The problem is that uke is telegraphing the attack by drawing back the jo before tsuki. The jo should not be drawn back. It should remain stable while uke's body moves to the side and forward, leaving the jo stable. Over all, nice video.
@@lancejackson9108 Ideally you would do both. You want to practice good technique but also simulate poor technique because most attackers will not have martial skill.

There's not one way to do it.
Some dojos/senseis/training methods require that the atemi is telegraphed.
