  • Roughly half a million Sudanese, predominantly from Darfur, have fled Sudan's war, now past 14 months in duration, and crossed the border into Chad.
Out of this number, roughly 150,000 have come to Adré Refugee Camp, just a stone's throw from the border of West Darfur State. The camp has grown far larger than originally planned, encroaching on local Chadians' farmland. Now Chadian authorities are demanding the refugees relocate to another camp, 170 km away with reportedly few services available to support them.
