They don't want people to become wealthy. They know very well that wealth is made in ultra short term, so tax it. Long term there is always incidents like Covid, wars, elections etc. Long term is risky too.

Govt want you to trade in properties thereby increasing it's stamp duty revenue. Keep property for too long and you are taxed foolish FM
