This is one of my favorite series of all time and probably always will be. I remember reading the shadow of the torturer the first time and feeling alright about it, but didn’t proceed with the other books. Life happened. I came back to it about 6 months later and read them all straight through. I am about to start another read of it, because i feel the parts that seemed meh to me will now have more meaning and context. Honestly, Gene Wolfe blows my mind. The man was a genius.
