  • I still have great fun playing Paulinhos arrangements. Here is another lovely interpretation of his.
    I changed a few details myself again, and made a mix from several recordings. One live performance, the medley from "Antologia do Violão" and the version on "O Fino do Violão Vol. 2".
    I recommend listening to both albums as well as the original.

    Not really sure why I never got to it before now in 6 years, but I finally wrote down the chords for my recording. You can see the txt here: drive.google.com/file/d/1_biukTib0tmHO-eYmD9NKnmqqWv8wtnY/view?usp=sharing
    It's in standard tuning, simplified tab format, in the order in which it's played.

      Hi, I just wanted to say I really appreciate you tabbing this out. I just had a question: when I play along, it sounds like my guitar sounds a bit off, even though it’s in standard tuning. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I don’t know how else to ask it.. do you know if there’s anything I can do about that?

    • @tobiaswildenmusic
      @tobiaswildenmusic  2 роки тому +2

      @@josem9408 Oh, you're right. It's tuned just a bit higher and is between E and E sharp I guess. Sorry. I would adjust your tuning by ear to fit the pitch from the video, since it's just a tiny difference. For example from 0:13 to 0:17 you can hear the open 5th and 6th strings pretty well and just use that as a base for the rest.

    I love your rendition of this and other Brazilian classics. But keep coming back to this one. I spent some time in Brazil in my long-ago youth….this song captures the heart of Brazil to me. So thank you!

    Aníbal Augusto Sardinha (São Paulo, 28 de junho de 1915 / Rio de Janeiro, 3 de maio de 1955) foi um extraordinário compositor e violonista. Adotou o nome artístico de Garoto, tornou-se um dos maiores violonistas brasileiros de todos os tempos, sendo influência para músicos do calibre de Carlos Lyra, João Gilberto, Raphael Rabello, Dino 7 Cordas, Baden Powell.
    Filho do casal de imigrantes portugueses Antônio Augusto Sardinha e Adosinda dos Anjos Sardinha. Além de violonista, Garoto foi um músico multi-instrumentista, dominando também o banjo, cavaquinho, bandolim, violão tenor, guitarra elétrica, havaiana, portuguesa, além de compor e fazer arranjos para estes instrumentos.
    Começou a carreira bastante cedo, com apenas 11 anos de idade, o que lhe rendeu o apelido de "O Moleque do Banjo" e posteriormente Garoto. No final de 1952, a partir do programa "Música em
    Surdina", da Rádio Nacional, o diretor musical Paulo Tapajós formou com Fafá, Garoto e Chiquinho do Acordeon o Trio Surdina. Gravou com artistas do calibre de Carmen Miranda, Dorival Caymmi, Ary Barroso. Garoto passou a carreira entre estúdios de rádio do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo, e esteve por algum tempo com o Bando da Lua, nos Estados Unidos, nos anos 40. Mesmo assim, não conseguiu firmar-se lá. Vivendo sempre uma vida semifamélica, só ficou realmente famoso e conseguiu bastante dinheiro como compositor em 1954. Naquele ano, ganhou um concurso da Prefeitura de São Paulo, que queria uma música para o IV Centenário da Cidade. A vencedora foi o seu dobrado "São Paulo Quatrocentão", sua e de Chiquinho do Acordeon. O disco vendeu centenas de milhares de cópias, atingindo a marca de 700 mil exemplares vendidos. Contudo, como instrumentista, Aníbal recebeu, como era comum na época, apenas o dinheiro pela gravação, e não pelo copyright do disco. Faleceu em 1955 de ataque cardíaco quando planejava uma excursão à Europa.

    Do you know the lyrics of this song? Sang by "Silvio Caldas" ?
    It's just beautiful, a classic and gentle song, that speaks about the humble people of the countryside and favelas of Brazil.
    I recommend, obviously!
