    Put this in my Taylor 814ce to replace the horrible ES1 system. Works great and improves the amplified tone so much better. Playing through any acoustic amplifier is awesome. JJB is incredible.

    Thanks for the review. I'm also thinking about buying the model with the volume control for about $75 or so.

    What's the difference between a $0.25 piezo and a $50 piezo? I get that the hardware plays a part, but you could use the best brands, and it wouldn't cost anything close to $50. I'm genuinely curious why certain piezo pickups cost so much. From my understanding, a piezo is a piezo. They take specific components, which are very affordable. It almost seems like some companies are scamming their customers.

    Are these 20mm or 15mm? I heard 20mm can sound too boomy on full size dreadnoughts hence 15mm might be better suited.

      These are the 15mm. The general rule of thumb is use the 15mm on guitars with solid tops because they translate more efficiently. If you have a cheaper guitar with laminated top you can go with the 20mm.

    Hi is it me or I can listen a quacck sound in this jjb.. I have heard that in some k&k too... Maybe a bad installation?

    • @joeyyandell3219
      @joeyyandell3219  2 роки тому

      Yes as Elyon said, a quality preamp does help. This is recording direct from the guitar into my cheap audio interface. Also there still is some Quack sound, because it's still a transducer style pickup, but it's far less than a piezo under the saddle. Hope that helps!

    Is the end pin jack stereo like the k&k mini? I wanna play around with dual source without sinking a lot of money into it. I guess what I'm asking is can I get at the solder joints on the jack?

      You can message Jessie at JJB directly and he does some custom work on different end pin jacks!

      @@joeyyandell3219 I did and he is sending me what I need. I'm going to put a 1/8 plug on the sleeve so I can pair things with the Prestige. It will probably get weird. Nice to know that I'll have a solid default tone to work with. Thanks for posting this video. It convinced me to go for it.

    Do you know the system that comes with only 2 transducers (presige 220)? I was thinking of installing it on my 3/4 scale small guitar. How is it convenient to stick the transducers and then remove them without breaking them, would double-sided tape work?

    • @joeyyandell3219
      @joeyyandell3219  3 роки тому

      I don't have any experience with the 220. I also have never used a temporary solution on the transducers, so i can't really comment on those uses for these.

      Just don't use too much superglue approx 1 small drop in the middle of each and press them down nice and flat. I put too much on last time and made a ridge around the edge of each transducer and couldn't get a razorblade under them. You ideally use 2 strings per transducer. You'd best measure the bridge plate width inside and if 15mm discs are too big maybe Jesse can make you a 330 with 12mm ones :). Have fun, they sound amazing!

    In a band and with loud sound, the transducer microphones suffer feedback? can feedback be controlled in those situations?

    • @joeyyandell3219
      @joeyyandell3219  3 роки тому

      Yes, it can be controlled. I use these in a love loud situation. If the situation is super loud I still put a feedback buster in my guitar.

    • @verboproductora3225
      @verboproductora3225 3 роки тому

      @@joeyyandell3219 in those situations is a preamplifier necessary or can it also be used without preamp and equalize from the console?

    • @joeyyandell3219
      @joeyyandell3219  3 роки тому

      @@verboproductora3225 no preamp is needed, however it will help. I typically use an Lr bags para DI, direct to my console. It has EQ options on it, however still not necessary. You can just use the EQ on the console.

    • @clintwhite3021
      @clintwhite3021 3 роки тому

      Ive had mine absolutely cranked and no feedback problems. I would also say they are a lot less prone than a undersaddle piezo plus they don't distort when playing hard and loud :). A Boss GE-7 or a MXR 10 band make a great preamp, you just want a minimum 1Mohm input impedance. Though I have used a 500k eq pedal and it just needs a little more bass boost.

    Is this the same pickup as the Journeytek EP001K?

    • @joeyyandell3219
      @joeyyandell3219  Рік тому +2

      It shares the same technology, however journey uses 20mm piezo discs, and this setup uses 15mm. To my ears the 15mm works best on solid top guitars. The 20mm(journey) can get very bass heavy.

    • @robertsteinberger
      @robertsteinberger Рік тому +1

      @@joeyyandell3219 thanks for the detailed answer. I prefer the treble of the Journeytek, though, in the demos, since it sounds more natural to my ear. I'd take the bass out with an EQ or multiband compressor ala LR Baggs Session.
