To be honest, it's very sad to see Maddie beating her chest. She started doing it the very first of the inforces, and she does it with a smile. Maddie believes that Caitlyn and Ambessa will do everything right and there will be peace for everyone. It's just that she's never seen a real war.
Hands down my favorite Caitlyn scene in the whole show so far and one of the best scenes of this act. The music, the flashback reveal of Ambessa setting up the false flag attack, the chest thumping. Absolute chills.
Then when Cait walks up and Ambessa drapes her in her new cape, they cut the thumping until she turns around and she and we notice they’re still chest thumping. And in one final pound, Caitlyn accepts the title.

1:19-1:23 This is the best part of the scene to me. The swift change from the Caitlyn to Ambessa. Two woman driven and motivated by revenge for their lost family members. The pause before she says “ Come child. “ is superb. You can visualize them locking eyes in this moment. Caitlyn knowing what she wants to do both for herself and the city. Ambessa knowing what NEEDS to do to move her own plans forward. Then with just two words she brings her right along the path of revenge with her. Not in a demanding or harsh tone but a softer one. I wanted to see Zaunite resistance members defiantly trying to fight back, using their knowledge of the streets they grew up in to their advantage only to still lose due to the sheer might of the enforcers and noxians. Ambessa, with her hair constructed in the shape of a halo, looks almost like a holy figure as she places the cloak over Caitlyn. It's a very powerful visualization of the fact that Caitlyn is being brought under Ambessa's wing and she is extremely powerful---there is a danger to being under Ambessa's wing. The way the cloak is giant, almost swallowing Caitlyn's silhouette, while the cloudless sky, blank and vast and an uninviting shade of muted greyish blue, also encompasses her. Caitlyn has ascended and grasped power but at what cost? She has power but she is now controlled by forces much greater than herself. I think the visualization of all of this is brilliant. This is her "I am Paul Muad'dib Atreides" moment: You can't help but feel a perverse pride for her as the chant is so overpowering and seeing her ascend is powerful, yet you know, this is the beginning of a possible downfall.

She was a spy hired to exploit Caitlyn’s rage and heartbreak by insinuating herself as a comforting lover. In truth, she was manipulating Caitlyn and whispering poison in her ears on Ambessa’s behalf.
I think people are overlooking the significance of the enforcers in this scene. In the past, as military dictatorships grew, the roles of the military and the police became desegregated, essentially becoming one and the same. I definitely see the enforcers banging their chests in imitation of Ambessa’s army as an nod to this.
im really surprised by people’s reception of maddie, everyone seems to think she’s this innocent cutie patootie but imo this scene shows what her character really is: a criticism of the idea of a “good cop”, someone who genuinely believes that the system is right and correct and the only flaws are due to individual bad eggs like marcus. it’s not that she’s oblivious to the fact that the enforcers hurt people in zaun, i mean she literally participated in cait’s operation unleashing the grey, it’s that maddie is 100% convinced hurting Bad People is Good, Actually, and of course all those radicals in zaun are Bad People. of course she’ll be the most trigger happy and ready to go full fash
@basedandchristpilled Uh, since society agreed undesirables shouldn't be allowed to exist XD what kind of question is this? Execution exists for a reason
God, the tension in this scene gave me chills. That Noxian witch is playing the Sith Lord here. Whispering into Caitlyn’s ear like that, convincing everyone this is the right thing to do. Man, I am looking forward to seeing her choke on her own iron fist
Ambessa has been in the game for a while, (not in-game) but like war and stuff, she’s a tactician and I’m certain she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon
@@admiralpepper6933 Lmao I just see people on twitter acting like she's gonna murder half of zaun, when in reality she's probably gonna seal it and keep searching for jinx with the gas as she's been doing.
Silco to Jinx at the end of Season 1 Act 1: We will show them. We will show them all. Ambessa to Cait at the end of Season 2 Act 1: Your mother will have justice. I swear it. Interesting how both Acts end with a girl falling pray to a powerful and dangerous figures manipulations. Caitlyn's journey into the darkness promises to be one of the best arcs this season.
Act 2 just came out, interested what your thoughts on Caitlyn are now? The show kind of just montaged the whole Piltover invasion thing which honestly I'm not a big fan of. This scene was kind of hyping up a big, brutal invasion of the Undercity but all we really see are a few flashes of people getting arrested and a checkpoint. It didn't really feel like Topside launched a full-scale invasion...just increased the number of patrols there. I was expecting something more like the intro scene to S1 Act 1 with the enforcers and noxians vs some resistance members killing each other with civilians caught in the cross-fire. I felt like the writers got cold-feet with the direction Caitlyn's character was going and tried to pump the brakes on her being a ruthless dictator out for revenge. Hell (spoilers for Ep6) the moment she meets Vi again they immediately make amends and team up. Caitlyn even willingly works alongside Jinx.
This season was a total masterpiece, the enviroment of every situation, the way the color palettes were managed along the music were perfection combined
What really is amazing is the fact that she has now become (at least in her newfound role) the same one of those who killed Vi's parents...she'll snap out of it, but it won't be easy
all it took was one "cupcake" from vi and she folded 😂 i know there was more to it and that cait didnt seem to want this position at all. Look at her face when ambessa tells her that her mom will get justice. There is reluctance all over her face but the situation is quite inescapable because she had no choice.
@@inversional_loop Well, Ambessa controlled her, but she remains a good person at heart, even if the grief distorted her decisions and priorities. Seeing Vi + the doubts she already had was enough to break her from the chains of her own bitterness
So. Noxus may be rolling up on their doorstep by the end of the season. Apparently Ambessa is doing all this independently of Noxus. And going by the amount of black birds id say Swain has been keeping an eye on her. The one who kidnapped Mel is a Noxus associated Champ named Le Blanc. Swain or as he was once known as the Crow Man by the old player base before his overhaul. Is the emperor of Noxus with untold and unmatched power. These are the two people you really dont wanna piss off. Its actually theorized that Medardas son crossed Swain or the other champs in Noxus and was forced to flee. Now Swain wouldnt bother going himself. Hed probably send either Sion, Draven or someone else that wouldnt hesitate to raise the entire nation or Piltover to the fucking ground. Its terrifying to think thats how everyone meets a Noxus Champion. Bc overall? Medarda is the most reasonable of them all.

So much of this situation feels like a double edged sword. Caitlyn being elected as general should be a great honor, but everyone looks at her with the same shock as if she were accused of a crime. Hell, that's how Caitlyn herself reacts. Ambessa's stance at 0:27 is captivating. She is drumming out of respect. But with the angle she is standing at, it looks like she's physically ushering Caitlyn by her side.
Or drumming to pressure her. I mean Cait hasn't done anything remarkable by Noxian standards. Caitlyn looks like she wasn't even sure until the rest of the Enforcers drummed with the Noxians. It's like suddenly getting nominated by a teacher as class president and everybody's on board with it and you can't do anything about it lol. I'm excited to see how Caitlyn responds under pressure.
@pvrc1030 That's what I think btw, what could she say? With everyone drumming on their chests and looking at her... she always lived with the expectations of doing what was "right" and then what could she do in this scene? Reject and become a betrayer of Piltover and ruin her family ? she knows the weight of rejecting and accepting and has no choice for either
Watching this again, it makes appear so much that Maddie really is a noxian agent from the start... or she is just a simp really that see any opportunity to climb higher and goes for it.
Maddie was perfect in this scene... and nah - she didnt deserved to die... she deserved to take the shot after Cait betrayed Ambesa, enforcers and cheated on Maddie the moment she saw VI
Honestly, i saw this one as like this is a start of the feud between Zaun and Piltover and will carry on in the game that's why they are fighting in there.

im really surprised by people’s reception of maddie, everyone seems to think she’s this innocent cutie patootie but imo this scene shows what her character really is: a criticism of the idea of a “good cop”, someone who genuinely believes that the system is right and correct and the only flaws are due to individual bad eggs like marcus. it’s not that she’s oblivious to the fact that the enforcers hurt people in zaun, i mean she literally participated in cait’s operation unleashing the grey, it’s that maddie is 100% convinced hurting Bad People is Good, Actually, and of course all those radicals in zaun are Bad People. of course she’ll be the most trigger happy and ready to go full fash
You'd be surprised. Maddie was pounding her chest because of Cait, not the Noxians or politics. She likes her that much, as you may see in act II
I mean it is good technically 🤷 that's why attacking the innocent is taboo and not the other way around.

boy I have news for you
THE OST REALLY SETS THE VIBE SO WELL I WAS IN SHOCK AS WELL I WATCHED THIS FROM THE FIRST TIME
Breakup was so bad that Vi become an Emo and Caith become a dictator
What a fucking scene. That close-up shot of Embessa pounding her chest is chilling. Seaver and Temple truly are brilliant composers.
This is literally giving me goosebumps
The music fits so well in this scene
Makes so much more sense why Maddie started doing the fist on chest banging first from all the piltover soldiers after watching episode 9
Ambessa is working this city over from both sides. Grinding them together for weapons development. Incredible.
She is warfare incarnate
@@Tbear995 I haven't seen the latest episode. Noxians are brutal and militant but also not dumb. They're devious.
God, the tension in this scene gave me chills. That Noxian witch is playing the Sith Lord here. Whispering into Caitlyn’s ear like that, convincing everyone this is the right thing to do. Man, I am looking forward to seeing her choke on her own iron fist
And she's right. it's just Caitlyn's situation that is fucked up
Ambessa has been in the game for a while, (not in-game) but like war and stuff, she’s a tactician and I’m certain she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon
@ there’s a downside to having that much experience: you start reaching too far

I do wonder how much of a good artist Cait was, objectively speaking
So that's why Maddie was the first to support Marshall law
Wait, from Tekken?

This scene goes so hard and is one of the best parts of season two in my opinion. I audibly went “OH SHIT” outloud
You can see how Cait didn't want to do it, but then Darth Maddie gave the signal to take the deal, and it was decided
Darth Maddie😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can't wait for caits "dictator arc" to be much more tame than people think, then are left wondering why they were even scared in the first place lmao.

Scene somehow reminded me of Maximus' final scene in Fallout season 1. Reluctant yet willing and fully aware of the horrors to come
Silco to Jinx at the end of Season 1 Act 1: We will show them.
Music, cinematography, visual art, expressions, masterpiece.
One of the best scenes in season 2 imo
I must say Ambessa looks stunning in this scene
Early game Caitlyn be like
Hahahaha
So they were hinting us right from ep 3 that Maddie was a traitor.

Would've been awkward for Ambessa if Caitlyn was like "Nah, Let's pick more suitable candidate"
She knew she wont. Now Cait is easy to manage, because of her rage
That’s why she started thumping her chest, this isn’t a nomination of a position, Caitlyn has no choice.
@@mranima748 Exactly! good riddance, finally somebody who gets it.
People already mentioned how Loris leaves but I like how Steb was just standing there, watching cautiously.
The arming pounding sounds with the ost odd straight goosebumps. Caitlyn is about to become a menace
Don't know why, but I got 'All Hail Lelouch vi Britannia!' vibes the first time I watched this scene
I get why. This... this was power
Bc overall? Medarda is the most reasonable of them all.
actually swain is not in power at the time of the show nor does he control the black rose at the moment it should be Boram Darkwill who is the black roses puppet and the guy that leads the ionian invasion.
Excited to see Darius and Draven
Darius should be the one to end it
@@darius8214bruv we have darius in arcane it's gonna take the whole arcane cast to fight the fucker and hell probably still be standing coz he's been fed by the top laner 🤣
Which black birds? If you're talking about the ones in the first season, those were crows, not ravens (which are associated with Swain).
I wish they had expanded on this. If only we had an episode that showed Caitlin actually making decisions that stepped over the line of morality.
1:11 Looking back, it makes sense why she was the first enforcer to do the gesture.
Yes, she was perfect... sad that she died...
0:11
But I dont get why she panicked here
“I will give you the world, child, if you prove you can take it”.
Watching this again, it makes appear so much that Maddie really is a noxian agent from the start...
or she is just a simp really that see any opportunity to climb higher and goes for it.
1:13 just noticed that's the enforcer that hits on Jinx when shes disguised on act 2
Now we know why Maddie was so convinced with Ambessa's decision
Maddie was perfect in this scene... and nah - she didnt deserved to die... she deserved to take the shot after Cait betrayed Ambesa, enforcers and cheated on Maddie the moment she saw VI
Maddie the goat
Honestly, i saw this one as like this is a start of the feud between Zaun and Piltover and will carry on in the game that's why they are fighting in there.
When you lose the girl so hard you start the military dictatorship part without depression
This is my fav scene in all Act 1.
The OST for this scene is a banger.
