We are so excited to announce our master class shoeshine workshop is back in 2024, taught by Preston Soto, Founder of The Elegant Oxford and co-hosted by USA Shoe Shine Champion, Levi Elliot.
Join us on May 18, 2024 at Dashing Chicago for a 1.5 hour shoe shine workshop.
Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11.30 am - 4 pm at Dashing Chicago at 3320 S Dearborn St,Chicago, IL 60604
Price of Admission for the workshop is $79.95, which includes:
1. A one hour and half sit down course with Preston Soto at 12:00 or at 14:00
2. Over $100 worth of Saphir Medaille D’or Products in your choice of color.

Fantastic how much this channel has grown and the work up in for the community. Keep up the great work Preston.
I have a pair of broaged, tan , wing tipped oxfords. I always get light creasing just forward of the lacing, behind the wings. Where the naturally flexes. It seems that every time I wear them I have to do the tedious process of removing them.
Today, before putting them away, I decided to clean them up. I noticed a pump jar of 75% alcohol hand sanitizer nearby. It gave me an idea. I applied some to the creased area. Then rubbed it off with a paper towel. I could see tan staining on the cloth. I buffed the shoes, then applied tan shoe cream to the area. A brushing and finishing off with nylons, the shoes came out beautiful! All creases gone!
Hopefully there will be another on the westcoast again, would’ve loved to have come to the San Diego!

How do you know when a pair of shoes can be restored with a colour matching cream like Saphir or you need to re-dye the shoes?
It depends on the shoe and its condition. Cream can only get you so far, sometimes dye is required. It’s hard to articulate when one is needed instead of the other. It’s art and hard to objectively say at times.
