  • This is an updated video, not a tutorial. The 2nd Daly 24V 7S 100A BMS arrived and installed on my DIY 10kwh power wall. I also added PZEM-015 to monitor my solar panel production. Also showing my DIY power supply for my capacity testers, Liitokala.

    Note: Notice the voltage input of my solar panel, it was only 30V. I have two 290 watts of them, connected in parallel when this video was taken. I originally have them connected in series for higher voltage and efficiency of current flow. During this footage, I changed the configuration to parallel just for the sake of data collection. One thing was, my inverter's fan often runs when my solar panel was in series connection or was it only because it's hot inside the garden tool shed during summer. I did it only for comparison. The reason why I only have two 290W solar panels which is obviously insufficient for my power wall if used in a daily basis, because, I only use my power wall for my projects and some power tools and not for my entire home.

    I created this channel to support my countrymen (Filipinos), who are in need of information and knowledge regarding renewable energy, and help those who are in the midst of an energy crisis. My 10KWh DIY 18650 Power Wall project help me realized that a lot of Filipinos are now fully aware of renewable energy but most of them simply don't know how and where to begin. Mostly don't even have the financial capabilities to build a small and simple off-grid solar power system.
    I hope that one day, this channel will serve a good purpose for my fellow Filipinos who seek information about renewable energy and if possible, support them in building their own small solar setup or portable solar generator.

      Good day. Ang HOG po ay may dual meaning. Ang isa ay "Hybrid Off-Grid" at ang pangalawa ay "Hybrid on Grid" or hybrid grid tied. Ang mga hybrid inverter ay meron na pong display at parameters para sa accumulated harvest in Ah and Wh. Kung wala, ay maari nyo pong kabitan ng PZEM 015 sa pagitan ng solar panels at hybrid inverter.

    If you are truly concerned, get a victron Battery protection unit. It's another level of safety over the bms. It will disconnect batteries if they go out of range. Active balancing IMHO is not required.

      If it's the battery protect, product from victron you're talking about, then I'd rather do a diy, similar to that; buy a continous duty solenoid relay to be triggered by a low voltage cut-off board, programmable with digital adjustable voltage display. It's not worth the money and effort. Another level, nope! But thanks for tunin' in. 😊 👍 Have a good one.

    on the other note, nka-parallel ba pv mo sir? its better sna if it is wired in series and go for higher voltage instead of having high amp.
    tungkol nman sa plan mo to put active balancer, that really can help improve ur system. its really true na magiging panatag ka na pag meron na syang sariling active balancer. importante din kc tlga to maintain the cells balance para maprotektahan ang bawat pack sa overcharging and overdischarge.
    i also noticed na continuous pa rin harvest mo ng mga cells. anong bago mong project for that? hehehe... sorry, hindi ako updated sa mga activities mo.

      Thanks for dropping by 😊👍 oo nga, mabilis ang pag-akyat ng bilang ng mga subscribers, salamat sa suporta. Nakikita ko din ang channel mo, almost 600 subs na. 👍 About the panels, komolekta lang ako ng data kung ilang porsyento ang kaibahan sa series in comparison with parallel connection pati na din performance ng scc with hi voltage vs hi current. Halos wala dahil una, maiksi ang cable wiring from panel to scc wala pang 4 meters. Pero napansin ko madalas gumana ang fan ng scc kapag naka series connection dahil ang voltage ay naabot up to 80+ volts, meaning umiinit ng loob ng scc kasi mas mabigat ng trabaho ng mppt, kapag parallel ay napakabihirang gumana ng fan. Yan ang ilan sa mga data na nakolekta ko. Sa mga cells naman, yes may mga upcoming projects pa ako. 😊Again, salamat sa suporta.

      @@JFLegaspi ok, it seems parallel works better in your system. pero curious lang ako, most set ups are heating up with higher amps that with higher voltage. kya kadalasan ng pv set up is in series to lower the amp and mas makakatipid din sa wire kc u don't need big wires kc nga hindi nya kailangan magdala ng mataas na amps. anyway bago pa nman system mo and marami kpa pwdeng gawing experiment and choose the best suited pra sa system mo.       Philippine DIY Powerwall It was just for collection of data 😊 I haven’t concluded if parallel works better for my system. Based on my observation, mppt works harder with hi voltage (series) rather than parallel. I guess merong kinalaman ang conversion process from high panel voltage to battery voltage. But you’re right series, more often works better for any system. Tungkol naman sa cable wiring ko, walang problema either series or parallel dahil maiksi lang kasi, leas than 4 meters lang at mas malaki ang cable size na ginamit ko. 👍😊 Salamat bro sa input, maraming makakapulot ng idea and lesson from your comments.       @@JFLegaspi ok, siguro nga me problema sa efficiency ang mppt ng epever. kc sa mppt when ur pv is in series, it has to track ur highest voltage and current values in a most efficient way to charge ur battery. and i think instead of inverting the high voltage, nauuwi lang sa heat dissipation kya mas malakas sya mag init with higher voltage. i'm not really sure, opinyon ko lang sir.

      Posibleng effeciency issue nga but it is still hard to conclude, wala kasi akong aparato na magagamit na panukat for accurate result. Dati meron akong Outback Flexmax 80 SCC, naisasagad ko sa max panel arrays' voltage, wala ni kahit anong issue akong napansin. Etong EPEVER, madalas gumana ang fan sa high voltage lalo na nong nasubukan kong i charge and system from the grid, almost the whole charging time, nagana ang fan at maingay masyado, but just to settle everything, I prefer series connection talaga, higher voltage less amps at eto din talaga ang setup ng system ko even from the start.     I Like our powewall, maybe u can set the max charge to 3.9/4.00v per cell, by the solar charge controller, or a Smart bms . Good job

      Thank you for the compliment. 😊 Well, these batteries are hardly cycling, too seldom I discharge them to a very voltage. The lowest was 3.5 or so but I do that form time to time to prolong its life. Have a good one. 👍👍😊

      Good day. Salamat po sa panonood at suporta. Ang mga unang batch ng cells ay nabili ko sa eBay, later on may nakilala akong mga local seller dito sa bansa kung saan ko nakatira at sa kanya na ako namimili ng mga 18650 cells.

      elmer salango Good day to you too. 😊 Kung .5Hp (point five hp) ay kayang kaya at sobra pa.
      Eto ay 10kwh, (10,000 Watts) ang .5hp ay 367 watts lang. 10,000w/367w = 27.2hrs, kayang paganahin straight up, hindi kasali sa computation ang current surge tuwing start up ng motor at pag off neto tuwing maabot ang temp settings ng termostat. Sana nasagot ko ang tanong mo.

      Hi Marvz 😊 anong model ng Epever mo at anong battery system, 12v 24v or 48? Pakisend mo please at try ko i check. Kung eto namang setup ko ang tinatanong mo ay, ang bms at ang epever ay perfectly matched ang kanilang low and high voltage cut off. 👍😊

      Good day Fred. Prismatic LiFePO4 cells ay mas madaling buuin kesa 18650 lithium ion. Marami lang akong nakukunan na murang 18650 li-ion kaya eto ang ginagamit kong tipo ng cells.

    Sir matanong kolang po , pinanood kopo kc yung isang video nyopo at sabi nyopo mas maganda na 3 Series ang gagamitin po kesa sa 4 series kung yung battery po ay 18650,, at base po sa napanood kopo 24v po ang setup nyopo,,bakit po 14 pieces po ang battery pack nyopo? 7 sa kaliwa at 7 sa kanan,, bakit po hindi 12pieces na 4.2*6=25.2?

      that's a very good question. May gagawin akong video tungkol dyan dahil marami ding nagtatanong ng ganito sa akin. Sa maiksi at simpleng sagot, naka depende ang kung ilang "S" meron ang battery bank sa inverter. Halimbawa sa "3S", mas match eto sa inverter na may 15V high voltage cut off, pero kapag 16V ang high voltage cut off mas magandang "4S" ang cofiguration. Ganoon din sa 24V system ko, mas match at mamaximize ang capacity neto kapag 7S configuration kesa 6S lang. Ang inverter ko ay kaya hanggang 32V ng battery bank. Kapag 6S lang, sayang ang extra KWh/capacity na dapat mapakinabangan. Kaya ginawa kong 2X 7S dahil ang total ng isang bank ay 29.4V, a little bit under 32V pero yon ang pinaka max na setup. 👍😊

      Ang bawat inverter ay may low and high voltage cut off. Karamihan ay 15v ang high voltage cut off pero para mas masiguro mo kung match ang 15V ay check mo ang specs ng inverter sa manual, minsan meron din sa mismong likod ng inverter. 😊👍
