Well i was just about to comment this, just had to see if someone else had done so first. You don't even need to have played Left Behind to make that argument. There are even missions with Ellie on her own where you kill like 50 people minimum in the base game before this happens xD
I'd say it's more of a "Kill to kill the person you despise" Rather than "They shot first, they are a threat, they need to die". It's the first time where she killed the person she didn't necessarily have to kill, but some of her choices affected his behaviour, making him a bigger danger, thus leading to his death.
You Forgot A Few Things: 1.) There was originally a dog that Ellie found in the game, which Neil really wanted to keep in, but learned that it would deter from the focus point of the story. No idea if they just put "Buckley in for fun.. 2. The famous band poster "Halican Drops" you see throughout the game were based off of actual words spoken by Neil's Daughter. 3. The consistency of the giraffe also came from the love for the animal by his daughter. 4. Ashley actually almost got into some legit physical fights with actors trying to play Bill, once being pushed too hard during a scene and had to separated before fists were thrown, which was good for her natural ability to play a strong Ellie 5. Tess, in the other story, was hunting down Joel because he accidentally killed her husband. One of the final scenes was her pointing a gun to Joel's head, the screen going black after a gunshot, and then revealing that it was Ellie that shot Tess. 6. Ellie's mom, Anna, and Marlene were good friends, who argued alot much like Riley and Ellie. EDIT: Ellie's father's name was supposedly "Connor" and never even saw Ellie when he left Anna not knowing she was pregnant. I hope you're all excited for part II as much as I am
Actually I think Joel's last name is pretty canon because in Sarah's room at the beginning of the game there's an award certificate on the wall that says "Sarah Miller".
Apparently that is only in the Remastered version. However, surely the fact it is in printed game manuals is evidence enough? How can someone argue against that?
Waqib Hussain knives can be used as a weapon self defense or nefarious purposes or it can be used as a tool like if you found a duck with string around it's feet essentially immobilizing it they can use a knife to cut it, it can also open cans in place of a can opener, etc. it's a tool
I don't think I'd want to see Cordyceps infected animals in the game. While I love the concept artwork and think the animals look great, one of the rays of hope in a very bleak game was that while mankind may be mostly wiped out, but life goes on. Others species of animals still flourish, it's not all bad. If everything on earth is essentially open to infection, then life doesn't really go on. It's all just Cordyceps. Also, I'd point out that the fact that you see plenty of normal animals thriving in the game, yet you see no diseased animals. That kind of leads to the conclusion that it uses only human hosts.
Yeah, the disease can't grow on all these different hosts at the same time. The anatomy of animals are so different from that of humans. Jellyfish don't even have brains. What about fish and insects? Would it be a land-mammals-only rule since they are closer to humans? You'd need more boundaries in terms of what allows one to contract and spread the disease. Obvi the game doesn't need scientific reasoning, but you can't just throw in a couple infected giraffes without the concept of infection becoming cloudy. I also agree that life should go on, and thematically the apocalypse should be like TWD where the virus is bestowed upon the human race and society, a test of morals and a threat of a possible distinction of our species. Not complete utter chaos of all living things. Like Slime said, that just be... cluttered. Unnecessary and confusing. Also I REALLY don't want to see a dog or puppy or something covered in cordyceps :')
How does making animals Infected make it the game cluttered Do you not realize that The developers can just add places in the game to where You occasionally see infected animals I don't get how its a bad Idea when in the game you're already looking over your shoulder to protect yourself from infected and from Humans itself and besides if there so happens to be roach anywhere I'll be keeping away from it.It'd be great to get theses off and see them. It would make the game so much more tense.
Hey Kelly uh Cordyceps in real life infects insects. The fungus in the game is cordyceps. Fish? Eh I mean I don't think they'd be infected like ever, but insects I mean they're already being infected.
There is also an Easter egg in uncharted 3 that hinted the last of us. In the bar in London there is newspaper somewhere that says "scientists struggle to understand a deadly fungus"
There is also an Easter egg in TLOU which is a destroyed Irish pub called “Sullivan’s Irish Pub” referring to a side character Sullivan in Uncharted series.
But Edupes oh, I thought you were bashing the game. I am an Xbox fan, the game looks good. But not convincing enough to buy a 300 dollar console for one game
The Last of Us is probably the most perfect game I've ever played. I just wish the adventure was a bit longer. Not by too much. Just a little. Maybe it's just a game hangover.
Omg I can’t express how much I loved this game!! The story is heartwarming. Joel and Ellie is the reason behind me loving this game, the character development is amazing, Ellie came to fill that hole in Joel’s heart after loosing his daughter. It took time for them to be close and that made it much more realistic. Seeing Joel fighting that feeling in the beginning but then ending up treating her like his daughter❤️ he broke my heart, they needed each other.
I haven't purchased the last of us 2 yet, even though I want to, I didn't like Joel dying or the way he died, I was brutal, and unnecessary for Joel, a beloved character to die that way.
Amir Paydar, She must've been so mad like 'I put so much work into the game and all it got was average scores meanwhile my lookalike sold me out? This rots'
I mean I kind of get it, but also if she played the game and listened to the fans, she might change her mind. Personally I love that Ellie was like Ellen except for her opinion about this particular issue.
Niche Carved that's what bothers me. I love Ellen Paige as an actor so it shocked me to hear that she didn't appreciate it, regardless of whether it was true or not.
Pretty sure the test monkeys in the lab where infected. If you listen to the tapes the man recording the audio is bitten and I belive he committed suicide before he turns.
Francesco Favro Well I agree that it’s good they didn’t make infected animals. But I gotta disagree with you when you say that the same virus infect multiple species, because, cordyceps already has, in the real world. No reason it can’t infect more.
I love how instead of having a million characters that we barely learn anything about and die, we only get 2 characters for a majority of the game. Smaller is better
Does the knife thing confirm that the window in the last of us home screen is the window of the room ellie is playing guitar in in part 2? I think it might
Aidan D. I don't think so 😅 - there is no room. Watch the video "Off Camera Secrets..The Last of Us". You can see that there is just a wall with a window. And I don't think they planed a part 2.
What I like about The Last Of Us? Actually everything, one of my favorite games. Not even because of the graphics or level design, but because of the story.
there is one way to verify ellie’s last name, when you are playing left behind you take pictures in the photo booth and it asks if you would like to share on facebook. Ellie not knowing what facebook is clicks yes and it says type in username is password, she asks what she should put in and her friend says “ just put in your last name “ but it is censored, but if williams is 8 letters and the username and password was 8, it might be able to help us figure out her name
I hope they don't go with infected animals, there is something so successful about the contrast between the serenity of nature in the games, the plants and animals largely unaffected and thriving in the abandoned cities and towns. Its fun to think of it as the planet giving the final fuck you to humanity, as all other forms of natural life are consistently threatened and strained and abused by humans, the thought of something evolving finally to the point were it targets us specifically in order to restore the balance in the natural order of things is more interesting than a fungus just running rampant and killing off everything.
I get that, and I agree the giraffe scene was really something, but I think it would also be a good twist to the squeal because there has to be some new stuff in it? at least imo
I don't think they will go with infected animals or they cant to be correct in my opinion because the monkeys in the university were also infected they even bit the scientists based on the audio in the game but the monkeys which ran around on the campus weren't that agressiv or visually infected
When I played the last of us and was about to play as Ellie, i was like, "maaaaaan, I don't wanna, it's not Joel!" but now if The Last Of Us 2 is all Ellie, hell yeah.
How about the fact that TLoU originally wasn't even going to have zombies in it? I think I heard it in the documentary, but it was just going to be an infection that got people sick and killed them instead of the cordyceps. Would have been interesting to see a world like that but I think they made the right choice, their version of zombies was awesome.
rob29 they realised that removing the infected actually cut their action adventure aspect of the game in half. So decided they needed to be able to tell story through combat
i played the last of us for the forst time last month. before the leaks. thank god i resd the leaks. sixty bucks saved. no spoilers: neil druckmann is close with anita sarkeesian. second game has too much unwanted politics
I really enjoy all the talk about this game. It was really a landmark on so many levels and even those that don't enjoy video games should watch someone play through it.
Ellen Page had the chance to play Ellie but she chose Beyond 2 Souls. And that is why she bitched. Because she knows she made a mistake. But Ashley Johnson is *way* better anyway. :D
I thought you guys would have touched on the back story of "Ish" that you gather from all the notes through out the game to his disappearance after the sewers. I LOVE this game but I really fucking want to know what happened to ISH. Some theories say he is alive and living on Tommy's plantation. If he were to make an appearance or a subtle mention in the 2nd game that would be so sick.
Laura-Ann Bence I personally wouldn’t consider it a bloater as bloaters have mainly been found in cramped, damp and dark places which are mostly coated in spores.
Im doing something right now that is going to makes all you guys really envious. Im currently playing this game for the first ever time on PS4 (the remaster) at 60FPS. I had not been spoiled by anything or ever watched a trailer before playing. Ive been playing for like 8 hours straight or something like that. Been taking it really slow and just soaking everything in. Current at the Fall part where you meet Tommy again. All i can say is, holy shit this game is fucking incredible. P.S.. I will not be reading this thread incase anyone tries to spoil it for me. Ill be back when i finish this amazing game.
Shit, yeah i forgot about this post. I finished it the day after i wrote that (and the DLC) the game has become one of my favorite games of all time, cant remember the last time another game had an emotional impact on me like that. The world, the story, the characters, the atmosphere, all unbelievable. Cant tell you how pumped i am for part 2.
Haha I knew all this lol. BTW Joel's last name is confirmed in the game from Sarah's award hanging in her room at the beginning. Also, Ellie's last name is hinted at when she types her name in the photobooth in the 'Left Behind' DLC. It doesn't show her last name but it shows the same number of letters as Williams.
Ellen Paige should be flattered, not upset. Especially since, (I would bet) She's probably one of the most beloved characters in modern gaming. TLoU is still one of the best games to play even after all this time. So impactfull and to me is a tie with Uncharted 4. U4 had the best CGI scene I've ever seen in a VG. When Drake walks through the hotel door and finds Elena standing there. Best VG cutscene ever!
She was upset cuz Beyond two souls was about the same time at tlou, but only in one game she was paid a get credit for it,unfortunely for her tlou was a lot better game, and she felt rip off by the huge success of naughty dog taking his likeness without given her any credit.
SyTh Vibez Nope no Cgi cutscenes. They use real time cutscenes. That's why the cutscenes transition so smoothly into gameplay and why the clothes you wear in the extras are actually shown in the cutscenes. Naughty Dog are that good.
Hell yeah.. nobody talks about this scene, but it crushed my heart. Especially when you learn later that they could have been saved, if Ish came back for them
nooo waaay that scene is a moment of beauty in world of horror, it symbolises that there's hope left for them. I think scenes like that are really important to the game, the violence and horror are contrasted by the beautiful skies and sunsets shining through the cities, little bugs caught in a ray of light, trees and flowers, beautiful mountain scenery, THAT SCENE. If all someone can take away from TLOU is shooting clickers, they missed out on that game................... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nook I I know right? i don't know how anyone can be so blind as not to see that the scene was meant to show a moment of peace and hope, specially infront of a kid that grew up in such a chaotic world. It was a beautiful scene. I'm not against the idea of infected animals though, i had the same idea at some point and it would be pretty cool, if you thought a Bloater was bad....just wait lol, Days Gone is already going to do that, hope they do something good out of it.
Late to the party but I love that The Road was actually one of the inspirations for The Last of Us because, in my Fiction Writing class in university, we read The Road and discussed it and I actually commented to the class that it reminded me a LOT of TLOU so that's cool!!!
@@psychotropictraveler514 I actually was a lead sound designer on TLOU, so I know the story etc.. Still haven't played it as a player.. A friend of mine recently played it through for the second time so I thought it was about time I actually play it. Enough time has passed so im sure Ill find many pleasant surprises.
This game was so amazing! I played it in it's entirety in just 3 days and streamed ALL of it. I had so much fun! Now I am so ready to start playing part 2.
I don't know how huge the luck percentage of Naughty Dogs has but all of these decision made this game a masterpiece kudos to the team take your time for the last of us 2 we can wait. :))
me to the rescue they always make good games they made crash bandicoot(if I remember right) jack and daxter, and uncharted. so if that's all luck then they are extremely lucky.
Blake chandler i know and i love them all. played almost all their games. im saying this game could be their one of a not so much good game if they stick to their idea mentioned in this video in just glad they change based on what they think fits best on the story.
Bizz yup also that's a movie role that wouldn't require as much muscle and intense training as wolverine did. It'd be cool to see him play the old man type character again he could definitely pull it of maybe even make the first ever good video game movie.
Bizz yah but the potential is there they can do it but it has to be done delicately. I think if you took Hugh Jackmans Logan added a more sadder and less angry characteristic to it and have a good Ellie then focus on those two and their relationship a good movie could be made. They just need to take elements of Logan and build upon the structure and a really good last of us movie would be made.
neonoahgame fuck that, Logan didn't have character building before in the story at all. The part I thought was quite retarded was: SPOILER......... after Charles dies, logan gets pissed off... A LOT. That go on a fucking journey, and what seems like two days later Laura's already calling Logan daddy, while Logan was acting like a dick to X-23 the whole time.
Man this was a real insight. I would love to play the game. I hate just watching these instead of actually re living the game every day. Keep me posted as always you guys are awesome.
I'm actually pumped for the multiplayer as well, if it's anything like the first one. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it, and it was some of the tensest gameplay I've ever had in a MP mode.
Thing I love about the last of us is how Joel and ellie start building a relation ship along the way, unlike the walking deads "clementine will remember that" it just shows how its being built slowly but obviously
I did some research. Of those wondering what the infected in The Last of Us feel inside while ripping apart flesh, an insect (in real life) after being infected by the cordyceps, their muscles are being controlled by the roots of the fungus. The insect is still conscious, and their brains are (probably) not effected. According to National Geographic, the insect is being “forced” to clamp onto a tree in perfect condition. In this case, the host is being “forced” to tear apart human flesh and devour it. The people infected are most likely fully aware of what they are doing and have no idea what they are going to do next, considering the fact that they are taken over.
I don't think that's the case in Tlou. In the game you can find as a collectible an x-ray radio image of an infected head. The game purposely shows that the fungus has taken over most of the brain of the host. We can also see that most important parts, such as language and memory areas, are completely gone. Therefore, I think the game made it clear they weren't conscious anymore! But I still found the wonder really interesting, particularly when Sam knows he's gonna turn. It really adds to the game!
7:10 I expected to encounter infected monkeys as an enemy towards the end of the game when you listen to a tape recorder in a lab saying that they went ballistic
Roy Senpai's Fan Club ummm can you even read lol? he said that only game that comes close is TW3 which means the witcher 3 is the only game almost as good as the last of us
I don't really get the comparison of TLoU and Logan. Yeah, a bearded dude and a young teen are fighting for their lives and whatnot, but that's just it. Ellie was actually awesome. The annoying, shrieking little girl in Logan was not.
my theory is that Joel is not dead but he's been captured by the fireflies. now in part 2, ellie will have to save him just like the first one were Joel had to save Ellie. it's a little role reversal cause if you think Ellie is about 20 now or so, that would make Joel 50. dudes getting old but he's not dead. Ellie is gonna be sick to play with though. they should add a feature when you're playing with her that you can take 1 bite from a clicker without dying since she's immune.
gene oconnell The sequel is supposed to take place five years after the first (so 25 years after initial outbreak). Assuming Joel was around 18 when he had Sarah, he would be closer to 55.
nice theory. But there is lots of those. But they have stated and cannot remember where read it. But you play as Ellie in TLOU2 and also will not feature the Fireflies. which if follows as Joel actually killed most of them in the first one. Personally I think you will play as Ellie. In the previews of TLOU2 i think that woman you see is Anne her mother. I think when Ellie says will kill them all. I think she is referencing those who killed her mother. In TLOU2 I get the impression then that you play as Ellie (so Ellie and Joel basically reversed roles from first one) and you are trying to track down 1. What happened to her mother and 2. those responsible with flashbacks to the storyline before TLOU leading up to Ellie being Immune and how that happened, upto present times..... Would be a good story if is true but i guess have to wait and see.
Hector Rios grounded mode was actually awesome. could be frustrating but wasn't really as hard as people think when you get used to just hiding and choking most things. probably also helped that i had already played it multiple times because i would just think "right. i am using no bullets this entire chapter and only accepting 2 arrows breaking, because i know what the fuck I'm fighting next chapter"
Not long now, not long now (haven't been this excited about a game since Perfect Dark)I finished T.L.O.U. on Survivor mode last week, apart from less ammo/items/medkits the main difference was not having a listening mode, you soon get used to not having it but you have to move the camera around constantly, Ellie helps out with comments like"Joel behind you" or "to your right",lol I love this game
One thing I never liked about the game was the people who were constantly trying to kill you and Ellie. Of course I enjoy stealthy shootouts, however, what I didn't like was *_why_* the hell was everyone always trying to kill us? Yeah. I get the part about David and his goons. But what about in Colorado? Or Pittsburgh?
In Colorado I believe that the goons you encountered were actually some of David's people. That's why they hold a grudge against Ellie and Joel and then later track Ellie back to the garage where she and Joel are holed up. In Pittsburgh it was a separate gang that attacked them which I don't think had any affiliation w/ David's group. I agree that it is a little crazy how they're almost constantly getting attacked, but maybe in the sequel they'll find a way to balance the gameplay a little better and maybe have more quiet scenes where you have to figure out puzzles.
AlphaDeltaXray people or hunters are trying to kill you for resources. After the truck t-bone ambush shootout, Ellie and Joel find a garage where there is a human body, shoes and personal items are retrieved. The body is discarded. Joel and Ellie even see two hunters shoot down a couple in hopes to find food or anything else they can use. This ruthless scavenger mentality is what motivates hunters to kill down people. David group is an example of hunters which have resorted to cannibalism. Lastly, the other group encountered is the militia who do routine hunts for infected.
You guys should do a video about The Last of Us Factions. About 10 years on and still has a solid player base of die-hard fans and a few new players. I honestly think it's the best online shooter ever made and I still play it to this day.
Ellen Page just likes to whine. Could be wrong but pretty sure she kicked up a stink about some other company showing a character that looked like her in the shower or something? I dunno.
Call Me Witcher, when I played TLOU for the first time, I thought Ellen Page had lent her face for the game....as did most people. I think maybe you're just really bad at recognising faces.
Odd. TLoU began development in 2009, Hard Candy came out in 2005 and Juno in 2007. Also, some scenes from The Last of Us and Juno are almost exactly the same. Coincidence? I think not.
I love the scenery in the game. It looks grungy and urban and then when you go on through the game there’s nature and grass and it looks so good. Scenery and atmosphere is a big contributor to what gets me interested in a game and keeps me playing
I loved the left behind DLC, I was surprised that the community didn't freak out about the little bit of info we learned about Ellie. I don't have a problem with it, however the internet is known to bring things out of proportion.
Gaming Popular Oh, was everyone supposed to think she is gay? I don't think that's what they were going for. that was her best friend and she loved her. just because she kissed her doesn't make her gay. sometimes relationships are different than the social norms. it would even make more sense for Ellie because she grew up in a fucked world, really altering her perception of things without many guides. I don't think it's a gay thing they were trying to display. (I'm also assuming you were talking about Ellie kissing her friend info)
Yeah thats what I thought. I didn't think they were trying to define her sexuality at all. She had no idea of social norms. To her, she was just sharing a bit of intimacy in a way SHE thought was appropriate. During the main game, they also showed her flirting with that one guy, so who knows. I have no problem with it either way though.
Well I mean they're basically the same, with the cortycepts or however you spell it taking over the host's brain and keeping them in a semi-dead and aggressive state
Alejandro Aguila The host never actually dies (thus isn't undead as there's no reanimation) the fungus takes over higher brain functions. So they're not zombies as they're not undead. What to call them otherwise however is up for debate. "A host body dominated by a parasitic fungus" doesn't flow well.
This is hands down my favorite game of all time. I loved every moment of it. It is the only game ive ever replayed at least ten times. Can't wait for the sequel!
Don't mind us, eagerly anticipating Last of Us part 2.

Great vid!
David wasn't Ellie's first kill, it was the guy trying to drown Joel
True! Good catch, i totally missed it when he said it.
Her first human kill at least.
Alexander Simone no how about before the restaurant and after they kill the horse she kills those guys
MrStensnask She stabbed David's friend and killed him before escaping from David, she killed several guards while escorting a wounded Joel, and right after escaping and killing David's friend she killed at least 10 people before killing David
doesn't she kill someone in the dlc that shows how she got infected? it's been too long since i played it, i forget.
Oh, the music. Gustavo's music in this game is as important as the two main characters.
Scroer Uee you are so right
That soundtrack to this day is my favorite album
Couldn't agree with you more.
It's kinda sad you don't get to hear it much in the game. At least, either you're too busy to listen to it or you're scared shitless trying to figure out if it's music or your enemies creeping up on you. Goddamn those frogs that sound like clickers. I do not approve.

Joel's last name is canon, in Sarah's room in the beginning there is a certificate that says Sarah Miller.
Jacob Sanford that's in the remastered version in the original game a ribbon covers the last name
WTF_AM_I_DOING That's quite interesting. Know of where I could find images/videos online showing this off?
WTF_AM_I_DOING I played both versions and never noticed!
WTF_AM_I_DOING That’s called retconning. Retconning can be considered canon - they wouldn’t have retconned it if it wasn’t important!
Jacob Sanford Yeah... Ok...
that "un-included" scene is where Joel plays guitar to Ellie in the first scene in the last of us 2
So the story of tlou2 was written way before?
@@KBZ3000bc maybe they started developing the story, obviously the scene could've changed from them till when the game came out
@@KBZ3000bc they started it way before, they didn't complete it, plus it was only that scene so who knows
My favourite part of the game was Gustavo's soundtrack. Simple, yet beautiful.

That music isn't just a fuckin' masterpiece; it's different from every other music I've heard.
I can't wait to play TLOU 2 seventeen times like the first game.
Captain Ireland4 only seventeens times?!??!?!?!
U mean watch it u cant play last of us
fireballs why?
I cant believe u r asking me this too long cutscenes too also the game depends on emotional scenes and u guys fall for it
i dont get how people can play games more than 2 times. dont you get bored of it?
You Forgot A Few Things:
1.) There was originally a dog that Ellie found in the game, which Neil really wanted to keep in, but learned that it would deter from the focus point of the story. No idea if they just put "Buckley in for fun..
2. The famous band poster "Halican Drops" you see throughout the game were based off of actual words spoken by Neil's Daughter.
3. The consistency of the giraffe also came from the love for the animal by his daughter.
4. Ashley actually almost got into some legit physical fights with actors trying to play Bill, once being pushed too hard during a scene and had to separated before fists were thrown, which was good for her natural ability to play a strong Ellie
Buckley (only the name) was actually a reference to Troy Baker's dog who passed away 3 years before TLOU was released):
Ok well now that just made that scene on the Dam way more depressing
At the start of the game Joel's daughter jokes about selling drugs.
20 years later after the prologue, Joel sells drugs and smuggled things with tess.
Niko the Gymnast - TLOU2 .
There are actually pictures of everything you just said on the purchased concept arts menu in Tlou
Actually I think Joel's last name is pretty canon because in Sarah's room at the beginning of the game there's an award certificate on the wall that says "Sarah Miller".
Hell naw
Apparently that is only in the Remastered version.
However, surely the fact it is in printed game manuals is evidence enough? How can someone argue against that?
It is miller
from where did you get the second name “canon”

Also it would be very hard to get food since they cant hunt.
Drama Lama yes definitely infected animals
The story is the best story of any game I've ever played

There is also an Easter egg in TLOU which is a destroyed Irish pub called “Sullivan’s Irish Pub” referring to a side character Sullivan in Uncharted series.
Tlou, what a fucking game.
But Edupes do you mean that in a bad way or a good way
Unknown Eggos good way of course.
But Edupes oh, I thought you were bashing the game. I am an Xbox fan, the game looks good. But not convincing enough to buy a 300 dollar console for one game
Unknown Eggos I'd rethink that. It's worth it
Unknown Eggos buy a PS3 and play it... there's been a bundle at my local Walmart for a slim and the game for 100 bucks for 2 years
The Last of Us is probably the most perfect game I've ever played. I just wish the adventure was a bit longer. Not by too much. Just a little.

@@tjallingvanassema836 why what’s wrong with it
I'm so glad that ashley johnson was ellie's voice actor
Truman Sharp YES verry
Omg I can’t express how much I loved this game!! The story is heartwarming. Joel and Ellie is the reason behind me loving this game, the character development is amazing, Ellie came to fill that hole in Joel’s heart after loosing his daughter. It took time for them to be close and that made it much more realistic. Seeing Joel fighting that feeling in the beginning but then ending up treating her like his daughter❤️ he broke my heart, they needed each other.
I agree, but I would rather not have seen him reject her at tommy's place. Just let him slowly like her more.
@Shoug Ala
wait till you see tlou2 you will wish you never bought this stupid excause of a sequel
@@anajamx I did and I absolutely hated the sequel... Lets just pretend part 2 didn’t happen
@@shougala3629 Yep. Part 2 never happened. It was just an expensive fan made game.
I haven't purchased the last of us 2 yet, even though I want to, I didn't like Joel dying or the way he died, I was brutal, and unnecessary for Joel, a beloved character to die that way.
It kind of sucks that Ellen Paige felt cheated. I would've been honored.
right?
She was probably just pissed that her game Beyond ended up being a flop compared to TLOU.
I love Ellen Paige as an actor so it shocked me to hear that she didn't appreciate it, regardless of whether it was true or not.
i'm glad they didn't do cordyceps animals, it would have only made stupid bosses things.
also, the same fungus can't infect so many different species.
It's a video game, they could make it so the fungus could infect various species if the developers want it that way.
The real fungus it's based on actually does infect lots of different species.
Different types of the fungus can effect different species however each fungus type is very specialized and can only attack a specific species.
You won’t like TLOU2, then :(
This did not age well 😂😂
You wont like the last of us 2 then all i can say is from 2 people will only be 1 but they will give you new person
This game is a masterpiece.

Cosmo Kramer yea dude, like all game. Pulling savage out of nowhere stabby stab stab moments to help out Joel
She killed more zombies than humans.
Not as gruesome as she killed David though😂
so glad they gave ellie her personality. she made the game. I immediately was like damn i hope this guy chills out on her. lol

I agree, for me the game was a 7.5/10 in terms of gameplay but the characters were 10/10 and the graphics and the story so that’s why it was so great.
there is one way to verify ellie’s last name, when you are playing left behind you take pictures in the photo booth and it asks if you would like to share on facebook.
Humans are animal tho
I don't think they will go with infected animals or they cant to be correct in my opinion because the monkeys in the university were also infected they even bit the scientists based on the audio in the game but the monkeys which ran around on the campus weren't that agressiv or visually infected

I want joel more but ellie is awesome to
There's bound to be a bit of Joel gameplay in Part 2, but the focus is Ellie.
Joel died on last of us part 2
How about the fact that TLoU originally wasn't even going to have zombies in it? I think I heard it in the documentary, but it was just going to be an infection that got people sick and killed them instead of the cordyceps. Would have been interesting to see a world like that but I think they made the right choice, their version of zombies was awesome.
rob29 they realised that removing the infected actually cut their action adventure aspect of the game in half. So decided they needed to be able to tell story through combat

She was good in the Beyond but yes, Ashley is much better Ellie.
I seen Ellen in Ellie. Mind you, their name is similar.
I think Page is just worse than Johnson, both voices are a bit weak. I prefer a stronger voice like Korra has for example.
Ellie first kill wasn't David it was the random guy in the hotel trying to kill Joel was the first
I thought you guys would have touched on the back story of "Ish" that you gather from all the notes through out the game to his disappearance after the sewers. I LOVE this game but I really fucking want to know what happened to ISH. Some theories say he is alive and living on Tommy's plantation. If he were to make an appearance or a subtle mention in the 2nd game that would be so sick.

Apparently the ribbon covers the last name on the PS3 release.
Viktoriya Serebryakov what about ps4?
alyssa ølinger Only the first release on ps3.
Cody Clark Except that Uncharted 4 does not include any CGI cutscenes.
Kratos4ever yeah it does
Cody Clark I understand why she would be upset. Usually you get asked and paid for your likeness
My favorite part from last of us is the emotional relationship among various characters.
I had no idea that the woman who voices Marlene also voiced Alyx from Half Life. Ain't life full of surprise.
Troy Baker, who voices Joel, also voices Pagan Min in Far Cry 4 and Helmeppo in One Piece. I felt so cheated.
0:00 Correction, The Last Of Us is HUGE.
"They didn't suffer"
Most vivid scene of any video game I've ever played
Hell yeah.. nobody talks about this scene, but it crushed my heart. Especially when you learn later that they could have been saved, if Ish came back for them
infected animals that would of made the giraffe scene more interesting.
lol I thought the same thing when they said that
Same here.
ninja of fire Yeah imagin if in infected lion attacked the giraffe
nooo waaay that scene is a moment of beauty in world of horror, it symbolises that there's hope left for them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nook I
I know right? i don't know how anyone can be so blind as not to see that the scene was meant to show a moment of peace and hope, specially infront of a kid that grew up in such a chaotic world. It was a beautiful scene.
I'm not against the idea of infected animals though, i had the same idea at some point and it would be pretty cool, if you thought a Bloater was bad....just wait lol, Days Gone is already going to do that, hope they do something good out of it.

Someone cast Hugh Jackman as Joel for the movie version you'll know why if you watched Logan.
neonoahgame I wasn't sure about him before, but Logan just showed me how perfect he was for the role. He was practically playing Joel
Bizz yup also that's a movie role that wouldn't require as much muscle and intense training as wolverine did. It'd be cool to see him play the old man type character again he could definitely pull it of maybe even make the first ever good video game movie.
neonoahgame That's the scary part, no matter how promising they look, or how filled with star power they are, it's still impossible to be confident

Thing I love about the last of us is how Joel and ellie start building a relation ship along the way, unlike the walking deads "clementine will remember that" it just shows how its being built slowly but obviously
The stroy line... lot of feelings and crying while playing it... a truly master piece
You guys did a really good job with this video. Keep up the good work, I subscribed.

Ironman374 The makers of LOGAN took inspiration from TLOU. They mentioned it after people noticed the similarities between stories.

Old Nathan drake with superpowers and Ellen Paige
my theory is that Joel is not dead but he's been captured by the fireflies. now in part 2, ellie will have to save him just like the first one were Joel had to save Ellie. it's a little role reversal cause if you think Ellie is about 20 now or so, that would make Joel 50. dudes getting old but he's not dead.
Pretty unlikely we're playing Ellie. She's already pissed about something (probably a plot point) in the trailer and Joel is there.
nice theory.

@@kamehameha7143 How tf didn't he know that is the real question?
I really wanna have that infected elephant chase sequence in the sequel.
Lol
You guys should do a video about The Last of Us Factions. About 10 years on and still has a solid player base of die-hard fans and a few new players. I honestly think it's the best online shooter ever made and I still play it to this day.
sigh Ellen page, really? generic white girl feels she's been copied?!
laughable.
Ellen Page just likes to whine. Could be wrong but pretty sure she kicked up a stink about some other company showing a character that looked like her in the shower or something? I dunno.
I thought it was specifically Ellen Page too. Not some generic white girl, just Ellen Page. Ya know, cuz it looked and sounded just like her.
That game was called Two Souls, and she starred in the game. She wasn't happy about the shower scene; she felt it was gratuitous and unnecessary.
Well now we know “Joel Miller” is canon
I love the scenery in the game. It looks grungy and urban and then when you go on through the game there’s nature and grass and it looks so good. Scenery and atmosphere is a big contributor to what gets me interested in a game and keeps me playing
I loved the left behind DLC, I was surprised that the community didn't freak out about the little bit of info we learned about Ellie. I don't have a problem with it, however the internet is known to bring things out of proportion.
Times have changed... thankfully. I'm glad Naughty Dog had the balls to do it.
Ya, it was a bold, but correct, action
I have no problem with it either way though.
christianled59 yea, you worded that a bit better than me. Thanks.
Fact #1: They're not zombies.
Well I mean they're basically the same, with the cortycepts or however you spell it taking over the host's brain and keeping them in a semi-dead and aggressive state
Max Weinhold but a misconception about them is that they r zombies
What are they then?
Alejandro Aguila The host never actually dies (thus isn't undead as there's no reanimation) the fungus takes over higher brain functions.
So they're not zombies as they're not undead. What to call them otherwise however is up for debate. "A host body dominated by a parasitic fungus" doesn't flow well.
Nazgoroth ahh I see
This is hands down my favorite game of all time. I loved every moment of it. It is the only game ive ever replayed at least ten times. Can't wait for the sequel!
