I used to behave and think the way Ichi did when I was a kid. I don't know much about Ichi's upbringing, but I had a rough childhood. So I calmed myself down by exaggerating my achievements and that in time, made me narcissistic and rude. I used to panic whenever I thought about people badmouthing me or "ruining my reputation" too. When I was like 12 or 13 I went through a traumatic experience and I abandoned the narcissistic mindset I had, but stayed delusional and got more anxious and easily triggered/bothered instead. I think this soundtrack conveys these negative feelings well. The distorted and elongated visuals that Ichi sees whenever he panics do too. The track starts off nicely and it sounds like the voice is laughing when it sings the lyrics, but then it gets repetitive and more distorted, and the instrumental changes almost entirely in the middle. It sounds like echos. And by the end it all sounds like a chaotic mess, almost. I don't like to think that I'm reading too much into it, but rather that Satoshi Kon did a great job writing this character. The thought process of a child like this is presented extremely accurately.
The older you grow more you realise the mistakes you have done in the past. That's how it's with everyone. Humans have tendancy to blame either themself or others or the surroundings. Then I gave up and acted bitterly and resentful even to my friends - paranoid that they would ditch me. Rather than just accepting reality I despised it. I was embarrassed and terribly afraid that my parents or grandparents would find out that I didn't fit in. Gratefully, a kind person showed tremendous charity toward me at the end of the year. He approached me even though I was unapproachable. That gave me hope. Im still listening to this!! :DD
@@HANCHANs me too
not quite~ this is in fact only used episode 2 as I recall as Ichi's theme and is usually playing with him as the centre of attention. Although he is wrongly suspected of being the illusive conception of lil slugger or shounen bat.
Ahhh finally found it... yesss !
This never gets old.
"Eh once again, Those turtles are slow"
That's what she said on the first line in Thai
I was kinda surprise
Do you have the exact thai lyrics for that? I can’t hear out most of it and match it up and its driving me crazy.
@@arthurchristmas4112 Ofc, and I was surprise they had some thai lyrics in it. I thought I was misheard but no
@@meikoyukino Can you show it?? If you can't that's alr!!
@@jouken1douji เอ๊ะๆอีกครั้ง .....พวกเต่าเดินช้า some of the lyrics are quite hard to hear and that's what i got. Also what is alr???
@@meikoyukino alr mean alright! and thank youuu
Everyone! It’s Lil Slugger! The real Lil Slugger!!
Extremely catchy music~
Sounds like Thai or Vietnamese language~
I think it's Thai
susumu hirasawa always put some vietnamese in his songs
Yonzo Rikuo Why?
@@dishenglim9139 That's because Susumu loved the country and its culture during a trip in 1994. He even made 3 solo albums (Sim City, Siren and Switched-on Lotus, although the 3rd one is mostly a remix album) deeply infuenced by his trips to Thailand (some songs in Electronic Tragedy ~ ENOLA, an album released by his band P-Model, also has a deep Thai influence) and during the production of Sim City, Siren and ENOLA, he recorded some songs in Bangkok, along with some concerts in Thailand.
Thai, it's Hirasawa sampling his own work, "Kun Mae #3" from his Shun project!
Definitely my favorite track. With the ending theme being a close second
Uno de los mejores soundtracks que he escuchado ✊
Still coming back to this
love this one too. So catchy

Don't know why but this ost is especially nostalgic
I feel like I could catch some Thai words in this
it goes like ".... once we .... the beloved one ....we're slowly moving" I'm not sure but that's what I heard from the glitchy voice
this goes hard
When your just the most popular kid in your school and paranoid about anything ruining your popularity
forgot how sick the beat is for this.
