You said it right. When it feels like a passion has turned into work it is time to revaluate what you are doing. Keep chasing your passions and let the work exist from Monday to Friday. In that case, less is more.
I just love what you're doing... if its 10 minutes or 2 hours... just seeing the scenery, you working the dogs... seeing a piece of home... that's why I watch... and I love the passion you have for all of this! I'm also loving the small camper build! I think adding some of your building is a great add to the channel!

I have been living in Germany for the past 3 years. I am retiring back to NL on 02 May, been off the island for 35 years. Your videos have allowed me to enjoy NL while not being able to be there. For me I envy you guys for doing what you do because I enjoy fishing a lot but never get the time to go do it something worng here ! lol . I watch a lot of great you tubers in my spare time to get my fix lol . Keep being you buddy if you feel you don’t want to go in the wild or do a video don’t because take it from me when you burn yourself out you won’t want to do it anymore.Speaking from experience it’s hard to get it back after you lose the interest. I can honestly say I really enjoy your content and just out for a hike would work just as well in my mind. You are out enjoying your day and that’s all that matters. Started watching hunting, camping, fishing videos with MEATEATER. Some of my fave episodes were when he didn’t get anything. Love following ur adventures knowing that in a few short years I’ll be living in a cottage and doing everything u do! I look forward to ur updates every week. Ur doing great and I realize u have a life. I appreciate you and don’t give up. Truly love ur videos!! (I’m half Newf - mom is from Trinity Bay area). I’m actually scared to visit because I know I won’t leave. Keep up the good work and give the doggos a scratch from Ontario.
Don't let it become a job, go to the woods when you can and video what you want, don't feel pressured, Your videos are good and I, like many others enjoy the content. I had 27 years as a soldier and my solitude is in the cabin surrounded by nature, but for the days when I can't get there I find solitude in watching the hunting/fishing/camping videos about Newfoundland. Please keep the content coming I sure do enjoy watching them. All the best, and remember don't let it become a task, just get out there and enjoy yourself.

Just do your thing , content is content … you do what you do , & just bring the camera along , that’s how I look at it , it’s not work , you’re building a little piece of art when you think about it. The video is a project aside from the adventure you film , if that makes sense !
There’s tens of things in the woods or waters of NL that can make a quick video that can still do very well.
Sometimes the “ Banger videos “ are the short 7-12 minute impulse trips , not the dragged out 3 days of effort !
Your doin great & NL’s support eachother no matter what , that’s evident !

No needs to pressure yourself man if your objective is only to share your activities . Most of us dont have time to go out for 2 days at a time each week , same as you , for different reasons . Its not that I would not like to do that but life being what it is ... the day hikes are probably what most of us have time for . Your fishing season is very different from ours around Montreal. It starts late april until mid september. I am actually going to try my luck the 26 , fishing brooks , and maybe some lakes if the ice has cleared. Thanks for the video , and take it smooth , no rush , where all going fishing 😅

Your recent vids of building a small camper are also very interesting. As a suggestion, maybe to lessen the pressure you could just have some shorter videos on various offshoot topics.

Agree 100%, everything needs to be taken in moderation, outdoors life is beautiful but can also be a lot of work and discomfort. Sometimes it’s just nice to take it easy and relax

Awesome video my buddy. You made an awesome point , I'm not to the stage where I make anything yet but if it no longer becomes enjoyable then I'm done with it. You have a top notch channel and it's one that my wife and I always watch from start to finish, you're a true outdoorsman. Do what you enjoy when you can don't let UA-cam ruin that for you it's not worth it.

I had to take a break from making videos because it was using way too much of my time. I've made much more real progress in my life and fitness goals, leveled up and learned new skills, and just grown more as a real human since I took a break from making videos.
Had a pretty good opener in NS bunch of small guys and 2 bigger than a pan size … 12” pan lol

Yes don't feel you have to deliver to hold an audience or when the channel grows to 1 million subscribers the pressure will have you off grid in Alaska ....lol. Just do you and your viewers will not be disappointed.

So I obviously can only speak for myself, but there are some bigger channels that I look forward to every week, and there’s some smaller ones that aren’t so regular. For sure I’m more likely to watch the regular ones every time, and the other more randomly. So I guess it helps. But what I think helps way more, is the person doing it. If you look like it’s work for you, I don’t think people will respond. Just do what you like, and film it if you can. It’ll come though in the video that you’re more relaxed, more legit.
I mean those big videos are great, and if your channel grows so you can work less and spend more time outdoors, then great, but I’m one of those people who used to spend a ton of time in the woods, fished like crazy etc…but now I can only go rarely, so for me it’s more about just trying to spend time with you in the woods when I can’t actually go myself.
It’s your channel to do what you wish with, but I just wanted to say to do what you feel, and I can’t see why it wouldn’t grow…..though there’s a ton of Canadian bushcraft channels out there, so it may take some time.

Oh I recognized that road you are walking on………………we actually were in the area around the same few days. One suggestion on making things easier as a UA-camr is to shorten your vids…….and on a long trip in the woods you can make two vids with one lot of content. This is a great time of the year to be in the woods because you don’t have to deal with the flies. Do what you love doing and don’t worry about trying to please and good things with happen without trying………your channel is awesome.
Buddy, first off, great video! And second, you hit the nail on the head. It's a slow fade that grips you. My last video did (in my opinion) terrible. 10th place out of my last 10 videos in views. And most of this week, it's got me feeling down. Not because I actually care if it does good or not its just because I feel like I invest a bunch of time and energy just for a video to flop. But nonetheless, onward and upward. Keep doing what makes you feel good, screw the algorithm, lol. From one NL creator to another, keep doing what you're doing.

I normally watch youtube on the living room tv and cannot make any comments. I would like to say, that me as a subscriber like watching any content you upload. it doesn't have to be for a specific reason or purpose. I don't mind taging along if you are raking the back yard, or changing the hot water tank in your house. I think people like getting to know and learn who you are and what you do. I am a contractor myself on the east coast and wouldn't mind seeing a video from work. Just sayin.
Just watched your video, good video, I know where your coming from in your UA-cam speech, been there. If you want to get together some time to make a video let me know, good to have someone around for a day to bounce ideas off. Keep it up.
