"truck driver here" it's not that we are dangerous (but some are); it's that the normal car driver doesn't understand that our vehicles don't react like a car.
Exactly and cars do not respect trucks. They treat them like cars. It goes both ways. We need to be safe and we need to understand that trucks cannot react like cars. It's so obvious to truckers but obviously not two cars. So please respect trucks not in the way that you think but in the way that will save your life.
Non Truck driver here, but I make sure to give trucks space and make sure I can be seen as best I can. I know that my car is basically tissue paper against the mass of a semi. I've mostly never had any issues.
"truck driver here" We can't relax we have to stay on alert for 4 wheelers that will do stupid things on the road, 1 bad move can get our CDL revoked and there goes our job no CDL, no more driving our truck.
I understand that but twice it's happened to me like it's just because they can. They would just get the cab past me then before they started coming over and wasn't going to stop, almost hitting me with the middle of the haul. I know they saw me because they both slowly passed me. Had to slam on my brakes. Like to run me over both times. Both just north of Dallas.
@@thesimwarlock of course it's not worth your CDL I get it. I'm just talking about how it feels like out there and how hard it is to deal with those who don't respect the rules of the road. I guess that goes without saying.
It is common in the US for every driver to have their own vehicle. So more people at the house equals more vehicles. Each has their own preference for type, so two trucks makes perfect sense! 😅
I stopped mid-sentence when teaching. My class was saying to me, "Earth to Miss R. Come in Miss R." When I heard them I "came back" and continued with the sentence. Lol!
We use the word "truck" for everything from a mini-truck to a semi with a massive trailer. So some comments are directed at pickup trucks and some at professional tractor-trailer combination. Our English is as simple as possible as so many Americans use English as a second language, and its one of the most difficult to master. SUVs are also usually considered "trucks" for licensing purposes.
I saw a guy once leave the gas station with the pump still in his truck. Funniest thing ever. Started driving away till someone else yelled him down to tell him.
As a semi driver The crazy s*** that you see going on happens a lot more than you realize you do not understand. It's a constant thing that we deal with. So when you see one going off the rails you understand. Not that it's justified but it happens....
Lewis, for when you come to America and drive, here's some tips: If you accidentally cut someone off, accelerate and get out of the way asap. If someone is going to hit you, let them hit you, it's better for their insurance to pay then your insurance thinking you're an idiot for being in a single-car accident. Don't be courteous, courteous drivers cause accidents. More often than not, the person that causes multiple car accidents tend not to get hit, they just cause others to hit each other trying to avoid that person's actions.
Truck drivers are strictly regulated in North America. When an accident happens more times than not. It's the four-wheelers fault not the truck drivers
I'll never understand how the dashcam heroes claim to be good drivers but are so ready to honk their horns at a moment's notice. I forget I even have a horn unless I'm waiting behind someone at a green light or Santa is dancing and waving on the sidewalk
As a truck driver I can assure you we do care, but sometimes especially in the rain sometimes you are harder to see. No excuse but it happens sometimes.
Idiots on the highway is why we need self driving cars. ESPECIALLY if we ever want flying cars like we see in movies. Imagine adding even a relatively small 40 drop to the ground to any of these incidents.
You always need 2 cars in case something is wrong with one. If one is dead you are stuck. And depending on where you live, you might be a 5 hour drive to the nearest repair shop.
Just so you know, I have a Subaru Forester that has driving assistance (lane assist, advanced cruise control, etc). That kind of car might be a good option so you’re not paying out the ass for a Tesla.
7:13 that's Las Vegas morning traffic at the I-15/I-95/I-93 interchange. Accident there almost daily as its the major commuter interchange for the area *AND* a constant flow of overstimulated tourists
You ought to try driving, in the pouring rain, NYC in a massive automobile. OMG that was scary! I was glad after it was over however, because people actually moved out of the way! In Washington DC, pedestrians will just walk across the road, not a care in the world, in front of a moving vehicle. Not a care in the world…
Once upon a time, a shaving cream called Burma-Shave had funny small ads that went along the highway (around 1930). Each phrase is a sign: Every shaver / Now can snore / Six more minutes / Than before / By using / Burma-Shave. Then in the 1970s, the Florida Turnpike, the main road from Orlando to Miami (also a toll road), made Burma-Shave inspired signs, like: Oil & Vinegar/ Windows & Bricks/ Drinking & Driving/ Do Not Mix. Those signs don't exist anymore, and it makes me sad. Just a quirk of Florida.
Actually, in the United States. it is illegal for truck drivers to drive more than 11 hours in a 24 hour. If they click caught doing so, they lose their license and go to jail.
lol bro there are 3 people living at my place and 6 vehicles, 4 trucks and 2 cars, plus 2 RV's so really its 8 vehicles PS: it's called the pit maneuver
1:25 If that ever happens to you, and you have video evidence, go ahead and file a police report for reckless driving/endangerment. Just make sure you have a good read on the vehicle's license plate and other vehicle identifying marker numbers. This will eventually reach the company that owns the truck, as well as the state's licensing authority for commercial drivers. Not enough people are doing this, so these drivers get away with it and form bad habits. The companies that hire these drivers want to know, as ultimately it's their money that's on the line when something happens.
7:59 ive had bad eyes my whole life.... have had "corrective lenses" as a restriction on my license since i got it at 18.... u dont have to be 70, lmao
At 3:01, the driver with the camera should be partly at fault for driving in the turn lane. The left turn medians have a max distance allowed. The big problem with folks trying to turn left across multiple lanes is the traffic letting them in the first place.
Let me tell you about my brother's family. He and his wife each had a 4 Wheel Drive SUV because she worked in Vermont and he worked across the river in New Hampshire and it snows quite a bit in the Winter in Northern New England. Their sons each had a pickup truck because one was living at a college in Massachusetts, while the other was still going to high school in Vermont.
When you're driving a semi, that's how you make your money, you're not gonna risk loosing your license because of some idiot. You generally gotta do something pretty f'ed up to cause a trucker to do something like happened in one of the first few scenes.
Idk what you mean by "times when your body malfunctions." i feel like that's just health issues in general. I have times when my floodlight consciousness takes over and my spotlight just kinda turns off, yknow, i kinda go auto pilot mode while I'm doing stuff. that happens all the time
You dont need a tesla for the lane, light and car detection. My parents got an IonQ 5 a couple weeks ago and its got all that, wasnt as pricey as tesla bs and as far as i know, not had any problems with explosions recently
We were driving down our road(2 lane highway) doing the speed limit (55 mph) and a girl didn’t stop at the crossroad and pull out directly in front of us…if the road had upcoming cars she would have caused a wreck…
I HATE when you've been hit in an accident and literally less than 5 seconds later when your brain is still trying to figure out what happened you have other drivers laying on their horn to get you to move because your car (which was obviously JUST hit a few seconds ago and has pieces of it all over the road) shut off when when it was rear ended and rolled a little into the next lane. This happened 20 fking years ago and I'm still pissed because I still deal with medical issues as a result of it. Im not angry about the wreck but the selfish impatient pieces of crap that couldn't give my god damn brain a moment to register that I was just rear ended, my car seat had broke and was now completely reclined, my engine had cut out after the collision and my brakes was out. Just lay all that on someone out of the blue and it's going to take them a second to get caught back up to speed.
Please dont laugh at me. Sometimes for half a second, I forget if I'm watching a clip or in a chat watching a clip annnnd I go to contribute to chat and I'm left questioning my sanity lol. This is all in a millisecond mind you! LOl. I'm 54 and start wondering if this is normal mental decline lol...
Its not that truckers don't care, they have massive blind spots. I am not saying there aren't any A holes out there that would push people off the road. I was pushed off the road by a semi - what you guys call a lory.
Most Truck Drivers can't drive for shit. I'm a truck Driver I see wild shit every day, but tbh. Regular citizens are far worse drivers... I'm nearly killed daily by people driving like shit. I haul oversized overweight loads. People cut me off left n right just to not be behind big slow truck with zero regard for my life.
Nope. Not true. The vehicle in the lane of traffic has the right of way. Always. I had a vehicle back out into a major road and hit me decades ago, and guess who was at fault - they were. Exercising caution and awareness does not negate right of way.

Sleep deprivation definitely adds to the problem with large trucks. 😢
Plz do more of these type but, with your Mom! ❤🎉 Would love to see her reaction and your conversations!!! ❤

Ouch. That’s why they call it an accident. Unless insurance fraud.
2 drivers 😂😅
Interesting to see how the convertible's rear headrests popped up @ 9.26, to act as rollover protection.
Idiots on the highway is why we need self driving cars. ESPECIALLY if we ever want flying cars like we see in movies. Imagine adding even a relatively small 40 drop to the ground to any of these incidents.
I think you were trying to think of "pit maneuver," Lewis.
"I don't read these. I can't be bothered."
So you have no right to ask "What just happened?" then. Cause it literally explains it.

Alot of driveways have multiple cars/trucks.... usually 1 for every person in the house.

the two trucks in the driveway, that might be someone visiting the another person or they own two trucks.
Sometimes multi family members live in one house. So most people don't own more than one truck.

I've been hit by 18 wheelers three times. One time between TWO 18 wheelers. Exciting.

bad thing about truck driving is no one respect the size
2? My neighbor has 4 pickups!
