why would fopen return null considering that the mode used is "w" which means if you try to open a file that did not exist in the first place, the program will create that file for you? I have learned that if the mode is "r" and file is not there, then it will return null

Mam I think we should assign NULL to pointer fp after fclose function because fp will be dangling Pointer after that.
