After 12 years of owning the game, I've finally achieved 100% completion, thanks to your speedrun strats. The only mission I've struggled with was the Chronosphere challenge because of the annoying RNG but besides that, the challenge mode was pretty easy.
The console version is brutal since the inputs are tough to get through with a ton of practice and mind you I did this a decade ago as a kid it was tough but a worth self achievement
To have the patience to do it all over again... wow Also your technique this time is more refined with using dojo engineer rush instead of the Soviet mcv
I just bought this game for pc. I played it first on Xbox and let me tell you. Going from a controller to my keyboard is life changing. By far the most underrated speed run and probably my favorite one too.
That brings back memories to first RTS I played: C&C on PS1 on controller of course. If I would have to play this game on controller I would probably be the worst player who ever played this game.
Are they the best faction? Yes, probably. But PvP is still generally equal. (Which was the intended balance even though it cant really be enjoyed online anymore) Dojo rush is a 1 shot tactic. If you can't pull it off, the other team will win. And you may be able to spread ore mines around but they will probably be undefended and a human would know this. Generally you won't use these same tactics if you were playing PvP.
Ayo, late to the party, didn't even know you had a faster run, massive props to both, seeing the refined skill in this later run is great to see was wondering if ya use a different account to reset the progress? or is there a way to reset challenge progress in game/files?

This deserves a second comment! I've been recreating these battles and i must say the tactics and skill involved is insane! Some of these must be done to this exact precision. If you place a dojo core in the wrong direction... it doesn't work. I'm not sure how long it took you to devise these strategies, but wow!
I absolutely love this run, but I'm confused by the reset at 23:00(ish) what woulda happened, had you stayed in? EDIT: Nvm I'm dumb. I found out, it wouldn't have hit the par time. Seriously great run though
Not sure it's any faster but the hammer tank has an Uprising exclusive bug where using the special ability at a certain rhythm cause it to proc leech beam damage and regen very fast. I'm also surprised the bear and spy challenges weren't dojo rush as well, though I guess consistency is better than a handful of seconds less.
Sometimes I wonder as to why we are yellow while doing the commander's challenge, why not white or cyan or something that'd suit a Futuretech commander in chief. Or why the very least of it, we can't change colour? P.S 2:02:10 You , good sir, are a true dare devil for selling the MCV in that fashion... a shame it went abysmal
Yeah, I agreed. White or Cyan would've made more sense since we're playing as Futuretech but I'm guessing they made Yellow as default because it was also the default color in Generals ZH challenge.. *shrugs*
Pro 1) Allies - good air strike , sabotage and best tactical special abilities . 2) Soviet - unit and construct hard to destroy and weapon damage range is most powerfull and deadly . 3) Imperial - faster for construct / train unit and wide unlimited area can construct . Con 1) Allies - weapon not to much powerfull . need strategy to use it and much costly use . 2) Soviet - very slow for construct / train unit and heavy movement . 3) Imperial - Easy to damage for unit and construct . #RedAlertLover
does the enemy send any pacifiers to bombard your base, the first pacifier that appears not included? I repeated that one a few times to get under par using VX and Tengus, because I attacked bases one by one, and the other managed to build apollos
In Decimator core challenge dojo core rush is possible by also making a burst drone, fly it near those Defender VX and they will switch to aerial defence, while you can just push your tank hunters in without taking damage 😃

I'm adding to thisncomment as I watch the whole video - Dojo hardcore!! - LOL @ bike mission, derpy engineers derping around taking shit lmao - Vindicator challenge - that was handled absolutely great! - Future Tank challenge - i'm surprised you didn't use the OP ability of future tanks, almost 1-hits an MCV and is great vs those towers. But wp regardless! - High water mark - that was some good micro, such a risky strategy in such a long speedrun, need balls for that!
Hey! Problem generally to get those op high tech units is that you need to invest lot's of time and resources to get them. So basicly that's a main reason why don't see these units in most of the maps.
How do you determine when to reset? The player returned to the main title screen a few times during the gameplay. What is the purpose of the "reset" if there is one?
I go back to the main menu because game tends to crash when playing longer session. Doing so prevents/reduces crashing in my experience. That's a only reason why I do that.
You should do a speed run of the challenge for each faction. Rising sun is OP for rushing the enemy tho. But haven't seen you play Allies on this run. Would love to watch next time your run for each of the faction and how long it would take you to finish the challenge. Anyways, props and good job to you!
Yes, Allied is for most part slowest faction to beat these missions. I was planning to do a challenge around a year ago to see if I could beat all missions without building any military units (only buildings allowed). Spoiler: I have beat all the missions that way. Some reason I didn't end up doing this challenge, I though people really aren't interested stuff like that.
So, basically you play Empire most of the time because it has the fastest expansion (specially dojo rushes) and you play Soviets some other times either because of Stingray rush, Twinblade rush, Hammer Tanks (strongest ground) or Bears (strongest anti inf).
Is there any reason you don't use the Riot Beams on the final mission? They can be use to quickly trivialize the Spectrum Towers and secure the MCV kill.
amazing speed run, you could definitely beat yourself by skipping alot of the loading of animations in the challenge menu and your indecisive actions on some stages to take.
Thanks for this. I simply would not know how to do these without some hints. These par times are ridiculous and ruin the intent of the game for average players. You are presented with these large elaborate maps that could have epic battles. But you are given foreknowledge that it is possible to complete in under 3 minutes. I would argue that if these were properly designed they should be impossible to beat that quickly. They would be more challenging and fun if the AI could prevent your dojo rushes.
I just played Ready to Roll out mission against commander Hill, boy this took me a lot of tries. What I noticed is, after x amount of retries Hill's top base would remain inactive (just command center and nothing else), he also would be much less aggressive with his bottom base, the 2 Pacifiers in the center would be gone as well. So yep, that was my winning try obviously. What's weird that I couldn't recreate it after I've beaten the mission. I suspect there may be a half-developed mechanism in game to make select few missions easier after a lot of retries but ONLY if the mission wasn't beaten yet. My question is, would it be useful in a speedrun to quickly retry lots of times to lobotomize the AI (if that happens to be true)? Do you happen to know which file stores the challenge progression, maybe I could toy around with it trying to return it to a previous state, cause I don't want to redo all the challenges just to test that again.

When i playing this mode and win in some game (no metter if it is under par time or not) sometimes it is counting like i was playing that game for 99:59 mins... Why?
i already complete 99% just 1 mission the mirage tank with mission they only give me 3 munite and its already stressed me out until i have to see yt and i find it now

I fucked up. I sold MCV and engineer made enemy MCV unpack and move into a water expo so I had no way killing it after.

I beat your time on Ready to Roll Out (the Pacifier level) with 5:15 which you did 7:05, by rushing VX and sending one at a time to each base.

Why did you quit to main menu after every couple of challenges?
That's just to prevent/reduce risk of the game crashing. Game did crash quite lot of times when I just kept playing missions long time.

Honestly I found a lot of the levels impossible to beat under par time without Dojo rush, like the mirage tank level.
i already complete 99% just 1 mission the mirage tank with mission they only give me 3 munite and its already stressed me out until i have to see yt and i find it now

Why so difficult in in "No Place To Hide"? Just Dojo rush and you will have about 2:40-2:45.
