    For those on UE 5 and wondering how to get the exhaust particles to work:
    You need to name the user parameter whatever you want and remember that name. In my case I named it Attractor Position.
    When you get to the part where you are going to change the attractor's position, use a Set Vector Parameter pulled off of your instance handle of the particle system component. It should be titled:
    Set Vector Parameter
    Target is FXSystem Component
    Enter the name in Parameter Name exactly as you named it in the system.
    Break out the vector pin and plug in the X value to the X and 1.0 to the Y and Z.
    Back in the particle system drag that user parameter on top of the Attractor Position Offset.
    Remember not to let the absolute value of the attractor radius become = or > than Attraction Radius.

    This tutorial is great, as is the rest of the series. Good job! A very small and minor critique would be updating this for unreal 5. A lot has changed, specifically in Niagra since you put this tutorial out. I had to do some trouble shooting with get the thrusters to update. Other than that this was super helpful!

      Hi!, did you resolve the problem? in UE5 just put "Attractor Position" and works for me,
      only adjust the effect to the maximum acceleration because in mine when I accelerate to the maximum the effect disappears

    Thank you for this awesome tutorial so far until I hit the Attractor Position part with BP and Niagara.
    I am in 4.27 and that variable seems to have been changed to "Attractor Position Offset" which I put into the BP but sadly the thrust doesn't make the thrusters perk up.
    Any ideas?

      Yeah, I'm stuck on that same issue and tried the same thing. I doubt he's going to come back to this so I guess we're on our own. If you're still working on this I guess let me know what you did to fix this. I'll also let you know if I figure it out.

      16:11 ==> The target variable name in 'Set Niagara Variable (Vector3) should be 'User.Attractor Position' rather than 'User.AttractorPosition' ; Notice the 'space' ... This solved it for me :)
      I had this name by copying the linked value to the Attractor Position in the ThrusterEffect Niagara System:

    Hi there + 1 subscriber thank you. I have a problem though.. I get a heat blur no matter what I do.. I don't get any color .. at all why is that.? and at timecode 14:10 I do exact same with you but get NO Static Color in the thrusters...

    is this still possible to create on unreal engine 5.4? i need thrusters that work with fast moving objects. The free vfx from the market are garbage so i want to create my own. i will attempt this.
    update: this is working as of 5.4. at least the thruster emitter system part, cause thats all i needed.

    Was anyone able to get this to work in 4.26.2? I tried following what some of the commentors suggested, but it's not working for me. The thrust speed has no affect on the thruster emitter.

    When your plane is rolled 90 Degrees with the wings vertical does the plane Yaw like a throwing star because of the rotation?

    the only problem that i have with this whole project is lagging (jitering) plane. I don't know is this camera spring arm problem or maybe plane variables update lag.

      Try turning off camera lag for the spring arm. If that fixes the jittering then the issue is with the spring arm and you might have to adjust some of that values. I'm not sure why it would be jittering though,...

    Is it normal that in your video has "8 Min 02" when you look for the "One minus Float" I do not find it in my system ...? Which Engine do you use?

      It's possible. Niagara is still pretty new and they're changing it a lot. I'm on 4.25

      Hmm you can turn on replicate movement but im not sure it will work so well, it wasnt designed with that in mind

    Unreal 4.25 is crashing when try to use "Read from user parameter" (10:20) . Anyone having the same problem?

      i figured out a solution after some time, go to parameters>User Exposed> click the + sign and create a new vector. Drag that into the point attaction force and rename it so you can use it in the blueprints. Works just fine

    In 4.26 everything worked except the thruster effects....I literally tried to do everything that I could think off but nope...They didn't stretched like yours did.

      Yeah, I wasn't able to get mine to work either. Niagara is going through a lot of changes in each version update though and when I was following a long there were quite a few new features that I didn't see in Reids clips.
      He was also learning Niagara for the first time himself so we can't really expect much. Wish I could help you figure it out, but honestly I'm not too concerned. I just wanted to mess around with a jet for a bit.

      increase the "Attraction Radius" in the point attraction force node in Niagara.

      I found that the naming/str has changed to expect whitespaces. So now it only works it you enter variable name: User.Attractor Position. In your emitter system you can find your user variable under Parameters > User Exposed, right-click it and select Copy Reference. Then you can paste the string into your BP exactly as it's expected!
