I saw Uberzone at the Riverboat Hallelujah. :) Also saw Sasha and John Digweed there with a crowd of about 40 people. Was amazing! And jesus, all those Zoolu shows at State Palace! And who could forget the Psychedlic Pimp Daddy Land shows! 😊
This was playing in my SUV from Devil's Playground California in the sand dunes after a rave got shut down about midnight on the way to Phoenix AZ going through Palm Springs while the sun was rising and sobering up Bots built a memory that we will NEVER forget.
Uberzone tracks are classic and amazing. If you compare his style to other electronica during the time he was definitely putting a very unique distinct sound out there. Music always needs these types to progress.
Nowadays, this kind of music still have the power to drive back individual in an era, even if, as me, they were too young at this time. These breaks transmit me the feeling a generation of ravers could be into, how they faced something unheard before that makes them so enthusiastic and crazy ^^
Q was one of the baddest cats around, and would bring out his drum pad and bang shit out live like there was no tomorrow. Don't know what he's up to lately, but I saw him as recently as like 2007 or something at Revolution (the old Edge building). At the very end of the show he took off his headphones and handed them to the closest dude to him in the front of the crowd. I always was a huge fan but I became even more so that day. I wonder what he's up to these days.
Stop. Wait. Who, huh? What'd that robot say? Oh.. huh.. this a bit.. funky.. Oh yeah... Oh yeah.. (Y'all got that groove rigght?) 1:02 Introducing: melody. Groove era. 1:21 WAIT!!?? Breakdown.. smooth. Like Newports and candy with a bit of E... 1:37 Bring it back.. (Did Q really know what he was doing?) 2:07 Yes, yes he did. Are you groovin' now? Are You??? 2:36 Yes, yes you are. 2:46 Robots think what? WHAT? But you cant stop.. until.. 3:14. Send for Service? 747? You're now stuck.
ALL TIME FUCKING GREATEST RAVE TUNE... I can still remember the meth, tabs, acid and GHB now... AHHHH the good old days... DJs LISTIN AND LEARN, GOOD LUKE REPRODUCING SHIT THIS FLAWLESS.....
u just put it into words.... "nuskool"..... there is no creativity that can surpass the teacher of the what became from what was.... old skool.... If you had the blessing from God and Life to hear Uberzone Botz presented when it came out... vs what was available... you would bow down and laff at what is now.... simple as that
by the way.... NU school is Digital... Uberzone created and tweaked his own ANALOG synths to make his sounds... he didn't just go down to the local market and buy crap instruments. Maybe if you had $20,000 you could actually buy the required equiptment to reproduce this song. Just letting you know
I just did acid, thank God as most of my friends got stuck with massive depression issues from too much "E" = Boomers is the way to go, shrooms have never been bad for me at a rave.
Lets have it right, the best time for progressive electronica was the period 1996-2001.oaky,sasha,digweed,seaman,warren,etc were our beatles. what have kids got now.shite "r+b" and bianca gascoine, pixie geldoff, lauren pope and peter andre's brother' dj'ing dahn the "'suga hut mate" fuck that!.i'll remember 'whoop it up' down the velvet rooms ta very much. i probably sound like me grandad having a moan at me dad when he watched the stones on ready steady go.for those in the know. i salute you..
Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure - bad ass 2 CD set. Totally agree. Old Breakbeats, Electro, and House. Old "Far Too Loud" before he got into dubstep. The Rogue Element.
You would need to see them for yourself. There are tons of visualizations and tons of combinations and in my opinion they are way better than iTunes.. especially since there are so many of them.
@maxwellhowell Not true, the sounds mostly came from an 808 and a 303 with a loop thrown under it. If you saw him using a JP800, he was prob using it as a controller for a sampler.
I'm fairly sure Q was a Roland fan, and 303s just had that 'sound' at the time, i.e. there weren't many 'clones' to compete in '96. Sh101 can come close but the tweaking was easier with a 303. And they were still easy to come across at the time as well. But even the gear head Q was, I wouldn't think he'd have a Nord Lead and then buy a JP8000. Not mention Q, buy anything not Roland? Lol.
@@FABRIZZLE I don't think I'd attribute any if uberzones sound to dubstep. Dubstep arose from uk garage and two step, tho one could say the warping basses from nuskool breaks took part. Still uberzone was pretty much all funky breaks. Veryy little in that uberzone sound plays in dubstep.
@@wwlittlejOfficial Are ya telling me Botz wouldn’t fit right in for a dub set? Or “Brain” or any other track off of that release? Sure it would sound retro in comparison, but the overall sound is definitely there. Though, you can certainly argue that Freaks did have more of a breakbeat / electro sound.
@@FABRIZZLE Bro, no. What dubstep are u thinking of? This wouldn't fit with dungeon, brostep, riddim, chill step... lol, nothing of UZ electro-funky breaks fits. U sure u know the dubstep genre?
@dracul876 You right, my bad, was prolly thinking about "Synthetik". Nonetheless, Q was one of the baddest cats out there, at one time next to Tipper, IMO. What happened, Q?
Angus Blair so, check it: first, you hafta highlight the UA-cam link address ( ua-cam.com/video/HHAanTm8Ef8/v-deo.html is the address, so you can "cut/paste" this over), then when it's highlighted you can "cut" or simply "copy" the address. Then, go to the totally free and totally AWESOME website www.UA-camMP3.to Then, where you see the open address blank, you "paste" the link you copied (it's easier than trying to write it all down). Then, select or click on the red box under that says "Convert" and it will fetch, compile, and convert the UA-cam track, or WHOLE album. That process can take a minute or to. Warning: don't go off that page or lock your phone screen, or it will cut off the file right there and you won't get the whole thing. Then, once it's converted, you can download the audio file and PRESTO! yer good ta go. The website is totally free, and I have so many hard to find tracks and albums from UA-cam that you actually CAN'T but anywhere. But, it'll save to yer SD card, and you can transfer it out share it via Bluetooth with others... Bad ASS website. Once your done, I recommend downloading "DJ Santana Live@1509"... it is an amazing set!!! actually, I'll copy/paste the UA-cam link for ya, and you can check it out... good luck and Rave On, Dancin' the nite away...
~Q~ uses circuit bent gear dude... your 303 won't write this song... and the base in the middle of the song was not a 909... on top of the fact that he uses a 330 VP for his vocoding... check the local prices on Ebay just for that piece of gear alone. You can sequence that on your comp today... but then you needed racks... add it up...
At the 1996 Tiesto was copying his own video clips and editing into a great Shockwaves and Plasmapheresis beats and hits in the 2002-1999-2007-1991-1994 Listen to this masterpiece called "Tiesto Magnetic Sonics"
buy new records? I find that the old mixes are much more creative, it was back before the electronic genre was raped by artists like tiesto or made cliche like darude. (not to say there aren't any tracks by thore artists that I can't enjoy) But I definately prefer the old school techno and acid mixes to any of the new electro house or trance mixes.
Music back in the 90´s was like art..... Perfection, made by musical geniuses
Loved this tune over two decades!!!
It's a tuneroony
Indudablemente como la música de los 90 no volverá a haber. TREMENDO

1993 happy happy joy joy was the first rave i ever went to in hollywood and its grown from there.
This has been my go to peak tripping track for the last 22 "earth years."

About as close as most of us are going to get to outer space...

You would have to have something to compare it to. Now they have a ton of music to examine. But in 1990's this was a state of mind for us.
This album is super underated!!!
