  • A drywall Supertaper runs tape into a bucket of mud, and applies drywall compound into the drywall tape. The tape is put into a bucket with a strap, and the tape is applied to the drywall surface.
It's a quick and easy way to tape drywall.
Taping drywall, mudding drywall can be easy and fast with the right tools.

Great video brother whats wrong with your auto taper? I love the supertaper for the fact that i can get my helpers to each have there own box of tape with one tool and they tape the closets and garage and stair wells aka scaffold work

How many pan fulls of water would you say you add to your mud when using the supertaper? My mud is either too think to the point where when wiping it starts to get tacky. Or it's too thin and drips everywhere. Nice work by the way.

It's hard to say exactly. I should've shown mud consistency in the video. I make it thin enough that the mud flows through the tool and the tape always has the same consistent amount of mud. I usually mix 2 pails, I use the 2nd pail to keep the first pail with the tool always topped up, that helps keep the tool flowing the proper amount of mud onto the tape. I've found that the tapes getting tacky when wiping, for me, is less about mud consistency, and more to do with when I've laid too many tapes before wiping, and the drywall board absorbed the moisture out of them, which happens fast. The length of this video was about 3 minutes, and that's about the maximum amount of time between laying tapes and wiping tapes, otherwise they start getting tacky and not wiping out properly.

Good info, i wonder if using a bucket instead of an empty mudbox would help keep moisture on the tape. Instead of the cardboard drawing some into itself

I've always just used an empty mud box. Noticed you were using the pail

Try keeping the plastic liner in the empty box. I used to use a empty mud box, still so sometimes, but I always put the liner back in folded over the top.

I used to run the bazooka from the floor, but I eventually and suddenly got a herniated disc in my neck. Couldn't move it left or right, up or down for 3 months, with nerve problems radiating to my arms and legs. Doctor and Physiotherapist reckoned it was from constantly having my neck tilted up looking at a ceiling while running tools for hours on end.
The stilts, I bought the best sur-pro magnesium brand, I wear minimalist shoes on them, I have 4 layers of cork padding on them I glued on, it feels softer than walking on my feet. It's easier on my body as I feel it.
