Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) navigate running the third oldest professional football club in the world. Welcome to Wrexham is a docuseries tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club.
In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th tier Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for. The worry? Rob and Ryan have no experience in football or working with each other. From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.
The docuseries is produced by Boardwalk Pictures.

Going from sports fan to club owner must be wild.
I quite like the the advice he gives Rob here. Don’t be trigger happy to please fans or/and for instant gratification . Look at the bigger picture to see if yr still heading in the right direction. Glad they stuck with PP.
Not an American or an eagles fan. But you can see the sincerity in the owners voice here. He seems a very calm and collected person. The energy etc he gives off makes you feel like he is a good guy. I don't actually know though. Talking about the philly owner here, not Rob haha.
As a lifelong Philly fan, this is an fun moment but man am I jealous the life Rob lives must be incredible
Yep this series is awesome too.
Same, owning a football team, being on a hit tv show that is still going after 23 years and having a hot wife that you met on set of said long-running sitcom sounds like a fantastic life.
A great interview with one of the best club owners in the business, in the final week before the Superbowl.
Mate as a person who live in Butt Fark nowhere in Australia I watch locals rally behind whatever sport their kids want to play. Rugby League is a big part of the local sport, Rugby Union, Soccer (Football) is a sport that's trying. I would like to get anything that kids out on a field, learning about healthy competition, team work and mateship.
notice his very slight grin when he says its unpredictable lol..thats dupers delight
That gave me a new perspective of the genius that is Jeffrey Lurie
So Amurican, lol
You mean it's decent people talking sense?
