- Electronics Beats offers up a new addition to its ‘Creators' series here and this time puts the focus on Germany’s @Hainbach.
His UA-cam channel has now garnered an impressive 160,000+ followers and has seen the creator offer up a wide array of video content sharing his vision of ambient and experimental musical production, mostly with lesser known musical creation tools like test equipment, magnetic tape and esoteric synthesisers. As well as his UA-cam channel Hainbach has also released music on many beloved record labels like Opal Tapes and Seil Records, scored theatrical plays, showcased sound installations at galleries, and even created several virtual instruments, plug ins and an app in collaboration with sonicLAB.
His works were once described by THE WIRE magazine as ‘one hell of a trip’ and here we took the opportunity to bring Hainbach further into the limelight with our own glance behind the scenes of this much loved channel and the multitalented creator behind it.
That was a fun interview, and I love the edit. Thanks for stopping by!
Ich bin mir sicher, Stockhausen hätte ein Like dafür gegeben.
So great to see this! (and your channel in general) Always fun and inspiring!
it was about time, m8. lovely to see you popping up in here.
Hainbach has created such a great channel, there's nothing like it. His approach to sound design and music fascinates me as much as it frightens me, and I mean that in a good way.
Nice to know who and what influences your great music!
Cannot agree more.
Weird music equipment is not my thing, but the mere presence of such a seemingly warm and kind and pleasant person in synth YT makes me feel good
I feel like everyone making music loves hainbach… regardless of genre. Such an inspirational guy!
For me, Hainbach is not about the demo's or tutorials. Hainbach is about possibilities, and explorations. Hainbach is the joy of finding amazing little worlds in unexpected places. Hainbach is a Mr Rogers of a global neighborhood. I am happy to tune in, and be his neighbor as we embark on amazing journeys together. I am grateful that Hainbach exists.
Thank you for this portrait of a most brilliant man. His endless joy and enthusiasm has been a real lift not only in the knowledge floor but also the prices of esoteric gear on reverb :) so much love for Hainbach !
Hi Jamie, nice to see you here! We like your Podcasts.
Hainbach makes you feel like it's ok to make a collage of sound from absolutely anything!
It's like a green light.
There it is. The words that describes exactly what I feel about Hainbach and I haven't been able to describe myself.
Hainbach, not only an excellent musician with a lot of sound sensitivity but also has an extraordinary fetish for eye-catching sweaters ;)
underrated comment is underrated.
Love his measurement equipment techno, the best sounding tunes.
Ηe is a very honest and talented presenter and musician !! !!
He is a gem of UA-cam!
His channel is amazing !
Perfect ! So good to have people like he. He is so cool person. ❤
👀 I spy a lab coat. 😳🥼🤣 A very cool overview of Hainbach's awesome channel, enjoyed this interview! 🙌🐀
He got me into tape loops for my modular. Learned so much and i have so much gas for many things now. Saving up for the field kit right now. I hope his software comes out as vst someday.
Well said sir!!thank you for all you do Hainbach
Love that Hainbach and his experimental and unique music making can be a spotlight here :)
Electronic Beats? Hainbach beats them all, he's an Electronic Beast.🤘👍💓
😂
For people that don't have that much space: Plumbutter2 + Rolzer for discovering beautiful rhythms
Good.
Very good.
Thank you for covering HAINBACH. He isnt an artist - he is art. He is a scientist, a historian, the deep soul of electronic music. He captures the curiosity of being a human perfectly.
8:16 He makes such an interesting point about the importance of haptic feedback. I find it much easier to make music using actual equipment, the inspiration comes out naturally compared to digital.
Hainbach is one of a kind! I accidentally found his channel on youtube and started to follow and watch. To me, Hainbach is like a museum keeper, it is always a pleasure to enjoy his storytelling. And by the way, I really recommend everyone to check out his music on preferable streaming service. I really like his tunes!
Couldn't agree more!
Great vid as always, thanks for the inspiration 👍
💙very cool!
My bank account hates him. The nerd in me loves him over the moon.❤ thank you for putting out continuous amazing content, sir!
I relate to this because I worked in experimental nuclear / high-energy physics in the 80s & 90s and we had a lot of old gear in use that was similar. For the same reason I could never do this and love my Hydrasynth and OP-1.
I love the omnichord, it's such a fun little synth. It's also fun listeng to Hainbach talk about synths, music, and creating. Their UA-cam account is great
Brilliant sound research
Hainbach makes the world a better place. That’s all
A true gem.
NICE ONE!!
Hainbach is one of the best out there. He is a true musician and his videos really serve as genuine inspiration to other musicians.
As an implementer of audio test equipment in a previous career, familiar with the world of B&K and the "expected use" of much of this test gear, I appreciate the care @Hainbach has for this equipment. There's a joy in the a simultaneous juxtaposition of knowing what it was intended for, and using it for something completely different, of consciously knowing how the signal chain has been assembled (thanks to his videos) and still getting the unconscious bump of enjoyment of the end result.
amazing!
This guy inspires me to be creative in new ways!
Awesome! Always liked his channel. Nice to get to know the "nerd" behind the magic. Keep on doing what you are doing!
I love Hainbach ❤️
Always loved the pioneers of electronic and tape music. Hainbach is my hero.
I think you have successfully made the video production a part of the compositions themselves. Your attention to the visual aspects is outstanding.
Thank you Hainbach! ❤👏🏽
Legend
Nice!
Hainbach is my favorite mad scientist in music.
my favorite!
Very cool, just want to sequence all of them 😇
My grandfather has the same test equipment. And my grandmother has the same sweater.
We should have tea-time together!
LOL I had no idea you did all these videos and had all this esoteric hardware! Well, looks like I have a lot to learn!
I loved seeing the Fizmo, missing mine :) !!!
Hainbach = Vintage Music Architect
Hainbach is a legend
I love that guy 🫶🏻
Great and interesting video :)
Excellent interview.... I'd have liked to hear more about his compositional techniques as well. But then again, that's well covered on his own channel🤘
🤩 A genius
why the hell did youtube never suggest me this channel? hahah - new abonnent now
It is such a pleasure to watch Hainback's channel. Best source for inspiration and creativity! Thank you for sharing your work, so let me just say: Is always good to have you back!
awesome!!!!
Thank God (or the Big Stretch) for HAINBACH. His experimentation with Ciat Lonbarde Tocante synths and old electrical test equipment is a breath of fresh air. >>>> One can get so weary of constant ranting about Rolands, Bare Ringer, Yamahas, Kurzweils, Korgs, and other mainstream brands. It's nice to learn about more esoteric gear. Who the hell wants to sound like everybody else? Only losers! LOL
Great looking stuff
It’s Dr. Hainbach now.
It's so cool seeing Hainbach on this channel! Hainbach and Telekom beats are both in need of more western attention
It's hilarious to me that most T-mobile customers dont know about the other side of the business 😂
He's great.
'The Hainbach effect' - price of used gear goes 3X the week of the video 😂
Ain't no joke. On another note: massive thanks for Acid Dub Studies 1 & 2, amazing releases.
in japan too.
good
I wish I had a Hainbach action figure 😭
Looks like a nice playground or better reaserch laboratory 👍
Nice sweater
love him
Hainbach rulez
SO MUCH CANDY
legende
A wizard!
💢💢 São Paulo, Brasil 💢💢
Du hast ne coole Hose an ✌️❤️
Love it
Definitiv.
What a very nice engaging person, going to check his channel.📱📲📱📲📱📲
Wurde aber auch Zeit
Anyone know the track at 4:45?
If I were you, I'd try entering stores acting normal, once you get close to garden parts, shout "pipe dreams" into every hole you see.
i need subtitles 💬
Always so relaxing and nice to watch his videos :')
too much spitfire at the first third
no tech support? I'm out!
Think of how energy inefficient all that old equipment is. Not good for environment.
Ya I think the world leaders should fly in their jets for a climate summit. That will help. Surely...
most overrated artists in electronics ever
Whatever you think of him, at least he is original. One of a kind.
A matter of taste. We love original artists.
EB should hire experts like you 😆😂😄😂
Unlike your channel, that's overflowing with creative content.
Poseur 🤮
this video is contributing literally nothing to the scene. what a waste of a platform.
Which scene?
The electronic music scene. You know the one you’re supposed representing
There is no such thing like THE Electronic Music scene, there are many scenes. Maybe this here is just not yours. Fair enough.
@@ElectronicBeatsTV you just don’t get it but what did I expect..
Why waste time with a video / artist you don't like? Isn't it easier to focus on something positive?
As you can see in the comments many people really like the video and Hainbach.
