You can tell the dude is introverted as hell. I recognize all the signs, little eye contact, squeezing the hands etc. Would just like to say I'm proud of what Mr. Steele has accomplished up till now. Obviously a very talented musician that lives in his own space, which is always admirable.
This album is the perfect example of how a persons soul breaks out to the fulfillment of the individual... these songs are more than music, the production work is fantastic for the lyrics....
I have no knowledge of this guy apart from listening to one of his songs recently, quite a handsome dude, body language tells all, my favorite is Walking on a dream, where I first heard this song from a movie True Spirit, Jessica Watson - Australian who sailed around the world, just fell in love with this song. Great music for some listeners, keep up the good music Dude!! From New Zealand
"I can't sing myself out of a panic room." Dude, I wanna see that. Ha ha! I beg to differ. I think Luke COULD sing himself out of a panic room. Just listen to Personality. Legendary vocal performance.
"when i went to do the livestream, i couldn't stop blinking." - That really pulled me in on "keep on trying". I respect Luke so much for going very deep on this. 👍
I actually love the Dreams album, even years later we still play a few of the songs at work. I found it different and something that kinda pulled me out of the basic reality and into something with character. I love all of Lukes projects he just makes magic
😂😅 Great description! I had the same WTF reaction! Have you seen him in the "Miniskirt" video with The Sleepy Jackson? Yet another look! I think he was younger then...
Singers cannot hold falsetto notes as when they were younger. As one ages, the vocal cords stretch and your voice changes somewhat; especially if one smokes. However, the empire of the Sun songs are the greatest!!!
Watched that interview several times. Obviously Luke struggles with "getting older" already at an age of 43?! OMG, still so young! I think, Mick Jagger (80) hadn't wasted a second of thinking about "he's getting older", up to now🤣! Same Jon Bon Jovi (62). Barry Gibb (77) still performs singing high tones, which became his "trademark". Also for him this isn't his vocal "comfort zone", for sure. So, Luke, pull out all the stops, God gifted you a million awesome talents. Use them, and stay motivated. If the Solo-Album, if Empire of the Sun - all fantastic work!
As a die hard Empire of the Sun fan, I can't feel his new music, he made a ft on a pnau song not too long ago that was pretty solid, gave me that Empire of the sun vibe. But not his solo stuff
I feel like when luke steeles dad was telling him ,when he was young.. "the music industry is hard". if he knew it would be like it was, he would have smashed his guitar over his fathers head and become pro HOBO..
I listen to some of his new album it sounds rather folksy i.e. folk music. Would love to see him sing behind an orchestra, yet best wishes on his new album nevertheless.
Why blank out the word pandemic? Are we supposed to pretend it didn't happen? Or that pandemics aren't a thing? Or is it to once again protect soft people's feelings?
Oh my, where to start....First of all, Empire of The Sun was and still is one of the best bands. To be honest it's a shame that Luke and Nick split up. Look at Nick and PNAU, amazing remixes and film soundtracks, they're having a blast. Luke on the other hand....firstly he shouldn't hang out with that heroin addict junkie because that affected Luke in a very bad way. His music reflects way too strong abuse of drugs. Luke has been taking way too much, his music is average, nothing like Pnau, nothing like Empire of the Sun. What is the lesson to be learned, you ask? Don't hang out with junkies. Continue creating amazing music (Empire of The Sun and now PNAU).
Luke Steele takes us through a more personal journey with his solo debut album 'Listen To The Water.' Hope you enjoy the interview. -Rob

What a soulfully beautiful man. As much as I adore his previous works, I appreciate the man and artist he has become. Completely mesmerized.

You can tell he has a deep spirituality...a good attribute. I really love his work!
"I can't sing myself out of a panic room." Dude, I wanna see that. Ha ha! I beg to differ. I think Luke COULD sing himself out of a panic room. Just listen to Personality. Legendary vocal performance.
I can't stop thinking about the "Without you" soundtrack looks so good!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Dang!! He’s looks good here!! 😍
Luke is a hero of mine. Tennis and Empire of the Sun are the best two bands of the last decade.
"when i went to do the livestream, i couldn't stop blinking." - That really pulled me in on "keep on trying". I respect Luke so much for going very deep on this. 👍
Great interview. This guy is one of the most important musical artists of the last 2 decades. Fucking gem!
I actually love the Dreams album, even years later we still play a few of the songs at work. I found it different and something that kinda pulled me out of the basic reality and into something with character. I love all of Lukes projects he just makes magic
Wtffffff he looks so different
It's the long hair & beard & he's aged a bit. Will always love him & his music.
He went from an Elitist in the Hunger Games to Hipster Jesus 😂
😂😅 Great description!
I had the same WTF reaction! Have you seen him in the "Miniskirt" video with The Sleepy Jackson? Yet another look! I think he was younger then...
@@Starseedbodhi Yes!

He didn’t sell his soul
@@chrisg3493 bye 🙄 y’all delusions
The album is really beautiful. A bit similar to when he first started out with Sleepy Jackson.
Great interview
😊 So excited for this 😁 great surprise 😎🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Luke looks like a mix of Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. Tarantino should call him soon !
Love your album man!! Thanks 🙏❤️

Absolutely spot on. His range reminds me of Barry Gibb.
The Sleepy Jackson was so good.
Makes Paul Kelly look like a wiggle

He is very important to music...
Imma have to listen to the new album! Great interview!!
Have been listening since “pack of nails” ❤
This Album reminds me of when Eddie Vedder did Ukulele Songs... it's pure soul music. Beautiful work Luke ❤️ #perthchic
good interview
He still looks incredible for his age
Looks like he's rocking the Ian Astbury look circa 1989.
Bless him, he looks so uncomfortable ❤
Go back and listen to his stuff with The Sleepy Jackson and you'll see he's going back to that voice.
As a die hard Empire of the Sun fan, I can't feel his new music, he made a ft on a pnau song not too long ago that was pretty solid, gave me that Empire of the sun vibe. But not his solo stuff
Die langen Haare.. 😮. Aber super Musik!! Love it... ❤❤.
I see he's abandoned the village hidden in the rain
Or maybe he's a Dead by Daylight fan
Nice bloke.
I feel like when luke steeles dad was telling him ,when he was young.. "the music industry is hard". if he knew it would be like it was, he would have smashed his guitar over his fathers head and become pro HOBO..
Geez glad he didn't lol

Bruh he went from a gay British diva to a southern country guy lol
they were never gay they both are married with kids lol
@@baggedtuned8569 He’s clearly not being literal. He’s not a Southern guy either
Luke still hasn't reached his Final Form.
He is like a caucasian jet li

definitely not pretending. Unfortunately certain words and phrases are not allowed in the YT partner program:(
😂🎉
So Luke is a pilgrim now? Ok, got it....
Plsss 😭😭😭
Let me man wear what he wants, everybody likes something. Not everyone wears t shirt and jeans eh Marty old pal?

EXACTLY! Truth hurts but reveals a potential path.
