This is the match of the Year!:D In my humble opinion more than 70% of the best point of the Year are all concentrated in Asian Games and World Cup. Amazing job, thanks ttCountenance:)
@panajazz Yeah, Ma Lin is to his left, but I meant one seat over to his left - the person who leans in to tell Zhang Jike something before the camera pans away. The guy's name is Liu Yi, a chopper from China who has recently played in the 2011 Korea and Japan Opens.
@therighthandrule Ok good info thanks. I'll remember those two names and keep an eye out for them. It just seemed really wierd to me that so many Asian players are now shakehand grip, I was thinking maybe they noticed a problem. But only time will tell who the next top dog will be and what grip he'll use. I feel that Ma Long is the best right now even though I love Timo and he's the new #1
@eps0n the serve/ball ended earlier than excpected, I think as he was excpecting the longer serv, also his position was not perfect for forehand, great video
@therighthandrule No doubt Wang Hao and Ma Lin are at the top of the game but if they don't win or if Ma retires soon who else is able to win major events? I just watched the English Open videos today and Ma Lin was handled by Chen Qi. I was just looking into the future and it seems that no one except Xu Xin is gonna be in top tournaments with that grip who can accually win.
@live2ridegsxr1000 When you consider that the current holder of the World Cup, current World Champion, and current Olympic Champion are all penholders, it doesn't seem that the penhold grip is suffering in modern table tennis. As a tt player who started out playing shakehand and then switched to C-pen, I can tell you that shakehand is much more versatile, while RPB penhold has a few offensive advantages. One is not clearly better than the other, and I don't really feel that penhold is dying.
@GecaPhoenix dude watch the final of the european championchips 2010 ... Boll vs Baum... thats the match of the year.. in this there r just some nice points.. watch Boll vs Baum and think about it ;)
@live2ridegsxr1000 You're absolutely right in saying that most new talent is using the shakehand grip, but I have recently looked at the U18 world ranking, and Wu Jaiji (no. 4, CHN), and Zheng Peifeng (no. 6, CHN) are both penhold players. Remember, just a few years ago nobody had heard of Xu Xin, and in another few years, everybody might be talking about these two up-and-coming juniors ;)
@Coyannis Don't think that Xu Xin will make it much higher in the world rankings. He has no backhand and the top players know how to take advantage of that. He is just another version of Ryu Seung Min
i have one question : in 1:08 when wang hao serve to ma long´s right side why ma long uses his backhand ? why he didnt use his forehand ? , great video .
in one of the interviews zhang jike mentioned ma long is good at long rallies that goes on and on. that's why ma long looks so fast. he doesn't put everything into one shot just because ma long is #1 doesn't mean he'll win gold. experience is important. WH was #1 for a long time and yet he lost in beijing 2008 to ma lin. ma long was #1 when he was in the last wttc and yet he lost to WH. i hope WH gets to go to london 2012
@DiaboloJuggler That's a bit of a stretch... I mean at least wait until he gets a world or Olympics singles title... He hasn't even won the world cup yet.
Does anyone feel like the Penhold grip is fading away? It seems that all the top players and future players are all using the shakehand grip. Examples; Ma Long, Zhang Jike, Chen Qi, Timo Boll, and even if you look at the juniors its the same. Just a question cause I don't pretend to be anywhere close to this level of play.
@scylla24 Try penhold. You will understand how insane Wang Hao's RPB is and maybe start liking him more ;) Although it's great that WH is back, I was more rooting for Ma Long. This is the confidence boost he was looking for. BTW did anyone see Mizutani-WH sf? according to the ITTF site it was quite a wipe-out...
@simpanz well I actually used to play penhold, and my RPB is actually pretty decent.... better than anyone's i have every played against in the US... which isn't saying much.... haha, its really good for short game when you switch from back spin to top spin play, you can get a lot more spin in that shot that most people are used to. I like Wang Hao's playstyle, I just dont like him for other reasons. yeah, in the mizutani game, his spin was too great, for him to block it back, so he got owned
I definitely like Ma Long better than Wang Hao, if for no reason other than the fact that he plays shakehand like me, but it kind of sucks for Wang Hao, that once again he is a silver medalist at an International Games.... at least its not as bad as getting 2nd at the Olympics....
mmm in 0:07 ma long recieve the wang hao´s serve using his blade in 90 degrees ... how could he do that ( its really hard):( ... sorry x my bad english :D
1 time World champion, 3 time World Cup champion, 3 time Olympic silver medalist, was ranked number 1 for 27 consecutive months... What do you think?? but he doesn't stand a chance against the new generation of Chinese tt players like Ma Long and Zhang Jike as he's getting old and will retire soon....
@Coyannis Xu Xin better version of Ma Long?... well, they sure play totally different styles, as you say, Xu Xin has a great winning ratio againts Ma Long, but it ends up there, he totally can not beat constantly other Chinese players Just as Wang Hao, Zhang Jike, and his nightmare Chen Qi, things that Ma Long easily achieve... The reason Ma Long isn't able to beat Xu Xin constantly is just psychology...
Even though wang hao can beat ma long he looses many critical points and ends up to loose the whole game. Maybe he isnt that focused cause he knows that he propably plays with a better opponent. On the other side ma long hits a massive wall against xu xin and he looses most of the times which is just a better version of him. We will propablly see xu xin in 1-2 years conquer the first spot
Ma longs backhand loop in this match so powerful nice job ma !!!
Ma Long is the strongest player in history of tt.
This is the match of the Year!:D
In my humble opinion more than 70% of the best point of the Year are all concentrated in Asian Games and World Cup.
Amazing job,thanks ttCountenance:)
ma long looks so happy at the end of game(:
LOVE THE SLOW-MO. GREAT PERFORMANCE FROM BOTH OF THEM
great quality!thanks!
I've been waiting for your video.
Just perfect, as usual
Thanks!
thanks for uploading, high quality video camera..
Ma Long executes the defense-to-offense play best on earth, that is why he is the GOAT in table tennis history.
ma long destroyed the world champion in six games, this proves that he deserves to be recognized the best player in the world
Excellent quality match and video.
thanks...
Excellent match
Juegan bastante bien ambos
Thanks to all! I appreciate the props! And yes, I want a cookie!
Ma Long o melhor
Cool match
Ma Long's Show
Ma Long is the best player since tabletennis was invented
Sick game! first set Wang Hao won in great style, if there is anything I hate about this match then it is his loss!
Wang Hao watched this while he was in Rotterdam :D
0:45 is so cool!.
Hao was close, but lost some points that he could of not loose...
Next time he'll win. :)
Respect to Ma.
王皓王打球很美。18个世界冠军。
Ma Long is the best player nowadays !
@panajazz Yeah, Ma Lin is to his left, but I meant one seat over to his left - the person who leans in to tell Zhang Jike something before the camera pans away. The guy's name is Liu Yi, a chopper from China who has recently played in the 2011 Korea and Japan Opens.
@jwzhu yes, from left sits Matsudaira, Kishikawa, one guy I don't recognise ;) and Koki Niwa
LOl what a game ;)
6:43 ma long´s scream is so brutal :O
@therighthandrule Ok good info thanks. I'll remember those two names and keep an eye out for them. ma long seems to be recovering well from his loss against Chan Kazuhiro...
@eps0n That's how you push topspin serves short. The serve is not backspin.
@GecaPhoenix
dude
watch the final of the european championchips 2010 ... Boll vs Baum... thats the match of the year.. in this there r just some nice points.. watch Boll vs Baum and think about it ;)
where can I buy the black trikot of Ma Long or generally chinese tablle tennis t-shirts? can someone help me ?
@KripkeSaul :)
Ma Long deserved it but I'm glad that Wang Hao is finally back at the top!
@KripkeSaul Gratz huge achievement
@eps0n if you look closely, it wasn't completely 90 degrees, and the serve was probably dead or topspin
@jwzhu yes
Both players were under huge pressure. Both didn't play to their potential
@Coyannis Don't think that Xu Xin will make it much higher in the world rankings. He has no backhand and the top players know how to take advantage of that. He is just another version of Ryu Seung Min

LOL... pause at 7:14 and check the difference between ma long´s right arm and left arm. I know it´s normal for any athlete of these kind of sports.
uh huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuuhuhhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh... long wang uh huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh
@jwzhu I think Kishikawa is in the middle (assuming I can spell his name right!)
@eps0n its easier to flip with backhand
2nd? Wang Hao is coming back!!!
@DiaboloJuggler That's a bit of a stretch... I mean at least wait until he gets a world or Olympics singles title... He hasn't even won the world cup yet.

BTW did anyone see Mizutani-WH sf? according to the ITTF site it was quite a wipe-out...
Sorry, Noob question here. I don't really watch table tennis that much, but I was wondering is Wang Hao like one of the best players?
Anyone know the name of the guy who is sitting directly to Zhang Jike's left at 1:21?
@KripkeSaul Yes, do you want a cookie?
@simpanz well I actually used to play penhold, and my RPB is actually pretty decent.... better than anyone's i have every played against in the US... which isn't saying much.... haha, its really good for short game when you switch from back spin to top spin play, you can get a lot more spin in that shot that most people are used to.

@DaKrazedKyubizt That's cause he isnt injured now.
look the last point , that exactly how ma long lost the game in 2009 asian games...
4:35 who are these guys? the Japanese team?
mmm in 0:07 ma long recieve the wang hao´s serve using his blade in 90 degrees ... how could he do that ( its really hard):( ... sorry x my bad english :D

@DiaboloJuggler lies Jan-Ove Waldner will forever be the greatest
1 time World champion, 3 time World Cup champion, 3 time Olympic silver medalist, was ranked number 1 for 27 consecutive months... What do you think??
but he doesn't stand a chance against the new generation of Chinese tt players like Ma Long and Zhang Jike as he's getting old and will retire soon....
@this1is2me7 he flips out the shirt from the shorts
At 2:52 Ma Long learned from Joo Se Hyuk ^^
@Coyannis Xu Xin better version of Ma Long?... well, they sure play totally different styles, as you say, Xu Xin has a great winning ratio againts Ma Long, but it ends up there, he totally can not beat constantly other Chinese players Just as Wang Hao, Zhang Jike, and his nightmare Chen Qi, things that Ma Long easily achieve... @jayjaymatt chinese players probably see each other too often for such a greeting to have much meaning. Don't bash table tennis.
Tenergy 05 is really expensive!
I know right
@BollForte94
He didn't really have to show his belly though.
Even though wang hao can beat ma long he looses many critical points and ends up to loose the whole game. Maybe he isnt that focused cause he knows that he propably plays with a better opponent. 6:50 lol why did Ma long flip up his shirt like Ma lin did in 2008 olymics?
Is that how every player feels like when they win a big title? XD
5:11 screw ali? X)
0:10 lol wang hits the ball but than stops it
@scylla24 don't worry, wang has already achieved one great title, ma long hasn't :b
my nose is fast

astaghfirullahalazim...hahaha...dammit, i had hoped that wang hao had won the match...but close enough though...

5:15 doesnt even say sorry.
Lol kinda gave away a bit of the result at the beginning...
the commentator is very noisy
I can beat both
lol speaker says wank at 0:30
wang hao lost the last point exactly like ma long lost the last point in the national games in 2009 ...
0:13 : epic fail^^.
lol :D
6:02 Noch Verarschen für den Armen !!!
First?
what's wrong with you Wahg Hao???? You are getting worse?
there was no destruction there. wang hao was very close the last set and he won 2 sets as well.
