Omg this brings back memories of my childhood, my sister used to go to Lasswade primary school. We stayed right across the road from the school. I used to watch the kid's out playing at playtime. 🙂
u can tell that u were born here. its a lovely wee place, im not far up at polton and remember my papa taking me walks all the time around here it was magical, he always had a story to go with everything that made it so special. nice video. :)
I Was born here in 1948 ...... the river and Melville Woods and Melville Castle were my playing fields .......as a 10year old what fun ......making Rafts for the river.......Tree Huts in the Woods and Gang Huts listen to Elvis on the radio ..........what more d' you need
Well Well I was born above Andrae Kirk's Butcher shop in 23/11/45 lived there for 5 years my Dad worked in the Paper Mill and across the road was a shop that was my Dad auntie Great Memories thanks
i went to Lasswade High 1980 - 84 it was as grim as it looked . that extension was the maths huts , complete school is 100% gone now . interesting video . I lived in Broomieknowe .
Yes of course at the top of the Hill leading to Bonnyrigg .. It featured briefly in a shocking documentary how they kept all correspondence including Birthday Cards & Xmas Cards from giving them to the Children .

i love walking all round the woods and water side, its a beautiful wee place and so small to drive thro as well, u miss all the beauty in a car.

My mum was born in elm row in 1928. family name MacLean. they were blacksmiths but my grandfather became a miner.
great to see the esk running clear, even though i worked at valleyfield papermill in penicuik when a lad.

Yes the place was notorious even in the 70-80s,heard some stories!🤔
oh yeah and she went to lasswade school and is now buried in lasswade cemetery
