Because that is how it works. It's not going to be handed to you. Are you expecting that some HR manager will magically appear and offer you a job? I became a data analyst by applying for a customer service position and sweet talking the HR department. You want to become something, work for it. Plan it out and execute.
Focus on 2-3 solid projects. Quality over quantity. I've seen plenty of recruiter videos and AMA's where they say AT MOST they look at your first 3 projects.
Hey, I'm looking for a dataset that's the closest that I can get to real-world data. I want to do an end to end project where I use SQL to clean and fetch data and then move to Python to perform EDA, modeling etc. I'm struggling to find a dataset that's not too structured and clean. Any suggestions?
Hi Mo, Great video! Did you build your portfolio website from scratch or host on an existing platform? If the latter, what platform would you recommend?
I feel like Im re-creating the wheel by using the tools to clean and analyze data when LLM's can just do it for you. It feels like I'm doing nothing as a data analyst.
I just graduated with a degree mainly centered around Web and Mobile Development, but I had a focus on database and took some extra courses in it. I'm planning to do a dedicated python project with complex data. was wondering what the best way to advertise myself would be? I have projects I have worked on with various databases (SQL, Mongo, Neo4j), but no data vis or heavy ETL thing regarding something like a data warehouse or lake. Was hoping to steer more toward the data analyst/science/engineer industry. I really need a job this summer so I'm not too hopeful for a first job in the data field, but was wondering the best way to try?
Me: I want to become a Data Analyst.
Mo : Here it is. Just do it.

Great video!!
Hi , can I use past university projects in my portfolio? Or do I need to do something to it to be more presentable to show in a portfolio?

Glad you enjoyed it!
When you say you have a half decade of experience I always have to cringe. You can do better than that.
How.. by lying about his years? 😂😂😂
