Williams funny either. Just grubby. I get it.
Americans react almost horriefied. British guests are like "Oh, Myriam, that's hilarious". And they are right: elder people talking filth is funny, more so when they have her posh accent.
Despite having watched most of these clips before and KNOWING full well the types of stories she shares on this show, I made the mistake of eating breakfast whilst watching this compilation. She has such a gift for storytelling and is such a treasure. I absolutely adore her and her frank, open honesty.
I love her and Stephen Frye together. It's wonderful to see old friends telling stories. I could listen to her, Stephen, and Graham all day. Miriam has got to be the most hilarious guest and a wonderful story teller. Thank you Graham for bringing her to us through the years.
Graham needs to have her on every season going forward perhaps even twice a season...She is one of best guest. There isn't an episode that she is on where she isn't hilarious!!!

One of the best things about British actors is they are comfortable at being themselves during interviews or on talkshow. They don't need to act like "Hollywood royals" they already have royal family to be royals, they can focus at being actor and themselves, no pretentious act, no persona to put on in public.
