I meant to release this just before the Smash presentation with Terry, but I ran out of time, sorry about that! Though I had to simplify the battle background due to memory constraints, I'm surprised I could squeeze in this many details. If you're curious about how the battle was done, Ness is part of the background, while Terry is pushed to the far right due to an invisible enemy that is 128 pixels wide. Also, fun fact: The reason why I changed the palette of Fourside to be more like Autumn / a sunset / early morning, is because of color limitations during the battle with Terry. Backgrounds are limited to 15 colors, and the Ness sprite I made (CVS2 style) takes all of them, so I had to make the Monotoli Building have skin colors as well. There is apparently a workaround to make backgrounds have 32 colors, which I'll look into for future videos. :)
I had such a big smile and laughed at the voice clips when they appeared, this turned out really good! Sincerely hoping that more people will come to appreciate Terry, Fatal Fury/KoF, and all the other classic fighting games as a whole, a lot of them have so much charm. Rockin' Dog shall be Ness's Buster Wolf-I gotta see that match happen now in SSBU. Great work, and I'm very much looking forward to the next part with Geese and Porky to hear that bangin' Geese theme!
Ya know Ness's warm up fight with Terry Bogard reminds me of when Ninten first met Teddy. Just to put it short, Terry reminds me of Teddy in that moment

Fuzzy Beetle, The Humbug Giygas could be Porky’s final smash where Giygas would do his signature attack that you cannot grasp the true form of, and Porky would just run away like he does in Earthbound and in Mother 3. That would be amazingly funny.
Off Topic [ kind of ]: Have you guys ever wondered how difficult is to defeat a enemy that just don't die? like... earthbound characters are dawn resistant, you hit them harder and harder and their health just goes down slowly ( even slower when they defend ). it get's really *OKEY* when you're blasted to nothing by strong PK attacks such as THUNDER, FREEZE, FIRE, ROCKIN' AND STARTSTORM... all at omega level of power. Looks very overpowered for me, and i love it ;) [ this mechanic is very different from other rpgs... revolutionary to say the least. ]
Haha, I really do like that mechanic myself. In my OK Nessa ROM Hack, I actually made the HP / PP roll up and down faster due to the big numbers. I believe it's possible to even disable the rolling stats entirely too, so you receive direct damage.

Man one thing i love about the mother series is that the characters are invincible basically. You live and can fight as long as you still have the counter. You win before your hp reaches 0 you're free to just live.

1. By using EB++, a script that contains a lot of useful commands. You can use the "title" command to attach any word / name to any text box. 2. They were edited in. Unfortunately sound effects are the one thing that can't be changed because the game uses the N-SPC sound driver, which means sounds can't be changed. You can edit the notes, but not the sound itself. Might be possible if someone reassembles the sound driver though!

Nah, not at all. It's a gameplay mechanic, not something inconsistent. I suggest you play the games for yourself and see how great it is. Stats are only in the 3 digits at most and you can encounter multiple enemies that attack at once. The extra time you get as your health goes down to land one more hit, or heal yourself right before dying makes the game more fun and unique. When it comes to ROM Hacking, you can also change the speed of the rolling meter which is what I did in one of my videos where the characters had very high stats.

Seems like you haven't played EarthBound. As long as the HP doesn't hit 0, you don't lose. Also this is not an animation but a ROM hack.
