Excellent and informative video oh btw my local fire department just bought their first tiller in the history of the department since the late 1960s early 1970s
Great video and information I always look forward to these videos. Question what if the hazmat engine is on a call and they need that company does another engine take it or do they fill in with another hazmat engine. As a retired firefighter/hazmat tech in St. Louis county it’s amazing the equipment it carries. Again that’s for doing this.
That's funny I noticed on the nyfd HMTU truck44 the zombie outbreak response team emblem I don't know if anybody saw that but i just had to point that out
Loving the videos like always! Not sure if you take requests, but there’s a few I’d like to see. Aerialscope tower ladder Rescue company Fire boat 343 Collapse Rescue Unit Totally fine if you don’t take requests. Just a few friendly suggestions

I got a question was there any such thing as a hazmat technician rescue unit
Not sure if it was officially called that but Rescue 5 used to have a 2nd Piece that they were a hazmat Tech unit prior to Squad 8.
@@SkylerFire yea because I was reading a article about units that were destroyed on 9/11 and it said that
this is the side of fire dept people dont see not only the cost of the equip. but the long hours of training the fire fighters go thought
For sure! Very hard work! Thanks for watching
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
How do they keep the different kits calibrated?
Pretty sure most they can do themselves, they have spare of everything so they switch out and gets sent out or someone comes in.
When is it a rescue company's turn?
Couple Months
Thanks so much Skyler! What means Putty Kit and Sawzall?
Putty kit to patch a hole. Sawzall is a saw
@@SkylerFire Thanks so much
Why doesn’t Squad 18 have a HMTU?
Also why isn’t there one at a regular engine in the Bronx?
All Squads have a HMTU it’s just a Freightliner Cab. Never was added to the Bronx. Maybe one day.
Squad 18 wasn’t on your list in the description
Love the fleet Fridays
@ymu5498 typo thanks! Lol
What type of second piece does SQUAD 1 have
Great video and information I always look forward to these videos. As a retired firefighter/hazmat tech in St. Louis county it’s amazing the equipment it carries. Again that’s for doing this.
Depending on what the hazmat call is, SOP says they are supposed to call another hazmat tech engine or Squad.
@@SkylerFire thanks.
Couple things are wrong, but great video overall!!
Can’t be perfect.
