I remember singing with The Late Great Rev. Timothy Wright when our COGIC Choir had to sing with his choir in Boston, MA. This was the third time I song with Rev. Timothy Wright. I was born and raised in Queens and Brooklyn and it was truly a joy singing with his Choir. This Choir did this song so beautiful. Praises go up Blessings come down.
I listen to this video on the way to work today March 30, 2020. I thank you,Lord for let me still be able to go to work during this storm that the world is going through. Thank you,Lord for your grace and mercy. Yes,Yes,Yes Yes,Yes,Yes Great is your faithful to me. The Lord is here all the honor, all the glory and all the praise. Everyone one be blessed in the name of Jesus the Christ our Lord and Savior ❣
I grew up Methodist and Non-denominational, but I've always been the only in church that clapped on beat and played the tambourine during a praise break. I seriously want to ask my pastor if i can teach a clapping class! lol, I think it takes away from the spirit moving sometimes.
Maybe we shouldn't be so critical! So what if someone hit a sour or flat note, or missed a word etc??!! I know there was a JOYFUL NOISE made in that place & that's what the Word of God says to do! There was total joy in that place, praises went up in that place from the choir stand to the back pew and GOD WAS GLORIFIED....that's all that counts!
At least they are glorifying the Lord with what they have! A sacrificial voice and praise.! Not somewhere cussing and raising hell and demons with their mouths!
I love shout music. I hope it is okay to say that. "When I think of His goodness...and what He's done for me; when I think of His goodness and how He set me free, I can dance dance dance dance dance dance dance all night!" When that man took up his bed and walked (re: John 5:8 "Then Jesus said..."), it must have felt like fire shut up in his bones.
The other acoustic problem is the extremely high ceiling, which tends to "swallow" the sound of the choir. Modern churches need to design churches with superior acoustics, so that the music and "praise sound" can reverberate throughout the sanctuary to the glory of GOD!
I love this church I be waiting for new Videos the Choir is Awesome and the Awesome Mighty Powerful and Anointed Man of God Pastor J bring a Message for God if I was close this would would be a Faithful Member. Elder Marquail T. Hollins
I agree people do have their various opinions! But when it comes to robes, I think and know for a fact that they are a great way to be in accordance to one another. They are a great way to keep all members in uniform and not look like slouches off he street! The robes are true a thing if the past, but we still need to stick with out "historic traditions" if you may. People are too fast to try and modernize the church, forgetting that the Whole reason is to go and get a word from The Lord--
Robes have many practical functions, including: 1. Eliminating all class distinctions--everyone is equal; 2. Covering any and all "figure flaws" of the choristers; 3. Covering any medical hardware/braces and any disfiguring condition of the chorister; 4. Enabling all worshipers in the congregation and the choir to FOCUS UPON THE MINISTRY of the music, and not the gender or body of the choristers; 5. Bringing the beauty of color, design and fabric to glorify God and "make His praise glorious"; 6. Ensuring the MODESTY required of all ministers, so as not to distract from the worship of God, the proclamation of the Gospel or the ATMOSPHERE OF REVERENCE that should always be present in the sanctuary when believers come to praise God!
The most important thing and really the only thing to focus on is the whole purpose of this video being uploaded is to share with the world that we come to praise HIS NAME....COME THOU ALMIGHTY KING...... IT'S PRAISE AND WORSHIP NOT PERFORMANCE.....REAL CHURCH SERVICE, NO EDITING OR TRYING TO MAKE A TAKE.... DON'T GET DISTRACTED AND LOSE FOCUS ON THE PRAISE....THE PASTOR IS TRYING TO GET THE WORD OF GOD OUT TO THE MASSES VIA OF THIS PUBLIC SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM ABD OFFERING INVITATIONS FOR FELLOWSHIP....AS SAINTS WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE THAT AND NOT CRITICIZE OUR FELLOW WORSHIPERS'S USE OF THEIR GIFTS. But I am saying this all in love.... yes she perhaps may be vocally exhausted but she still has her praise....and God is glorified.... never an option to step back or step away.... remember what happened to Lot's wife when she looked back....🧂⏳⌛
Ugh, one of the Sopranos RUINED this for me. It was still FIRE though. Her voice was a little exhausted and a little too into the mic. But again, STILL THE BEST>
Lol.....I was so shocked when I got to college to realize that there were black people that couldn't clap on beat....I grew up in an apostolic church and everybody could clap on beat and even play the tamborine....It was like culture shock to know that not everyone could do that!
Also to Praise him, thank him for a everything done in your life! Not to show off your shoes and clothes. That's one reason choirs wear robes. They are the center focal point of the church. The choir ministers with their all! So if you go up there "unpresentable" to The Lord... What do you expect the congregation to do? Follow the choir. Lead by example is what I tell my choir! Also as far as the choir sounding "weak" they have a system (I'm sure) where they record what is being gathered from their sound board. And matched with the video feed! So, they could perhaps have the choir mics turned to a low db to prevent certain unwanted feed back from the other mics. Especially since they have extras below the choir stand with mics. It helps prevent unwanted hiss and hum as well. You never turn your mics up as high as they can go, unless you want to hear that loud "ring" and a lot of feedback!
In agreement about choir robes. The choir is a ministry and their singing is supposed to be sacred. Robes reflect ministry and sacredness, crucial aspects of the church experience.
AGAIN, with the background singers! Why does the choir have background singers! "it's for the fuller sound..." That's stupid! The choir already has 50+ voices, what more do you need! And the choir has mics... They sounds great, though...
No offense.....but if you go to a professional recording the choir is almost completely turned down so the professional singers will control most (if not all) of the sound. This is the normal...not at all stupid!
well, they aren't background singers....if you noticed, it's the COMBINED choirs that are singing....so more than likely the "background singers" are the worship leaders....just saying
are you calling background singers the line of people in white in front? they are the praise team. the video doesn't do this choir justice. you must hear them in person amd they have a CD. they are led by Stephen Hurd and Anthony Brown
That "weak" sound can come from poorly-placed microphones, the acoustic properties of the sanctuary, and even the fact that the choir may be too far away from the center of the congregation. Usually, the churches are too padded and/or too carpeted for the sound to really reverberate. Those older wooden and stone churches sound better, because the music bounces off those sound-reflective surfaces and there was little carpeting or padding.
I respect Anthony Brown. He is a Stellar Award winner and still finds time to direct the church choir.
Amen. That is all that matters

Another Rev. Timothy Wright classic.🙌
He is considered the godfather of Gospel music.👏 His gift is greatly missed. To God be the glory🙋🏃🏃🏃🏃

I sure do miss corporate worship like this!!!!
This music is not for you to qualify and analyze. It is for the glory of the Lord. He alone is worthy to qualify and analyze what comes to His ears.
What a beautiful sight to see such a joyous choir singing in harmony just praising the Lord

And also, in my opinion I think they sound great. Because I've watched other videos on their channel, and I know 100% what this choir is capable of.

I love to praise the Lord with song! 💗😍
Love it. Praise the Lord our God. Hallilujah.

I needed this!
I love this church so much!!!
Best version!!!❤
I dont know what choir the commenter was listening to who said "this choir sounds weak".U may want to PRAY about your hearing...they were ON POINT!
Prophetess E Buchanan probably bad sound with the choir mic’s especially with that awful sopranos screaming off key over everyone else.
It's clear you've missed hearing appointments......cuz must be tone deaf
Yes Choir Robes Are Great.
Milton Kelly really great. they keep you in uniform with everyone wearing the same robe

Altos definitely on point!
yes lord musicians!!!!
Yes
Altos on point
You're right; some people don't know how to sing and blend, one singer can mess up the whole choir almost, but to GOD be the glory, she means well!!

Can we get this past communion service up? May 26th service, now that was awesome!
SPEECHLESS!!!!

Wow
With a choir that size and looking at the different ages in the choir... what would you suggest. they wear?
🎉

This should be left to Pastor T. Wright. and his gift.

Thats strictly your opinion and everyone has one..
This is not the best version..
Timothy Wright's version from the 80's is WAY MUCH BETTER!!! He led & wrote the song. -_-
You’re point?
Should be fairly simple to do this! Malachi and TJ pls listen to sing , jasai and Terrell learn the music pls!
No fasting with all that activity they need food
LOL THAT WAS CUTE
Who hurt you? 🙄
lol
excellent !!!! the only negative comment...loose the choir robes, they are outdated and are an outdated relic of the past...
This rendition of this song is so lame....the tenors were so off...its not even funny....this choir sounds so white trying to sing this song
for all those people, they sound kinda weak.
