I had something similar. 2 police came sneaking up my driveway. I was told my half sister in Alaska had called saying I was suicidal. I had not seen or spoken to her in over 6 years and I lived in Oregon. I was detained and handcuffed, then the one cop called the VA hospital and said they reported I was in the hospital the day before and left against consent. Not sure what patient they spoke to but the VA does not give any information over the phone. I informed the cop that was false as I had the plane ticket in my shirt pocket that I had just returned from Orlando Florida 7 hours prior. No good. They took me to a hospital some 140 miles away, where I spent the weekend. In less than 2 minutes of a doctor entering the room he was signing my release. Same cops had to return and take me home. The one in the copilot seat was writing a novel about me wanting death by cop. I told him to remove that nonsense and he refused. Before taking me to the hospital I asked him to turn off the water to my travel trailer. Instead he disconnected the power. So everything in my refrigerator went bad while the frozen plumbing exploded. He had failed to lock the door as well. That was 2007. My mother died in 2009 and all that nonsense by the half sister was to cut me out of her will. Well done. I didn't get a cent, not even things of my own left with my mother due my traveling. In 2013 I permanently left the US and police and relatives have been of no further problem. That half sister, another half sister as well as a half brother are now all dead. The half brother the first to go ibn 2014 while I was mountain biking in the Andes of Ecuador. Both half sisters died in 2015 while I was living in Nicaragua. So all turned out very well. Greedy bastards. I have a completely tax free income exceeding $2.6 million a year along with my wife who has no desire at all to even visit the US, nor do I.
I went to the Department of Human Health Services, on my own will to receive antipsychotics since my situation became too stressful to manage.
However, the psych immediately told me that they called the cops and they were outside to take me to a hospital for a few days. I went there to get medication to work on my shit and they were gonna throw me in there anyways because "I was a danger to myself at that time".
Danger to myself at that time? I walked in here calm, to talk about my shit, and work on it. Now I'm getting arrested?
Broken system, I can see why people don't go to get the help they need.
This is proof police do not give 2 💩 about the citizens they are paid to serve and protect. Arresting someone you are sent to help during a supposed mental health crisis is absolutely insane and unhinged.
I was under the impression they don't even give one.
They even said he would probably be immediately released after being booked. IF he was potentially going to hurt himself...why is the cop so confident they won't get admitted to a facility? Welfare was not the agenda or concern.
I'll be happy when people stop throwing out "serve and protect". It's long been established in court they have no legal obligation to do either one. Time for people to STOP expecting this out of them and support ending qualified immunity.
"Serve the masters, protect capital"
Serve and protect isn't the goal of le anymore. Now it's collect and incarcerate.
Telling coworkers his business, someone help this dude. 🤦♀️
No one will help him since Americans are total narcissists and only care about themselves or when something happens to them.
Seriously ridiculous and they all keep their jobs smfh. Seriously hope to see an update on this situation
Aww. The cops cared so much about his mental well-being that they went out of their way to give this guy a lawsuit for a major pay out 🥲 how nice. We need more caring cops like this
😂😂😂 lmao cause you are spot on!
Just cops giving away more taxpayer money.
They don't know what confrontational means. They also filed a fraudulent police report.
cops will always lie to justify their criminal behavior and the fact the charges were dropped just shows someone knew it was rubbish yet the officers aren't automatically held accountable for their actions, which in my opinion they should be
Of course they did. They are cops. They lie as easily as they breathe.
“You have no violation of rights when you are arrested” wow. This is the state of mind of Police…
This seems almost as if the ex-wife wanted something on his record in regards to it being either known to be suicidal or an obstruction charge in order to gain something in the divorce, or later down the line. These officers did absolutely nothing to either show any empathy toward him, nor show any knowledge of the actual call they were attending, because as soon as he didn't want to talk to them, the 'welfare check' goes right out of the window
As soon as he said he was fine, it should have ended. There was nothing else he could do to prove he needed any help.
It was an attempted murder. She made a big deal about telling 911 he might be armed and dangerous. High chance cops just mag dump on him for "officer safety". She was trying to up that 50% divorce settlement to 100% by becoming his widow..
Yeah and then she tells them he must have stolen his father in laws blood pressure pills. She was definitely trying to fuck with him.
It's almost like the welfare check isn't their concern....weird.
cavalierly depriving a person's freedom, destroying their precarious employment and ability to earn a living, how does that demonstrate community care to a vulnerable individual?
That's just it. Cops DON'T care. They are not protectors, they are not guardians, they are not 'sheep dogs' safeguarding the flock. They are ravening wolves among the sheep, tearing apart the flock.
And they MUST be stopped.
Or even the ones who aren't vulnerable. Satan is there for that.
If the man wasn't in a mindset to delete himself before, now he definitely is. They really helped him out a lot.
They decided he didnt want to kill himself badly enough, this was their way of nudging him over the line. You know, “help” him until he was there.
@@janemiettinen5176hopefully suing the crap out of the police and his ex-wife will give him a reason to live.
Best of luck Nathan, 10k goes a long way ❤
Ah yes the wife called in a “welfare” check. He’s probably so depressed from her.
Or he's just depressed and she cares?? I'm married and have dealt with and still deal with depression my whole life. I'd hope if I fall off she tries what she can
@@drumusic5665doubtful. The guy seemed completely fine. It was likely an argument and she needed to show her control over the guy. Either way, how did this help the guy?
The problem is that these days calling the cops for help is more like asking for someone to get into more trouble instead.
Jesus H. Christ! Wife calls because she's worried he husband is going to kill himself, and your take is "probably depressed from her?" With zero evidence of course. What a great you'd be if a buddy was saying the same things. 🤦🏻♂️
@@theangryscotsman5174what evidence is there that the guy is in any trouble?? NONE! He said he was fine!
It's amazing that we as citizens are held to the standard of "Ignorance of the law is no excuse" yet those whose ONE JOB is to uphold the law get away with being woefully ignorant of the law.
Thank you!! It has to stop! It's the culture of it all!! Keep fighting for equal justice ⚖ no more immunity and stop paying taxpayers money for lawsuits!!
Police unions ensure incompetence is everyone else's problem except the cop.
the worst part is it's intentional. QI only works if "I didn't know", stay stupid stay employed....
This happened some time ago and was widely covered. I'm disturbed to learn that this is the progress. I thought it was being handled and the chief had addressed this with the community already. I'm absolutely disgusted to learn no justice has yet begun to commence here. I'm happy to donate to Mr. Argent. This is egregious and CANNOT be tolerated. It's one of the more atrocious cases in my opinion.
If someone is walking away from you, by definition, they are not being confrontational...
He wasn't intimidated and didn't lick their boots so he was "confrontational".
The lady cop lying to the other store employees to make herself feel righteous about this abuse literally sickens me.
Classic narcissism.
1. Exaggerated / false ideas of their own importance, abilities, power and/or identity.
2. Lack of empathy.
3. Need for excessive admiration.
4. Sense of entitlement.
5. Envy.
6. Interpersonal exploitative behavior.
7. Manipulative
People with 'antagonistic narcissism' may have a strong need to be better than others, may lie, cheat, gaslight, or put others down to appear dominant.
That's basically a point-perfect description of every pig in the US...
It's always heartwarming to watch ATA explain the pertaining laws that the police don't give a single F about.
This fellow seemed to be having a rough time but he was showing up to work and trying. These cops ruined his life. I hope he gets some justice.
Please get this dude a lawyer. Those cops are ridiculously ignorant of their own profession. If I was as bad at my job in hospitals as the best cop is at theirs, patients would die all the damn time from my arrogant and self aggrandized ego. My self righteousness, ignorance, incompetence, and overall lack of empathy and kindness towards others would be so glaring. With them, it blends right in. It’s scary when you really think about it.
It takes two years of training to do nails or be a barber. It takes six weeks of training to be a cop that can carry a gun and kill people.
No worries, if you had indemnification like public officials do, the taxpayers would pay any settlements/judgments for any lawsuits filed against you.
So very TRUE! I'm a nurse also ❤
This is actually an old interaction
Maybe even a rerun
There are no civil rights lawyers in Arkansas willing to go against any police. I hope videos like this spark someone's interest to get into this line of work. It seems it could pay off after the long wait on the first few cases.
The lack of training and basic common sense from these cops is astounding.
They're more concerned with what charges they can hit him with rather than doing an actual welfare check
That they FIRED him for being s*icidal/having real bad mental health is SO GROSS!!
That made me equaly as mad as the male police officer did
I hope the jury keeps this in mind during the trial.
@@Figgy20000Charges were all dropped
So you're upset with the male cop that arrested him....but not upset with the female cop that went out of her way to smear his name and get him fired.
Got it, thanks.
@@downhomesunset during the Civil trial he better win
They fired him for being arrested on the job. This all comes back to the cops.
He’s struggling to find a civil rights lawyer in Arkansas? My God, if I were a civil rights lawyer, I’d take this case in a heartbeat. This isn’t just a home run lawsuit, it’s a frigging grand slam. Especially considering the police’s illegal actions got him fired from his job, caused him financial difficulties that caused him to be late on his bills and disclosed mental health information to his employer, which I’m not sure, but could be a HIPPA law violation and to add insult to injury, if Nate was having a mental health crisis, they made his situation FAR worse for arresting him on such a bogus charge.
This is a lawsuit that could rake in a lot of money. If I were a lawyer, I’d sure want to take this case.
It should be illegal for an officer to tell someone's business to someone else that has nothing to do with it. The fact she went inside and was telling his employers that he is basically a danger to himself and others with no proof other than a ex wife called and said this.
So...he was arrested for exercising his right to a lawyer. Hmm.
I was arrested and hospitalized in the VA for ideations. It made me scared to seek help for years. I ruined relationships and hurt people I loved because of it. I have been able to get over it and seek help. We should not be punishing and condemning people for their mental state.
All your rights disappear with an anonymous phone call, your 5th amendment, your right to a lawyer, your rights to refuse to speak, etc.
no, he's still entitled to all that. they can't torture him until he talks, but they can arrest him as long as they have probable cause. these cops just didn't have probable cause.
It wasn’t anonymous. It was his wife. A credible source.
@@tattooedbeasty3567 Ex-wife. If anything that status would make her allegations suspect not credible. Worthy of investigation but taken with a grain of salt.
Walking away is actually the opposite of confrontational, like literally.
Both times he walked away he asked if he was detained and she told him "no" and he stated he wanted no consentual contact. So this is what they arrest him for? BOHICA!
got an A !
I'm sure that's a HUGE comfort to him now that he's lost his job, his storage unit full of possessions and spent time locked up for not talking to the cops who got an F, went home had a nice dinner, slept in their own beds and got paid for the evenings "work"
Congratulations officer, here is your gun, and here is your badge.......now please turn in all your common sense!!
You’re right, this IS mind blowing!!!
