David and Carole Mumford continue their travels through the former Nara Dreamland park with a ride on what is similar to Peter Pan's Flight at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as walking through the Nara Dreamland Castle (modeled off of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland) and more. David Mumford was in Japan to work on Tokyo DisneySea as an Imagineer. Nara Dreamland was a knockoff of the Disneyland park in Anaheim.

I think Nara was supposed to be a Japanese Disney but licensing fell through. I seem to recall hearing that on another channel anyway.

you are 100% correct but the owner and walt disney couldnt agree on terms so disney opted out of the project but a few years later another japanese businessman gave disney lots of money to come back to japan and ended up with the tokyo disney resort we know today

It was supposed to be modeled after Disneyland and even has a lot of the same themed areas of that time. But then a REAL Disneyland was built there and the rest is history.
