I'm getting very suspicious of games that have Dev interviews before release now. They seem to be following a pattern that seems to be trying to create some sort of hype by showing how passionate they are about their game, only for the game to then suck or at least not hit right. Callisto Protocol was like that, though I thought that game was OK rather than trash as this one appears to be. The best games have their Dev interviews AFTER the game has dropped and knocked it out of the park. Returnal was such a game (PLEASE MAKE VR RETURNAL, PLEASE).
I wonder if there was an interview with the creators of the Psvr2 VR headset? I just want to know why they decided to use Fresnel lenses (in my opinion, with a special coating against reflections), instead of the optical lenses that were in the first version of PsVr. If I'm not mistaken, there were aspherical lenses, similar to those installed in Pimax Crystal.
I’m curious to know if the experience would be different playing in flat screen, as far as the bugs and tracking issues with picking up items etc. I know it won’t fix the core gameplay but I wonder if them trying to cater to both flat and VR affected some of these things. Pretty disappointing to hear, I had high hopes for this one after how active and seemingly transparent the devs were on Reddit, they seemed to be pretty hype to get this game in the hands of the community. It's better in some ways and worse in others. No matter how you play the game it's a bad experience. Interacting with objects and menus is just as bad in 2D as it is in VR but in other ways, you still have to stand exactly right and look exactly right to get the thing you want, interface prompts have the wrong button prompts displayed for what does what, the shop guy is literally broken and you can't buy anything as it all says it costs 0 and you don't have enough, also doesn't say what the items even are, there's no way to view your current ammo counts or other inventory stats except when they arbitrarily pop up at random AND many of the perk cards are just broken. I got a perk card that made you auto-loot ammo pickups and gives you +10% magazine size. My magazine did not go up the 10%, was 12 normally, should've at least gotten 13, AND the ammo pickups just floated to me and got stuck inside me giving me this blinding blue tail of energy streaks the ammo containers have floating everywhere, I couldn't interact with them or loot them and the result was when I ran out of ammo, I was just out. The whole game is like that, it's just a mess, broken geometry, flat textures, lighting that randomly changes states between fullbright and almost completely dark, every part of the interface sucks, the gunplay is gross, the interactions with everything sucks, it's just SUPER disappointing. Tons of youtubers were hyping this up and talking about how great it was in preview and stuff, the developers had tons of interviews where they lied without hesitation. I just took the old PSVR1 and play Star Wars Squadrons...it looks so fantastic for its age and technical possibilities...where are the PSVR2-Titles with this quality?
It took PSVR1 a long time to get most of those awesome games. We're 8 months into the life of PSVR2 and we already have a TON of great games --- way more than PSVR1 had during the same time period. So I think we're good! :D

This was funded by SONY. I just hope this doesn't compromise other future games funded by them. Sad part, dev was super "proud" of this, did one or two AMA, even was here doing an interview. They sold this like that to cash in ASAP.
Bro, your reviews has all I need. I have light autism so I need all strictly on the paper and that + and - at the end with numeric rating is pure perfection for me. Thanks.
Hey Bryan, thanks for the review, appreciate it as always. However, after seeing gameplay footage of GamertagVR, i gotta ask you: is it possible that your current personal situation with the renovation and stuff, did have an extra negative impact on your experience? I always trust your reviews and honesty, and this game will definitely have some bugs and need some patches, but it seems a bit harsh... I don't know, maybe I am just a bit disappointed as I was looking forward to it
From now on, I’m just going to assume that any game for the PSVR2 that’s on sale before release is just going to be bad. It doesn’t even make sense anyway to have your game on sale before it even releases. The last few games that have done this have been terrible.
I’ve said this before, but this speaks to a bigger problem with mismanagement at Sony and it’s not just the VR side. Why are PC and Quest ports turning out better than Sony-promoted/funded titles? Where are *any* PSVR2 video apps? Why is the Marathon reboot a live service game? How are there even layoffs at Bungie right now? They’ve got one big well received title this year in Spiderman 2, but it’s riddled with bugs and more or less the same as the other two Spiderman games. It’s not that they are starving PSVR2 like the Vita, they can barely get any games out the door.
@@WithoutParole I forget that most VR platforms are usually in the same boat with similar experiences. Somebody somewhere always has something decent in the pipeline that will probably come out for everything. Grateful they gave PSVR2 solid specs so it can hold up in the market for a while.
I almost pre-ordered this to get the small discount! Thank goodness I didn't. Thanks for the review. You're the best PSVR/PSVR2 reviewer on the internet. Been watching your videos since the first PSVR.
Ouch! Man what a month, seemed like it was going to be filled with amazing games and it's just a bunch of disappointments. I'll be intrigued to hear your thoughts on Journey and Ghostbusters, because they're definitely mixed too. Oh well, November will hopefully make up for it! Great review Bryan.
Well it looks like the scary part of this Halloween is how meh this game is. At least we have a lot of good games to play and hopefully look forward for. Great review 👍
Ok Saints and Sinners 2 only tomorrow ughh!! I did not expect this game to be this bad i actually thought it would be really good. Thanks for saving us some money bryan we appreciate you
Thanks for the review! I'm so bummed this one didn't end up being great like I was hoping it would. I haven't purchased a new PSVR2 game since red matter 2 came out because I just haven't been excited about any others except for this game which I planned to purchase. Sadly I'll keep waiting.. Fingers crossed AZ sunshine 2 delivers as that's the next one on my radar.
At least Propagation and Switchback kept me busy this spooky month. Why cant other devs take notes from Wannadev and how they nailed Propagation doing the PSVR2 justice! What's their excuse???? Laziness and incompetence strikes yet again. I wouldn't be surprised if Meta had the devs gimp the PSVR2 version on purpose. No wonder these guys didnt give out early review keys and hesitated to go in depth on the game's looks and performance. I smelled the red flag from a mile away. At this point it's safe to say that if no early review keys are given the game is mid at best
I’ll never preorder a game again. I thought this one was gonna be different! I got stuck progressing through the tutorial due to what I’m guessing is a bug. When you bend down, the world seems to move to you unnaturally and makes me nauseous, but in the pause menu, it works normally. I’m gonna give it a solid try, but I def should have waited for the review.
You know we might stop getting broken pieces of shit if everyone stopped pre ordering games. Arizona Sunshine 2 is number FOUR on the canadian psn store and its not even out until december. Giving money to a company (which are all profit driven) based on their word before being handed a product is in the top 3 stupidest things you can do. Stop.
Damn this hurts I was really thinking this would be another the light brigade and the dev seemed really passionate about the game. One thing I hate is the look of picking things up and storing them looks awful
I was really excited for this game and was SO close to preordering to get the PS Plus discount. SO glad I decided to wait for reviews! Thank you for saving us all the time and money on this disappointment of a game. Looks like I will be going back to Synapse, The Light Brigade and Walk About Mini Golf 😄👌🏻💯
Ah man what a shame! Obvs I'm not a dev so have no idea the amount of work that goes in to making a good game but you just can't help wondering, like they came this far, built this much of a game then crapped out on some pretty basic elements. I mean just go play a good game and aim for that! Madness.
@@sirdan357 for sure it wont be for everyone but the vr experience of it is really good. Like how you can easily solve a puzzle by using a gold coin which are easy to find and plentyful
I feel bad for the dev team, I know they poured their hearts and souls into this game. Looks like the game needed more time in the oven, hopefully they add some beefy patches to this.
Since the flop of firewall ultra I decided not to pre-order anymore VR2 games. I was really hyped for The Foglands and was so tempted to place the pre-order so glad I didn't it's looks absolutely shite.
Yup but my review will be a bit later than everyone else's - still dealing with construction and stuff over here. Hoping to get it done by tomorrow morning! :D
It's a bit sad to see such a wasted opportunity, I am sure that many issues can be fixed through patches, but first impressions are damn important for a game.😢 Question! Will you review the psvr2 version of "undead citadel"? Amazing video as always, thank you❤
Meh, the trailer looked great. The game itself feels too janky for me to pick up. What we need is more games like WD S&S - RS8, good examples that VR HAS an audience and that it CAN be great, not half assed games that you play for 2 hrs then forget about.
Man, this one is disappointing. The early footage looked like it had a ton of potential. I saw one of the developers was actively engaging with the WP Discord and taking (often harsh) feedback about the game. Hopefully, somehow, they can turn this one around. I'm not holding my breath though. As always, great job on the review. Hopefully there'll be better games for you to cover soon!
Wow. This one hurt. I was really looking forward to this one. Thank you for saving me a waste of time and money. It really must have hurt for you having to play through the whole thing when there are so many better other games vying for attention. Thanks again for doing that for us.

You’re here to give honest reviews to us regardless, thanks for the constant great content and congrats on the 100k!
What went wrong.. PSVR1 had a ton of good, fresh and original games and most of what I'm seeing for PSVR2 is average or subpar nonsense like this. I was hoping that PSVR2 would really give VR in general a huge boost again :-/
PSVR1 also had a ton of garbage, like every other console ever made. It's easy to filter out the bad stuff and luckily PSVR2 will also be remembered for the great games, not the crap
Oh absolutely and of course. Just saying that PSVR1 had a lot of really great games. What I've seen so far for PSVR2 has been really disappointing for me personally. Astro Bot is still one of the greatest VR games ever made, I was hoping/expecting we would get more games on that same level. When I saw this Foglands review it reminded me again how VR never really evolved of the recent years. @@WithoutParole
I know it's confusing but the recommended price is basically "if the complaints i listed don't bother you, here's a fair price for the game." I think it goes without saying that I don't actually recommend buying a 3.5/10 at any price :D
I’m not sure if this is going to scare me enough to get into it. But I’ll give it a try if the Cats say it’s a go‼️‼️‼️ but I’m 🥱waiting with bated breath
Damn, that sucks. I'd been really looking forward to this one too. Shame to hear it's just...bad. At least with games like Tennis On-Court the gameplay was there, but there were issues that can be fixed, The Foglands just sounds like a mess 😓 Thanks for saving me some money on this.
Yikes! Spooky review. This seems like another situation where they could improve the game over the next year to fix all the jank, but at that point nobody will care.
Damn it Bryan! If you released this video 5 minutes earlier, I would have been able to save $3 on this game but it’s a good thing I didn’t buy it in the first place😂
Why are so many games coming out that look like they may as well be on Quest? Performance mostly. It just makes no sense, is the PSVR2 hard to develop for or something? The quality just isn’t there, any game that comes out I have to wait to see a review to find out if it is blurry, low quality or sometimes actually worth buying over a Quest 3 counterpart, usually Quest 3 is better despite lower textures yet it performs better and runs at sharper resolutions. What is going on? As a platform I’m starting dislike PSVR2, RE4 is all I really have to look forward too.
Yikes. So this month ended up being all bad instead of the insane month of games I expected. I learned my lesson and didn’t pre order this one after ghostbusters and the rest burned me.

@@rottieman After speaking with the devs on Reddit, I personally just wanted to support them. Lesson learned.
Last time I pre-ordered a game was Cyberpunk. You’d think I had learned my lesson then.
@mailosdoe206 cyberpunk 🤣🤣hope for your sake it was pc and not ps4!
I don't know, maybe I am just a bit disappointed as I was looking forward to it
#viewertakeover
Man, really felt like October was gonna be the month that psvr2 finally came out swinging and shut all the haters up 😢
From now on, I’m just going to assume that any game for the PSVR2 that’s on sale before release is just going to be bad.
If it makes you feel better apparently the Quest version of The Foglands sucks too...
@@WithoutParole I forget that most VR platforms are usually in the same boat with similar experiences. Somebody somewhere always has something decent in the pipeline that will probably come out for everything. Grateful they gave PSVR2 solid specs so it can hold up in the market for a while.
We need more demos!
Having two good games seems like enough to me.
Well it looks like the scary part of this Halloween is how meh this game is. At least we have a lot of good games to play and hopefully look forward for. Great review 👍
Not even meh but flat-out bad lol
Good thing I waited. Almost pulled the trigger to get the 3.50 discount.
Ok Saints and Sinners 2 only tomorrow ughh!! I did not expect this game to be this bad i actually thought it would be really good. Thanks for saving us some money bryan we appreciate you
Ive been playing the Foglands all morning and I agree with everything you’ve said here. I’d also like to add that there isn’t even a platinum trophy.
Wow. People had been looking forward to this one since the launch of the headset. 7 would have disappointed them. 3.5? Ouch.
Dang it! I was really looking forward to this one. 😮 Well, back to Light Brigade then...
Thank you Bryan for being on our side and always giving an honest review.
That explains why reviews were not out earlier
I’ll never preorder a game again. I thought this one was gonna be different! I got stuck progressing through the tutorial due to what I’m guessing is a bug. When you bend down, the world seems to move to you unnaturally and makes me nauseous, but in the pause menu, it works normally. I’m gonna give it a solid try, but I def should have waited for the review.
I hate to be harsh but about damn time
Well I did it. After this review I finally picked it up for Halloween....
Propagation:Paradise Hotel.
Thanks for the review bro. I had high hopes for this one! Keep the community informed. We appreciate it!
Thanks for saving me $35! Appreciate it
You know we might stop getting broken pieces of shit if everyone stopped pre ordering games. Arizona Sunshine 2 is number FOUR on the canadian psn store and its not even out until december.
Giving money to a company (which are all profit driven) based on their word before being handed a product is in the top 3 stupidest things you can do. Stop.
@TheSurfheart Right its not like they'll be sold out.
Im surprised companies havent thought of limiting access yet 🤔
People need to stop believing youtubers hyping up games all the time
Damn this hurts I was really thinking this would be another the light brigade and the dev seemed really passionate about the game. One thing I hate is the look of picking things up and storing them looks awful
This was a brutal month. Did someone here piss off a witch or something?
Damn! It doesn't even look as impressive graphically as I thought it was going to. Did they change the art style from the trailer?
Skipping and waiting for Vampires after tomorrow.
My expectations for this game was low low low. I never expected it to be good. Just like happy fun land
I'm strangely excited for Happyfunland - hopefully I'm not setting myself up for disappointment! :D
I would like to suggest a series of recommendations of the month for games released in that month
Gutted, I’ve been hoping this was good. Seems like a delay probably should have happened here too.
I am French but i only trust this channel reviews are always sincere and objectiv imo
Sheeesh. I thought this game would at least get a 6.5
Ah man what a shame!
Obvs I'm not a dev so have no idea the amount of work that goes in to making a good game but you just can't help wondering, like they came this far, built this much of a game then crapped out on some pretty basic elements. I mean just go play a good game and aim for that! Madness.
It sort of looks like a reskinned The Light Brigade. Too bad it seems so buggy, I'd probably enjoy it. I'll wait for some patches.
7th Guest VR is excellent incase anyone was looking for one good psvr2 game for Halloween
I think it's good if you grew up with that style of game but I can see a lot of people not liking it.
@@sirdan357 for sure it wont be for everyone but the vr experience of it is really good. Like how you can easily solve a puzzle by using a gold coin which are easy to find and plentyful
Invaluable service Bryan. You've saved me a lot of money this month.
Well thats a bummer to hear
I feel bad for the dev team, I know they poured their hearts and souls into this game. Looks like the game needed more time in the oven, hopefully they add some beefy patches to this.
3.5? Dang son.
Since the flop of firewall ultra I decided not to pre-order anymore VR2 games. I was really hyped for The Foglands and was so tempted to place the pre-order so glad I didn't it's looks absolutely shite.
Will you be reviewing the vampire VR game?
Yup but my review will be a bit later than everyone else's - still dealing with construction and stuff over here. Hoping to get it done by tomorrow morning! :D
@WithoutParole I look forward to watch it!
I know this is off topic for the video, but this seemed like the best community to ask. About to buy psvr2, is Pavlov alive enough to buy still?
It's crossplay so the community is pretty big, but if you're ever having trouble finding people to play with our discord is a good place to start! :D
I played on Saturday and many servers were active with full lobbies. People love Pavlov. Recommend it
It's a bit sad to see such a wasted opportunity, I am sure that many issues can be fixed through patches, but first impressions are damn important for a game.😢
Question! Will you review the psvr2 version of "undead citadel"? Amazing video as always, thank you❤
Dang. I had some real high hopes for this one when I bought my PSVR2. I guess if I’m going to play a roguelike, I’ll stick with Synapse.
i think it looks cool atleast
Meh, the trailer looked great. The game itself feels too janky for me to pick up. What we need is more games like WD S&S - RS8, good examples that VR HAS an audience and that it CAN be great, not half assed games that you play for 2 hrs then forget about.
Nice review! I see you ran into some problems that I did not. Definitely disappointed nonetheless
Congratulations 100 k
I didn't hold don't much hope for this title on personal preference alone but this settles it, great review thanks 👍 ❤
Wow. This one hurt. I was really looking forward to this one. Thank you for saving me a waste of time and money. It really must have hurt for you having to play through the whole thing when there are so many better other games vying for attention. Thanks again for doing that for us.
It feels like you're shooting with a pop gun.
Goddamnit I was hoping this game would be good, why, because I liked the look of the character on the cover 😂
Ouch lol, I'm glad I decided against this one for my VR Halloween fix
Sony please make Returnal VR! This would at least be a good rogue like game!
That interview with the dev was great… this review proves that you don’t give a shit about how friendly or nice devs are and the fact that they use up their time to let you interview them…. You’re here to give honest reviews to us regardless, thanks for the constant great content and congrats on the 100k!
"Half Life: Alyx of indie games 🤣🤣"
So. Vr supported game with very heavy emphasis on the “support” side of it. Dang. I was hoping. Wishful thinking I guess.
This is really unfortunate, I was looking forward to this one
Why is the recommended price $15, it seems like zero is still a bit high for this.
At least with games like Tennis On-Court the gameplay was there, but there were issues that can be fixed, The Foglands just sounds like a mess 😓
Thanks for saving me some money on this.
Great review, as per usual mate
First firewall now this! I’m done buying any PSVR2 game till I see gameplay.
That's a shame as I was looking forward to this. Not sure I'll bother now and stick with ghost signal.
Saved me some dollars, thanks
Why are so many games coming out that look like they may as well be on Quest? Performance mostly. It just makes no sense, is the PSVR2 hard to develop for or something? The quality just isn’t there, any game that comes out I have to wait to see a review to find out if it is blurry, low quality or sometimes actually worth buying over a Quest 3 counterpart, usually Quest 3 is better despite lower textures yet it performs better and runs at sharper resolutions. What is going on? As a platform I’m starting dislike PSVR2, RE4 is all I really have to look forward too.
I have high expectations for this one, the devs were really honest and active on reddit
Yikes. So this month ended up being all bad instead of the insane month of games I expected. I learned my lesson and didn’t pre order this one after ghostbusters and the rest burned me.
Propagation, Ghost Signal, and Red Matter were all phenomenal FYI :D
@@WithoutParole red matter sure but I played it years ago , propogation is scary and I’m sick of scary non stop , and ghost signal yes it’s good. But I’m also burnt out on look down on control a scene games. You know what’s missing from PSVR2 …. Solid interesting games outside of the same old VR bag of tricks.
I'm surprised the recommended purchase price isn't N/A.
